Vault By Vans x Damien Hirst x Palms Casino – Capsule Collection (12.6.19)

“Vans has partnered with Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and legendary British artist Damien Hirst for a series of silhouettes that bring his iconic style to its footwear. The release is the latest project from Hirst and Palms Casino Resort, which recently saw the artist design a Demon With Bowl sculpture in the pool complex and a number of his works added to 9,000-square-foot sky villa.

The pack features three different takes on the Classic Slip-On VLT LX and three versions of the Sk8-Hi Reissue VLT LX. The different designs all reference iconic Hirst artworks, with one set featuring a colorful all-over spot pattern, alongside a twist on the classic Vans checkerboard. Other designs reference Hirst’s butterfly work — showcased in his recent “Mandalas” exhibition — and the spin skull design.

Speaking about the capsule, Hirst explained, “I’ve always loved Vans and the artwork works brilliantly on these shoes. I can’t wait for people to see them. It’s amazing for an artist to have the sort of freedom Palms and Vans have given me.”

The Damien Hirst x Vault by Vans collection will release on December 6, exclusively via the Vault by Vans store in New York and the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.”

Legendary skater Geoff Rowley and Vans are continuing their 20th anniversary celebrations with an all-new collaboration with London-based collector and archivist pillowHeat. The new collaboration sees Rowley and pillowHeat rework the skater’s signature Rowley Pro, which first released in 1999, with an aesthetic inspired by Vans’ heritage.

The new design features a two-tone Racing Red / True Blue style of the mid to late 70’s and the checkerboard explosion of the early 80’s. pure brand origins! The shoes feature Pro spec everything. Ultracush HD sockliner, Duracap, professional branding, plus a tweaked 114 last with accentuated medial scoop & Osnaburg canvas friction tape to align with pillowHeat’s die-hard USA principles.

The sneaker will be strictly limited to just 66 pairs, all of which are available from pillowHeat’s store — located on the first floor of the Vans Carnaby Street location in London.

Vans Celebrates the Holiday Season with Special Disney Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Sk8-Hi

Vans and Disney team up yet again with a second footwear delivery featuring images from the beloved Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas just in time for the holidays. The special-edition Sk8-Hi follows the successful October delivery with design details dedicated to Jack’s discovery of Christmas Town. The Vans and Disney Sk8-Hi will be available to shop November 22.

Vans revisits Jack Skellington’s trip to the Holiday Woods in which he stumbles upon the Holiday Doors leading him to Christmas Town. Vans original hi-top model showcases scenes from the iconic melody, “What’s This?” as Jack Skellington revels in the cheer of the North Pole. The Sk8-Hi is dressed in red and black suede uppers and white contrast stitching. The navy canvas quarter-panels depict Jack Skellington marveling at the Christmas lights on one side and his awestruck moment with the snowman on the opposite side.  The Sk8-Hi is finished with a printed Christmas Tree on the heel, gold metal eyelets, red and black check laces and a red foxing stripe.

The Vans Christmas Town Sk8-Hi will be available in adult and toddler sizing on the Vans webstore and Vans retail stores on November 22.

Vans For Homeless Youth of Orange County (GoFundMe campaign)

Attention!! Calling on everyone in our Vans community and beyond! I’ve got an important mission that I’m hoping you all can get behind me on.  I wanted to do something special for a special group of kids down in the OC, with a few of my friends from Waves of Grace, @ofthesamevein and @thelab_bp. These kids’ situation sucks, to put it lightly.  If you have HBO, please search for the documentary “Homeless: The Motel Kids of Orange County”.  The doc is about 10 yrs old, but the school still exists and supports new kids each year through their charity Hero For Kids.  Let’s get together and show these kids that we fully support them and just show how amazing our Vans community is!

Fans will have the opportunity to participate in creative activations, experience why creativity matters, and give back to organizations that support creative expression.
