Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand brings its 50th anniversary year to a close with a collection that celebrates the brand’s “Off The Wall” heritage. Curated by Vans’ unofficial ambassador of fun, Steve Van Doren, the collection looks back in to the Vans archives to bring forth vintage Vans prints updated with a holiday twist.

Vans revisits its past by reissuing the skull and bones print from the archives and have updated it to include festive candy cane and Santa hats across the Sk8-Hi 38 and Old Skool 36 Reissue silhouettes. The Sidestripe footwear models are finished with a canvas and suede material blend and jolly “Ho Ho Ho 50” decorative laces.

To get you in to the holiday spirit, the Van Doren Approved collection includes festive apparel including the Holidaze longsleeve t-shirt, pullover hoodie and sweater that are adorned with the skull and bones Santa print. Rounding out the holiday arrangement are the Holiday crew socks, Pom beanie and trucker hat, fit for any ugly sweater or festive party occasions.

Check out this awesome photoshoot Hypebeast did, in what looks to be a Disney store, of the latest Disney|Pixar Toy Story collection. The shoes are absolutely awesome, and are a great collector’s piece for any Disney fan, especially those of us who love the Toy Story franchise. Vans x Fear Of God x Pacsun – Era 95 Reissue (Released This Past Weekend)

So this is a purposefully late post. I didn’t want to add to any of the hysteria that was sure to ensue with this release, which proved itself to be one of the most wildly popular Vans releases of the year. The hype was real, and to be expected, as Fear Of God has been this year’s trend setter, and with that came massive queue’s outside a few malls throughout the U.S. These are the queue’s normally reserved for Jordan 1 and 11 releases, and it took a lot of mall security by storm, and there were stories of the usual fights, back-doored inventory, line cutters, and “not one person in line is wearing Vans” statements. Whether they’re true or not, it’s these stories that add to the hype, and the insane $400 resell asking price. I just wanted to acknowledge this release, and give props to Jerry Lorenzo for creating something that got people talking about it, and going crazy over it.

Vans x Odd Future – “Donut” Classic Sk8-Hi & Authentic (9.24.16)

Vans has teamed up with Odd Future to release this “Donut” Pack in a Classic Sk8-Hi and Authentic. Both shoes feature a Scuba Blue turquoise colorway, with pink accents throughout. There’s an all-over donut print that sets the theme, which was also printed on the box. The Sk8-Hi also has an embroidered “OF” logo on the heel panel, for anyone who may not know who designed these. They’re a fun shoe, and will sell out pretty fast, so be quick with the online links, such as Silo’s webstore if you want to get a pair!

“Vans continues the expansion of its fall Classics season, drawing influence from traditional athletic styling to present a collection of varsity-inspired footwear for men. The six-piece collection takes design cues from vintage letterman jackets to incorporate a mix of leather and wool materials dressed in a warm color scheme atop the Sk8-Hi Reissue and Era 59.

With vintage sportswear a style favorite of the season, Vans deconstructs the varsity jacket to introduce gray, charcoal and navy iterations of the Era 59 and Vans’ original high-top, the Sk8-Hi Reissue. Vans and Major League Baseball Take the Field to Release Special Edition Classic Footwear

Vans partnered with Major League Baseball to release a capsule of Vans footwear just in time for the 2016 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard. Baseball fans of all ages can shop the official Vans x MLB collection beginning July 9 with the release of exclusive team styles including the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants.

The Vans x MLB collection puts a spotlight on the national pastime with team colors and logos on the Authentic and Sk8-Hi models. All eight team insignias are highlighted on the Authentic, which features a canvas upper with a repeat logo pattern. East Coast and West Coast battle it out as the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees receive a second style offering on Vans’ iconic Sk8-Hi. The repeat logo pattern is outfitted along the quarter panels of each style and are finished off with Dodger and Yankee blue foxing stripes. All footwear styles come complete with a special Vans x MLB logo on the footbed. Even the littlest baseball aficionados can join the fan frenzy with the Vans x MLB colors-ups will be offered on the Authentic V Lace that match back to all of the adult styles. The added elastic laces and heel pull allow for an easy on/off fit for even the littlest feet.

Vans also paired with Majestic Athletic, for a special edition MLB t-shirt program for each club.
