“COMME des GARÇONS continues a string of special drops with another collaborative “CDG Black Market” pop-up. The unique store is the latest in a line of the Japanese label’s guerrilla pop-up experiences, offering exclusives from a wide range of creatives and labels, including Disney, Vans, Burberry, Lewis Leathers and acclaimed artist Futura 2000, to name a few.
Black Market shops emerge infrequently, instead of holding to a specific schedule — the last event premiered in 2017 — and this year’s iteration is the series’ biggest to date. COMME des GARÇONS has sourced exclusives from a variety of partners; key pieces include a branded BMX bike from Kuwahara, a tonal G-SHOCK watch, thematic tees from Disney and Sk8-Hi and Old Skool models from frequent associate Vans. Unsurprisingly, all the items are executed in COMME des GARÇONS’ favored black shade. Of particular note is a series of graphic layering pieces from Futura.”
