Vans Vault x Ludwig Van “Deadstock” (A Closer Look)

The highly limited Ludwig Van collaboration is just about all gone from every Vault dealer in the US that was lucky enough to partake in this special release. There was also some speculation that certain patterns were only offered in smaller sizes, leaving some people not able to get their desired print in their size. I was fortunate enough to get the 30s Nostalgia print that I wanted, as well as the Tog Shop Check black and white pattern that was available in my sz12 as well. I took some pics of both shoes, in both the black and white laces, as well as the free t-shirts and canvas bag that were included with purchase from Conveyor. Congrats to those who got their pair(s), and to Vault and Ludwig Van on this highly successful release!

Vans Vault x Ludwig Van – “Deadstock” Release Party @ Conveyor (OTWS exclusive)

Conveyor played host to the Vans Vault x Ludwig Van “Deadstock” release party last night, and I was able to make it out there, to snap up a few pics for you all. It was a great turnout, and people were lined up inside the store, anxiously awaiting their turn, to purchase one of these limited gems. There were only a few patterns available for sale, and only one size for each pattern. I was lucky to get the pattern I had wanted, only because the person in front of me, decided to not get them after all. There was a DJ, and free alcohol at the event, as well as the accompanying hipsters that I so do not fit in with, hehe. All in all, it was a cool event, and I hope you enjoy my pics! Vans Vault – Authentic One-Piece LX

More goodness from Vault is starting to pop up at various dealers, and the latest is the Authentic One-Piece LX’s seen here. Constructed in that premium nubuck that we’re all familiar with, and they’ve even gone as far, as to wrap the heel and ankle area with the soft leather, for a comfortable bare-foot fit. Vans Vault x Ludwig Van – Deadstock Canvas Project (Further Look)

“Los Angeles-based designer and Ludwig Van impresario Mike Dytri has turned a cache of decades-old original Vans canvas sheets (purchased at a warehouse sale) into his newest collaboration. Working closely with Vans, Ludwig Van created this extremely limited edition collection of only 288 pairs using 14 different patterns. The shoes ship with a D-ring belt, flipbook and shoe bag all packaged in a limited edition box. The collection will only be available in five U.S. stores: UNDFTD (Los Angeles – La Brea), Conveyor (Santa Monica, CA), Proper (Long Beach, CA), DQM (New York) and Bows & Arrows (Berkeley, CA). Colette (Paris) and Dover Street Market (London) will carry the shoes in Europe, while the shoes will be released slightly later in Japan as well.”

Vans Vault – Aloha Pack (Spring/Summer 2011)

The Vans Vault team is coming correct for the Summer with the “Aloha” pack seen here. A few classic Hawaiian floral prints were sourced for this collection, in orange, blue, and brown or burgundy, we can’t tell by the pics just yet! The Sk8-Hi, and the Era were chosen for the pack, and each design sits on top of the same all-white midsole. The Sk8-Hi’s use a mixture of suede and floral canvas, while the Era is constructed of all floral canvas. It’s nice to see Vault paying homage to the classic designs of the companies’ earlier years. These will be out around May, and I suspect they’ll be gone before you know it!

Vans Vault x Ludwig Van “Deadstock Canvas” Project (Video)

Vans Vault and Ludwig Van clothing brand, have gotten together on this really cool, and unique collaboration project. Dubbed the “Deadstock Canvas Project”, Mike Dytri of Ludwig Van, art directed this project, with the focal point on some rare, early 90s Vans canvas’s that he had been sitting on for awhile, that were sourced through an auction. He wanted to do something great with these, so he got in touch with some people he knew, who knew some people, who knew some people, and the project came to life. There will be 290 pairs total, in the classic Era style, as well as a D-Ring belt for this project, and the releases will be scaled back to only a few Vault dealers, mainly because of the amount of material they have to work with. Peep the vid for the awesome patterns, and prints, and patiently wait for these limited pieces to arrive!

Vans Vault – Taka Hayashi releases (new colorways!)

Some new colorways have just popped up over on the Vault microsite, of the Taka Hayashi-designed Derby TH LX, and the Sk8-Hi TH LX. The Derby TH LX is seen here in a gray suede colorway, called Dark Gull Gray. The Sk8-Hi TH LX is done up in a beige and brown colorway, called Nomad. Both are looking sick, and are due out very soon at your local Vault dealers.

Vans Vault – Sk8-Hi Reissue LX Perf (S/S 2011)

This is the latest release from the Vault Spring/Summer 2011 collection, dubbed the Sk8-Hi Reissue LX Perf. Seen here in 3 monotone colorways, each constructed with premium perforated leather, and sitting on top of a different midsole. The first colorway, Madder Brown, is sitting on top of a brown gum sole. The Wild Dove (grey) colorway, is sitting on a black sole. The Black colorway is sitting on top of a matching black sole, for that all-black look that goes with anything. Take a closer look, and you’ll see that the foxing stripe has been giving the double-wide treatment, and has also been given the color-matched treatment as well, for a slightly different appearance from further away. Each pair is looking pretty good!

Vans x A.P.C. is actually a Vault collaboration!

Earlier today we had shown you a closer look at the new Vans x A.P.C. collection, and one of our newest OTWS forum members, mayimbe181, has shared with us a few shots of his pairs that he went out and picked up earlier, and to our surprise, they are a Vault release, complete with a removable sockliner, Vault heel tab, box, and sticker tag. That’s news to us! He said these Authentics were being sold for $85 each. Now that’s some useful information nobody else has cared to mention!

Vans Vault – 106 LX (Spring 2011)

More new releases are starting to surface for the Spring, and this time we have new pics of the 106 LX from Vault. Available in 3 colorways, Madder Brown, which sits on top of a gum-sole. Khaki suede, and Navy, both come with white soles. These are expected to release in June.
