Vans brings together the comfort of its ComfyCush technology and the cold weather protection of MTE with the all-new, all-weather Static CC MTE. As a continued evolution to Vans footwear development, this latest model expands on comfort and performance by addressing the need for seasonality in sneaker design. By complementing its classic hi-top form with weatherized materials, the Static CC MTE allows you to be comfortable regardless of the season.

Designed with Vans signature style for colder climates and inclement weather, the Static CC MTE mixes weather treated materials, rugged features like D-ring metal eyelets for a more secure fit, mudguard paneling and a puffed collar for maximum comfort. All of this, combined with the warmth-retention and moisture-wicking properties of MTE 360TM technology, allows the wearer to look good and be warm wherever they go. Each model is finished with an upgraded ComfyCush outsole with reverse lug for ultimate grip and traction and will be available in three colorways this holiday.

The Static CC MTE is available to shop on Vans.com and in Vans retail locations now.  Click on the pic to purchase!

Vans x RHUDE – “California Plate” Bold Ni (Beginning 10.26.19)

HO19_RHUDE_BoldNi_PlateBlk_Lifestyle1-

Words via Vans:

“This fall, Vans partners with luxury streetwear brand, RHUDE to release a three-piece footwear offering as a nod to each brand’s beloved California heritage. Pulling from Vans’ style archives, RHUDE brings back the Vans California Plate print on Vans’ retro-inspired BOLD NI form. The Vans x RHUDE capsule drops October and November at select Vans retailers and online at rh-ude.com.

RHUDE reinterprets Vans’ California Plate Prints with three iterations referencing the history of “The Golden State’s” license plates. The initial delivery of the Vans x RHUDE Bold NI drops October 26 and highlights the plates from the decade of Vans’ birth. First introduced in 1963, the California black plate originally featured gold numbers and an embossed California logo. RHUDE takes on the design with branding inspired by the Vans flying-V logo, which pops below black suede uppers. The second offering spotlights the blue base plate first introduced in 1969, with blue suede uppers and matching blue RHUDE branding. The final installment of the Vans x RHUDE capsule will hit stores November 26 and features racing red suede above the 1982 California Sun license plate printed on the foxing.

“Growing up surrounded by the skate scene in Los Angeles made collaborating with Vans a surreal moment for all of us at RHUDE,” said RHUDE Design Director Rhuigi Villaseñor. “Vans has a unique history and connection with youth culture which is why I was so excited to push those creative boundaries with this collaboration. From a design standpoint, the colorways I chose are an homage to my love of iconic, classic cars – blue to represent the Mercedes 280 SL, red for the Ferrari 275, and black for the Porsche Carrera.”

Each colorway of the Bold NI showcases an updated take on the brands iconic Sidestripe in white leather, an UltraCushÔ Lite drop-in footbed for elevated comfort and a special Checkerboard printed waffle sole. The Vans x RHUDE collection will be available to shop in select retail locations and online at rh-ude.com on October 26 and November 23. Visit Vans.com/rhude for more information.”

Vans x COMME des GARÇONS “Black Market” Pop-Up – ComfyCush Sk8-Hi & Old Skool

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_10_comme-des-garcons-cdg-black-market-collab-collection-6

Words via Hypebeast:

“COMME des GARÇONS continues a string of special drops with another collaborative “CDG Black Market” pop-up. The unique store is the latest in a line of the Japanese label’s guerrilla pop-up experiences, offering exclusives from a wide range of creatives and labels, including Disney, Vans, Burberry, Lewis Leathers and acclaimed artist Futura 2000, to name a few.

Black Market shops emerge infrequently, instead of holding to a specific schedule — the last event premiered in 2017 — and this year’s iteration is the series’ biggest to date. COMME des GARÇONS has sourced exclusives from a variety of partners; key pieces include a branded BMX bike from Kuwahara, a tonal G-SHOCK watch, thematic tees from Disney and Sk8-Hi and Old Skool models from frequent associate Vans. Unsurprisingly, all the items are executed in COMME des GARÇONS’ favored black shade. Of particular note is a series of graphic layering pieces from Futura.”

Vans Japan x BILLY’s Tokyo – Faux Leopard Pack (Japan Only!)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_10_billys-tokyo-vans-leopard-print-pack-release-date-6

Words via Hypebeast:

“BILLY’s Tokyo is known for frequently offering exclusive Vans capsules, and for its latest effort, the retailer has added vivid leopard stylings to three classic silhouettes: Bess Ni, Bold Ni and Era.

