Vans Japan has once again teamed up with Sophnet. on another Sk8-Hi with a medial side zipper. This time, they went with a black and camo pattern for the side panels. Steven Alan has teamed up with Vault by Vans once again, to bring to us this premium take on a tonal Parisian Blue Vans collection. Steven Alan went with a few of their favorite OG silhouettes for this release, by way of an OG Sk8-Hi LX, OG Style 36 LX, and OG Classic Slip-On LX. Each pair matches the other, with all black vulcanized soles, a deep parisian blue suede, and contrasting royal blue accents. The style is classic, mature, and indicative of Steven Alan’s clean overall aesthetic. These are too dope, and are now available on the Steven Alan webstore.

Vans partners with Sk8-Hi brand ambassador and American model, Natalie Westling to design a custom Sk8-Hi Reissue DX that draws inspiration from her own personal approach to style with references from the ‘90s skate scene. Natalie, an Arizona native, picked up a skateboard at the age of three and has since found the striking similarities of riding atop her board and walking the runway.
“I was so honored to be a part of the Sk8-Hi campaign recently that it only felt right to choose the Sk8-Hi. All in all, I wanted to create a shoe that I could skate in but was also different from all of my other Vans.” – Natalie Westling
Taking cues from her own personal tomboy aesthetic, Natalie chose tan nubuck uppers and off-set it with a blue leather Sidestripe and hang flag. Keeping with the skate aesthetic, the Sk8-Hi Reissue DX uses a micro-mesh mini checkerboard lining that was once used in Vans’ most iconic skate silhouettes throughout the ‘90s, along with a dark gum sole. The Vans x Natalie Westling Sk8-Hi DX is finished with a custom blue footbed that is personalized with a ‘Natalie Skate’ emblem to match back to her own tattoos.
The Vans x Natalie Westling lookbook was shot by Los Angeles based photographer, Christin Rose, founder of the ‘She Plays We Win’ project geared toward celebrating the confidence that sports provides for young girls and used a group of local New York based skaters alongside Natalie. Earlier this year, Vans and Opening Ceremony partnered to launch Club USA, a dedicated shop-in-shop experience and continue their long-standing partnership with this exclusive collaboration. The Vans x Natalie Westling Sk8-Hi Reissue DX is available for $100 USD and is sold exclusively online and at all Opening Ceremony locations beginning November 1st.

The leader amongst sneaker decon artists, The Shoe Surgeon, has come up with these dope crepe-soled Sk8-Hi’s reconstructed entirely from scratch, using beige suede. This isn’t the type of customization you’re used to seeing, and the time and effort put into each pair of these is unrivaled. Limited to a run of 25 pairs, each one will be sold exclusively at SneakerCon this upcoming weekend, here in Los Angeles. Congrats to The Shoe Surgeon, on another dope Vans creation.

Bodega and Vans Vault are releasing this Sk8-Hi Reissue LX this upcoming Saturday, dubbed “Instant Winner”. With inspiration being drawn from the history and culture of gambling. There’s a nice write-up that BDGA shared, on the mindset of gambling, and it’s rich history, which I’ve saved for after the jump. For now, let’s just talk about the details on the shoe. For starters, the colors chosen are of the green variety, but more on the earth-tone side of things. The materials chosen consists of some nubuck, premium tumbled leather, and canvas. They went for gum soles, which pairs up perfectly with the colors of the upper. There’s custom embroidery on the heel, and Bodega 10th anniversary branding on the footbeds. Well done Bodega! Well done.
The Bodega x Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX ‘Instant Winner’ releases on Saturday, November 5th. Retail is set at $150 and the shoe will be available from the Bodega ComplexCon booth at 10:00am PST, from shop.bdgastore.com at 10:00am EST, and in-store at 10:00am EST.

