Vans Vault x Opening Ceremony – VT Mono Pack (Dec. 2016)

OldSkool1

It looks like Opening Ceremony is back again with another high end monochromatic themed release.  Constructed in the usual premium leather, with tonal vulcanized rubber outsoles, they switched things up a little this time by adding the VT Prison Issue LX to the lineup.  The VT Sk8-Hi LX and VT Old Skool LX are back again as well, in some rich new colors.  We’ve got Bison, Harvest Pumpkin, Beige, Black, and Chive which is my personal favorite.  Each pair breaks the $100 price point a little bit, but you’re getting a top notch Vans shoe, in a highly limited production run, in some classy colorways.  What more could you ask for?  Get on your grown folk steez for a change!  Purchase them all from Opening Ceremony’s webstore, or stop in to one of their retail locations.

HO16_VanDoren_Collection_Ftwr-Beanie_Elevated

Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand brings its 50th anniversary year to a close with a collection that celebrates the brand’s “Off The Wall” heritage. Curated by Vans’ unofficial ambassador of fun, Steve Van Doren, the collection looks back in to the Vans archives to bring forth vintage Vans prints updated with a holiday twist.

Vans revisits its past by reissuing the skull and bones print from the archives and have updated it to include festive candy cane and Santa hats across the Sk8-Hi 38 and Old Skool 36 Reissue silhouettes. The Sidestripe footwear models are finished with a canvas and suede material blend and jolly “Ho Ho Ho 50” decorative laces.

To get you in to the holiday spirit, the Van Doren Approved collection includes festive apparel including the Holidaze longsleeve t-shirt, pullover hoodie and sweater that are adorned with the skull and bones Santa print. Rounding out the holiday arrangement are the Holiday crew socks, Pom beanie and trucker hat, fit for any ugly sweater or festive party occasions.

The Van Doren Approved holiday collection is available to shop globally in Vans retail stores and online at Vans.com now.

Vans and REMIX Taipei have come together to release this collection of four shoes, dubbed the “Against The World” pack.  All 4 pairs are constructed using a mixture of suede and canvas, in two tonal colorways, black or white.  Each pair features subtle custom details, like 3M laces, neon orange or yellow footbeds, woven tongue labels, and printed words “Against The World” on the vulcanized side walls, but the most notable feature are the medial side ankle zippers on the Sk8-Hi, similarly found on the Sophnet. Sk8-Hi’s.  Pretty dope.  Pretty dope.  These are now available from REMIX in Taipei, so if you’re looking for a pair, then get with that Asia proxy ASAP!

showroom-vans-21-30-sk8-hi-old-skool-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Kuala Lumpur’s SHOWROOM has joined forces with Vans for what’s being billed as a “first-of-its-kind” collaborative endeavor. Dubbed “21:30,” the two-piece collection takes on Pro editions of both the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool, transforming them with the nighttime skater in mind by adding the likes of reflective 3M material and Velcro sidestripes that allow the wearer to switch between stark white and Vans’ famed checkerboard motif for added versatility. And since the kicks come in Pro form, each retro silhouette sports modern upgrades like DURACAP technology and ULTRACUSH cushioning.  Capped off with some subtle co-branding and icy outsoles, the “21:30″ release is set to hit the Malaysian skate spot come December 9.”

Words via Hypebeast:

“Golf Wang, known for its poppy and highly saturated designs, has released a pair of special edition Vans Authentics. The iconic silhouette maintains its simple low top, durable canvas upper in cream with the original waffle outsole and Vans flag label. The shoe features multi-colored piping, white metal eyelets, and cartoonish “FLOG GNAW” embroidered on the heel counter, reminiscent of ’90s video game visuals. The CFG 2016 Vans Cream were originally available for $60 USD at the Camp Flog Gnaw festival, but they surprised dropped some pairs on the Golf Wang web store this morning, but have since sold out.”

Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi Collection (Holiday 2016)

taka-hayashi-vault-by-vans-holiday-2016-collection-1

Vault and Taka Hayashi are bringing the heat for Holiday ’16.  There’s a few familiar designs here, but in an opposite fashion, if you will.  The TH Court Hi LX, and TH Court Lo Strap LX, seen above, are revisited in a few new color combos, but two appear to be designed exactly off of models we’ve seen a few seasons back, but in either an opposite Hi or Lo.  Got it?  Moving on.  Taka’s designed a Slip-On and Sk8-Hi in a Nomad version, but this is the debut of the TH Chukka Nomad LX.  The shoe features a Native American inspired moccasin stitch design on the upper and mudguard.  Each shoe features one of  a few of Taka’s signature vulcanized soles, as well as his signature feather logo on the tongue.  Read about his inspiration for this collection, over on Hypebeast, and enjoy the pics after the jump.