Most pieces of footwear that present leopard graphics do so with a flat print, but BILLY’s and Vans have opted to add bold texture to theirs, making for a trifecta of designs that are as wild in feel as they are in look. The fierce fabric is applied differently on each silhouette as well, offering a unique juxtaposition with each shoe’s natural white canvas accents and special hits.

The Bess Ni keeps its print to the lateral side and opts for a mostly unadorned medial half, save for the semi-circular patch on the midfoot. Further layering is presented by the asymmetrical toebox. The Bold Ni uses the most material of the bunch, embellishing every inch of the upper except for the thick Jazz Stripes on each side, while also adding a classic Vans logo to the tongue. Last but not least, the Era offers a middle ground between its compatriots, wrapping everything but the lateral quarter with faux fur.”

All three pairs will be made available for pre-order at BILLY’s on October 12. The Bess Ni is priced at ¥14,300 JPY (approximately $133 USD), the Bold Ni at ¥16,500 JPY (approx. $153 USD), and the Era at ¥15,400 JPY (approx. $143 USD). Tax is included in each shoe’s price.

Vans x Realtree Xtra® – Collection (Available Now!)

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

Vans is partnering once again with Realtree on a holiday collection emblazoned with the iconic woodland pattern that’s become synonymous with camouflage worldwide.

Much like Vans, Realtree’s origins can be traced back to a single, innovative idea. In 1986, Bill Jordan introduced the company’s first camouflage pattern under the Realtree name. Fast forward to current day, and what was once a fledgling idea is now recognized as a global leader in camo pattern innovation, with widespread use not only in the outdoor space, but across countless other industries, including streetwear and fashion houses for their seasonal lines.

The Realtree collection is rooted across several of Vans’ classic styles, including the Sk8-Hi in the Realtree Xtra meteorite and snow camo, the Classic Slip-On in Realtree AP blaze camo, the Era in Realtree Xtra meteorite, and the Old Skool in Realtree AP blaze camp and Realtree Xtra wild orchid.

Leading the way in apparel are the men’s Oakmont MTE fishtail anorak in Realtree Xtra and made of rugged, 100% polyester ripstop with DWR coating and 6 oz fill; and the women’s Realtree Foundry Jacket, an allover-print puffer with a high neck, circle zipper pull, DuPont insulation and 100% polyester fabric outer. Also offered is the Realtree Fano Anorak for women and the water-resistant Garnett windbreaker jacket for men.

Women’s accessories include a Realtree Camper hat in 5-panel poly fabric construction with buckle adjuster and leather patch, and the Realtree Backpack, constructed with 100% poly outer 22L capacity, exterior pockets and one main compartment with laptop sleeve.

On the men’s side, look for an Allover IT Snapback, Obstacle Skatepack backpack, Skate Duffel and Ward Sling Bag, all in Realtree Xtra.

Vans x MoMA – Patchwork Era (Available Now!)

146755_a

Words via MoMA:

“MoMA Exclusive: Collectors’ items for your feet. The patchwork of color and materials on these special edition MoMA and Vans Era Sneakers celebrate the Museum’s reopening and feature both the MoMA and Vans logos—the MoMA logo is on the left sneaker, the Vans logo on the right. MoMA and Vans Era Sneakers are unisex and available in men’s sizes 3.5 through 13.

With their padded collar and different color combinations, the Vans Era was designed from Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta in 1976 and became the sneaker of choice for a generation of skateboarders. Patchwork, a motif that has been a part of Vans’ storied history, came about when customers could bring in their own materials to create a one-of-a-kind pair of footwear. Many different design variations were made, using materials and construction choices such as needlepoint, quilting and patchwork.

Due to factory changes in the 90s, custom materials submissions could no longer be accepted — but Vans began producing patchwork designs, which continue to be an important part of the brand’s heritage. These MoMA and Vans Era Sneakers continue the tradition of Vans Era and patchwork.

Why We Chose This
Sneakers as design objects were represented in MoMA’s 2017–2018 exhibition Items: Is Fashion Modern? which featured 111 items of clothing and accessories that have had a strong impact on the world in the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition illustrated the power fashion has to create and express relationships about culture, functionality and identity. Founded in Anaheim, California in 1966, Vans earliest customers were skateboarders and the brand later collaborated with skateboarding professionals like Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. Vans continue to foster personal expression and creativity, and has joined MoMA to create this special edition celebrating the Museum’s newly expanded reopening in fall of 2019.”