“This Friday sees the launch of a limited-edition collaboration between Vans, London-based streetwear brand clothsurgeon and footwear retailer Offspring, with pared-back versions of two iconic Vans silhouettes hitting the streets. The sleek takes on the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi models feature veg tan hide and suede finishes with zig-zag stitch detailing courtesy of clothsurgeon.
According to clothsurgeon’s Rav Matharu, who first discovered Vans on the feet of Sean Penn’s character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the collaboration merges two worlds. “It’s what I do with my brand, using Saville Row sensibilities in modern streetwear shapes,” he says. “This was a conscious effort to elevate the beauty of a Vans classic shoe through luxury materials and craftsmanship.” But act fast to snap up a pair when they drop exclusively with Offspring at Selfridges, London, in store and online on Friday November 4. This info is about a month old, so sorry so late, but it’s still cool and worth sharing. Vans has teamed up with Fairdale bikes out of Austin, TX to create this limited edition Era, for friends, family, and a few lucky followers, as a thank you for their support. The high-vis neon yellow colorway is complemented with black accents and custom artwork throughout the entire shoe, which is fitting for any bike rider, and the 3M ankle mustache makes these a good choice for night riding as well. They even built a matching Fairdale TAJ bike in honor of their new shoe. Sorry, these aren’t for sale, but enjoy the pics after the jump, and the video up above!

“ACU has long been one of Shanghai’s go-to sneaker spots, so when it came time for the boutique to collaborate with Vans on a pair of limited-edition footwear, it naturally looked no further than its own stomping grounds for inspiration. A nod to Shanghai’s street culture, ACU’s take on the Classic Slip-On incorporates a number of different design cues as an homage to the the hairy crab — a winter delicacy in the Chinese city. For starters, the striped string that typically wraps the crab hits the shoe in the form of the design’s piping and outsole while a fuzzy hair-like textile wraps around the collar of the shoe. The highlight, though, is the shoe’s double layer of color — a dark green exterior (raw crab) hides a bright orange (cooked crab) layer underneath that becomes exposed with wear and tear over time for a truly one-of-a-kind look.”
ACU’s Vans are set to drop this Saturday, October 22 at retailers like KAFFIEND, Juice, UNDEFEATED and Bodega.

“DQM will be releasing its Holiday 16 footwear collection in collaboration with Vans this Thursday, October 27th. The Quilted MTE combines influences of classic technical outdoor footwear and apparel design with a high quality, luxury aesthetic. In Navy and British Khaki, the shoes are inspired by the idea and colors of wilderness.
The premium materials, deconstructed styling, quilted tongue and completely monochromatic palette of the Sk8-Hi silhouette create a minimal feel which belies the inherent functional outdoor technology borrowed from Vans’ MTE ‘Designed for the Elements’ collections. The shoes feature a heat retention layer between the sockliner and outsole to keep feet warm, padded collar and heel counters for support, a vulcanized lug outsole for maximum traction in wet weather, and premium, weatherproof leather uppers. A custom striped nylon webbing pull tab helps slip shoes over winter socks. Produced in a limited edition exclusively for DQM and The General store in New York, the shoes feature ‘The General: DQM for Vans’ logos on the insoles and ‘DQM’ logos on the heel tabs.”

Vans, and China’s first skateshop FLY, have come together again on a new collaboration, this time a Sk8-Hi done up in a popular dessert theme. The ruby cake is where FLY pulled inspiration from on this particular release. If you look at the shoe’s foxing, you’ll notice it’s a cream color, resembling the vanilla cake, while the toe bumper, and uppers mimic the white frosting. The red tongue label is the obvious cherry on top, but the customization doesn’t stop there. If you take a look at the back heel panel, you’ll notice a large debossed FLY logo, reminding you whose shoe this is. Make no mistake about it, FLY has had some bangers in the past, and these are right up there with the best of them. For the in-shop release, they even went as far as to create custom plastic bakery containers for each shoe. How dope is that? Congrats to Jeff Han, and the FLY crew for this dope Vans Sk8-Hi!
