Vault By Vans x RETROSUPERFUTURE – OG Style 43 LX (9.13.19)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_08_retrosuperfuture-vans-og-style-43-lx-sneaker-release-info-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“RETROSUPERFUTURE is teaming up with Vans for a new take on the OG Style 43 LX silhouette.

The collaborative Vans will be available in two colorways: White/”Neon Green” and Black/”Deep Purple.” Retaining the footwear brand’s classic canvas construction, the sneaker’s toe boxes are covered in suede overlays for a textural contrast, lending the sleek shoe a rugged touch. The all-white and black uppers make for a versatile contrast against the eye-catching green and purple semi-transparent soles, which grant the sneakers a playful edge. “RETROSUPERFUTURE” branding graces the sides of the soles, the front of the shoes and the tongue, driving the collaborative nature home.”

Expect the shoes to be released on September 13.

Vault By Vans x OTH – “Chez Nous” ComfyCush Era LX (Available Now!)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_08_vans-oth-chez-nous-collaboration-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Canadian boutique Off the Hook has tapped Vans for a new collaboration to celebrate its hometown of Montreal. The new collection, titled “Chez Nous,” features three new colorways of the ComfyCush Era LX silhouette with luxe leather and suede detailings.

The styles in the Chez Nous collection pay homage to OTH‘s three Montreal shops. Vieux-Montréal is inspired by Montreal’s historic Old Port, with a dark blue exterior to call to mind the Saint Lawrence River that borders the city. The rusty brown Centre-Ville style is named for Montreal’s downtown and evokes the city’s architecture. The Plateau colorway is a thyme green to evoke the leafy green streets of the neighborhood and the famous Mount Royal, for which the city is named.  Like many of OTH’s previous collaborations, the Vans collection hopes to create an authentic celebration of Montreal’s history.”

The Dark Blue and Thyme Green pairs are still available for purchase online.

Vans x size? – “Patchwork III” Bold Ni (8.30.19)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_08_size-vans-bold-ni-patchwork-black-white-asymmetric-collab1

Words via size?:

“We’re no stranger to collaborative releases with the Californian-skate experts over at Vans, and this season we’ve cooked up a silhouette that we’re certain is going to go down a storm. Following on from our Vans Style 36 ‘Patchwork’ exclusive back in 2018, we’re proud to unveil the third instalment of our ‘Factory Floor’ pack – introducing the size? Exclusive Vans Bold Ni ‘Patchwork III’.

In Vans’ early days, customers were able to get their hands on bespoke, handmade shoes whereby they were able to choose what actually went into them. Materials, printed details on the midsole, lace choices; there were seemingly no limits. Once the panels of a regular shoe have been spliced and taken away to construct one solid pair, their unique build meant there were oft leftover scraps; It’s these wasteful cut-offs which serve as the inspiration for part three of our collaborative series.

So to continue the same aesthetic as the first model in the pack, we’ve built this Bold Ni from a monochromatic mash-up of materials that pays homage to the excess bits-and-pieces brushed away onto Vans’ famous Anaheim Factory ground.

Reworking the archival classic, the upper boasts 13 different patterned and textured materials that are scattered across the pair, meaning both the left and right shoes are completely different. There’s hits of Vans’ iconic checkerboard detailing, dogtooth patterning, camo, polka dots, denim and suede, while the Bold Ni’s thick side stripe continues the cut-and-paste design with shaggy pony hair and translucent TPU to the right foot, while a 3M reflective panel and blacked-out denim make up the other. All in all, it’s a real head-turner of a silhouette.

Underfoot, there’s misaligned foxing tape at the back, with a black toe-bumper to carry on the two-tone colour scheme. They’re comfy from the moment you step in too, boasting Vans’ anatomically contoured UltraCush Lite drop-in sockliner, which moulds to the shape of your foot for cloud-like cushioning.

The Vans Bold Ni ‘Patchwork III’ – size? Exclusive will be available via the size? previews app and in size? stores on Friday Friday 30th of August, priced at £70 and available in both men’s and women’s sizes.

Words via Vans:

Vans is excited to partner with longtime pro surfer and Costa Mesa native Alex Knost, bringing to life his creative vision of one of the oldest designs in the brand’s archive, the Style 36 Decon SF.

Always pushing the boundaries of creative expression, most recently spotlighted in his latest film Tan Madonna, Alex’s offbeat take on this classic 1977 Vans silhouette is no surprise. Inspired by the colors and materials found in his 5th generation, ‘80s Coupe de Ville Cadillac, this shoe came to life under Alex’s artistic eye; as such, the Style 36 Decon SF has undergone some serious upgrades, including a glossy, vegan patent leather in a bitter chocolate colorway, for an entirely new and original take on this classic silhouette.

The collection also includes the Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF in the Alex Knost dress blues colorway. Both styles are complete with a timeless natural gum vulcanized sole, and Vans’ UtlraCush insole, upping the ante on comfort.

A part of the Vans family since 2005, Alex is most commonly recognized for his eclectic style, both in and out of the water. From making art and collaborating with fashion labels, to creating music with his band, Tomorrow’s Tulips, and handcrafting his own boards through his personal label, he has a deep influence that extends beyond surfing alone.

Alex’s focus consistently lands on deepening his creative connection to the sport – and is justly reflected in this latest collaboration.

Shop the entire Alex Knost collection now at Vans authorized retailers and online at Vans.com/surf.

Billy Bulldog’s Official T-Shirt Debut Is Here! (Pre-Order)

BackUTPBilly1White

I know, I know.  It’s been years since we’ve had a proper t-shirt of our own, right?  The last tees with any official Under The Palms branding or logos were the ones we had done with Hot Rod, and damn that was like 2 years and some change, I think?  Well, enough about that, and hopefully this will be a great start.  So without further a do, check it out…

Billy Bulldog’s debut is finally available on a tee! Featuring a headshot of Billy with our beloved crossbones on the back, with a vintage UTP chest hit on the front. The “black on black” colorway is low-key, yet full of attitude. All pre-orders will come with a collectible UTP sticker-pak, while supplies last.

Pre-order will run for ONE WEEK and end on 8/28/19 midnight PST, then it will be closed for-ev-errr. Only new colors will be printed in the future, so if you love black/black graphics like we do, then don’t sleep! This may be a collector’s item one day. Once the pre-order is closed, we will submit our order, which typically involves a 2-3 week turnaround time, so please be patient! Actual streetwear brands do this shit without telling you, and then just end up pissing off a bunch of folks, so thanks for understanding and for crowd-funding this project! Hopefully it leads to more cool tees! -Guamstyles

(printed on premium 6.5 oz Shaka Retro Heavyweight 100% combed ring-spun USA cotton blanks, some of the “softest without being thin” tees out there on the market! Trust me, I ordered a blank for myself to test out, and they’re all I’ll be going with now, when I do black or white tees, even if they cost twice the price of your typical Gildan/ALStyle blank!)
