Vault By Vans x Patta – Mean Eyed Cats “3rd Collection” (7.16.21)

2_2000x

VAULT BY VANS AND PATTA JOIN FORCES ONCE AGAIN TO RELEASE LATEST ‘MEAN EYED CATS’ COLLECTION

The Vault by Vans x Patta ‘Mean Eyed Cats’ pack originated as a token of appreciation to Patta’s connection with Beams in Japan. The first drop came in 2015 before a follow-up collection came out in 2017. This year, the Vault by Vans x Patta ‘Mean Eyed Cats’ collection includes a diverse range of colorways that has every person covered. Presented on timeless Vans silhouettes such as the Old Skool VLT LX and Sk8-Hi Reissue VLT LX, the footwear is executed in true Patta fashion with detailing on the taping and upper of the shoe. Bearing the Patta script logo on the upper means you can show everyone who you are running with all held together with custom Patta branded laces as well as a 3 piece series of graphic T-Shirts and a collaborative pair of socks.
Vans started off as a family-owned brand in 1966 and was supported by the local scene in California before becoming a global powerhouse within the lifestyle and skateboarding industries. This resonates with Patta’s identity within contemporary fashion, as their rise was based on supporting the local scenes in music, sports and art before they were recognized beyond their borders. Supporting each other on this collaboration brought out the Mean Eyed Cats and the collection is now available globally.

The Vault by Vans x Patta ‘Mean Eyed Cats’ pack will be available from vans.patta.nl, their mobile app as well as Patta London, Patta Milano, Patta Amsterdam from the 16th of July at 13:00 CEST and at select retailers worldwide July 23rd.

LBIFBACK Review: Vans Vault Originals OG Style 23 LX (Canvas/Black)

31 Days of Vans Is Back for 2021! #31daysofvans

Well, today’s July 1st, and you know what that means.  It’s time to kick off the annual #31daysofvans celebration. This year is a little bit different though, and that’s because we’re excited to announce that Vans, and in particular, the Vans Family team, are officially joining in, (and recognizing) our community-created celebration.  This has been something that’s been brewing for just over 2 years now.  Covid put a hold on all the plans we had started talking about, the first go around, but last year, I got to get together again with the Vans Family, to brainstorm and come up with some ideas on ways for Vans to get involved.  I was honored to represent the community, and I have the utmost respect for the way they approached it, understanding that this was something we had all created, and they weren’t trying to take anything away from that.  So with that being said, we threw a bunch of stuff at the wall, to see what stuck, and I’m not going to give away anything, but there’s some cool stuff they’re doing for it, so stay tuned for sure.  We’re beyond stoked.

I also wanted to give a huge huge huge shout-out to our Vans brother, Kyle Sliney, aka @iamrocketkyle for the sick artwork he always does for 31 Days of Vans, and if you haven’t noticed by now, Vans requested his artistic stylings, for an official banner graphic for the Vans Family app, and boy did he come through!  His artwork features a neon sign, complete with animation, including a Caballero model being chopped down to a Half Cab, nodding to the upcoming anniversary of the Half Cab, which we’ll be seeing more of through the year.  You can read about the full inspiration over on his IG post.  So awesome.  So proud of him.  Glad he got some official Vans shine!

For those of you who are new to our Vans community and not quite sure what this is.  Well, we invite you to share your favorite pair(s) of Vans with the rest of us.  Get creative.  We’ve seen folks post up the same shoe all 31 days, just to find out at the end, each pair was a different one, but all the same shoe, lol.  That was wild.  We also get to see a lot of stuff that most have forgotten about.  There’s no wrong way to do this.  Just share a pic, each day, preferably on-foot, and check out the campaign hashtag each night before you go to bed, to see all the cool pairs across the globe!

Vans Partners with Global Non-Profit, Tony Hawk and Olympic Skaters for Epic Celebration of Skate Community

Vans – the undeniable leader in skateboarding for over 50 years – will be launching a global campaign ahead of skateboarding’s Olympic debut, highlighting the things that make skateboarding great.

Since the beginning, Vans has celebrated the creative culture of skateboarding and the individual self-expression it embodies through listening, empowering and showcasing local communities driving skate culture around the world. This summer’s campaign, “No Matter How Big Skateboarding Gets, Never Forget Where it Starts,” highlights what makes skateboarding so special…the streets, skateparks, backyard pools and communities that built skate from the very beginning.

For this campaign, Vans is partnering with award-winning international non-profit Skateistan, who empowers children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa and skateboarding’s biggest legend and Skateistan ambassador, Tony Hawk. The campaign will also feature Olympic skaters Lizzie Armanto (FIN) and Pedro Barros (BRA) who will have featured videos during the campaign.

In the spirit of celebrating the creativity in skateboarding, Vans ambassadors will also be building their own Vans Skate Classic Customs and Vans is encouraging fans to do the same. This summer $10 from every pair of Vans Skate Customs up to $200k, will go to Skateistan to benefit skate communities globally. Vans Fans can also donate at Vans.com/skateistan and Vans.com/customs.

Vans – EVDNT UltimateWaffle (Available Now!)

thumbnail_image002

This summer, Vans introduces the EVDNT UltimateWaffle, Vans’ greatest innovation in lifestyle footwear. As the first-of-its-kind lifestyle silhouette featuring UltimateWaffle construction, this new style features a translucent outsole that combines a built-in UltraCush™ insole with an internal stabilizing shank for more cushioning and support.

The EVDNT’s sleek and tapered silhouette is stylish enough to go with anything, while its UltimateWafffle construction makes it a standout style comfortable for every occasion. A LuxLiner™ interior creates the perfect sock-like fit for a more comfortable wear throughout the day while the shoe’s breathable, knitted mesh uppers, leather overlays and rubber accent pieces deliver a unique perspective with a formed and stylish fit. Lastly, a striking translucent outsole makes a bold “what you see is what you get” statement.

To create the EVDNT UltimateWaffle, Vans leveraged decades of experience in skate shoe technology and its newly developed UltimateWaffle outsole construction to create the perfect lifestyle shoe for all-the-time wear. “The overall idea was to keep all the durability and function of a skate shoe and add the comfort and cushioning of an everyday shoe,” said Nathanial Iott, senior director of footwear design at Vans.

For the initial delivery, the EVDNT UltimateWaffle comes in a robust color scheme in shades of blue and grey—just neutral enough to be versatile, but bold enough to stand out in a crowd. An asymmetrical perforated leather vamp and flipped iteration of Vans’ iconic Sidestripe lend a unique appeal to this shoe, while the translucent outsole makes it a true showstopper.

Vans is also proud to introduce the EVDNT UltimateWaffle for kids, an everyday shoe engineered specifically to stand up to the wear-and-tear of kids using the best technology from skate footwear. Featuring a kids-specific UltimateWaffle construction, a perforated suede vamp, and soft mesh on the upper for enhanced breathability, durability, and comfort, this shoe can take anything the playground has to throw at it—then come back the next day for more.

And because kids deserve to look good too, the EVDNT UltimateWaffle V also delivers in the style department. The sleek and tapered shoe evokes the adults EVDNT UltimateWaffle, but with a kids specific UltimateWaffle cupsole. Its versatile grey colorway coordinates with any outfit, while its translucent outsole reveals the midsole inside for a bold style statement. The EVDNTUltimateWaffle V also comes in toddler sizing, with a hook & loop closure for customized fit and elastic laces for easy entry.

The EVDNT UltimateWaffle is available now globally at Vans retailers and Vans.com. For more information, please visit Vans.com/UltimateWaffle.
