With all experiences, sometimes things go sideways—and that’s when the real adventure begins. And, it’s when you need reliable support. With this in mind, Vans developed the new UltraRange EXO, a shoe that would not only stand up to the journey but keep you comfortable in the most uncomfortable of situations.

The latest evolution of Vans’ go-anywhere UltraRange, the UltraRange EXO is an all-around upgrade designed to deliver prolonged comfort, reliable grip and increased durability. To highlight the latest collection, photographer Matthew Correia followed creative expressors – visual artist John Zabawa, musician Lee-Ann Curren, visual artist Upendo and photographer Jennifer Bin — through the streets of Lisbon and Jakarta, capturing the unplanned moments along the way.

This season, a breathable, deconstructed, Old Skool-inspired upper gets reinforced with a molded heel to eliminate heel slippage. The redesigned co-molded UltraCush® Lite midsole and full rubber-wrapped reverse waffle lug outsole maximize traction, grip and durability while maintaining lightweight versatility. And the all-new, EXO skeleton provides built-in support across the toes and medial sidewall, with a heel lock for a secure fit and UltraCush® tongue with breathability ports for superior airflow.

With superior traction, all-day comfort and a durable construction, the all-new UltraRange EXO is the ultimate shoe for those on the move.

The UltraRange EXO is available now by clicking on the pic above.

Vans x Noah – Sk8-Hi Decon Suede Pack (Jan 2020)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_01_noah-vans-sk8-hi-decon-petrol-tobacco-release-004

Vans has gotten together with Noah NY to create two Sk8-Hi Decons in an all suede make-up.  Available in either a Tobacco or Petrol colorway, with silver lace eyelets, and custom Noah branding on the tongue tag.  Very minimalistic, yet the colorways are original, so when you see someone rocking these out in the streets, you’ll know they know what’s up.  These are currently sold out on their webstore, but perhaps they still have a few in-store and sometimes they do restock online, so check back often.

LBIFBACK Review: Vans Vault OG Classic Slip-On LX Suede/Shearling (Bison/Chipmunk)

Once again, another awesome review by the official LBIFBACK.  First of all, I wanted to congratulate him and his wife Heather, on their new little one, and I hope all’s well bro!  This time he brings us the Suede/Shearling OG Classic Slip-On LX from Vans Vault, in the Bison/Chipmunk cw.  Our homie Daniel brings the best reviews in my opinion.  Very informative, precise, and he knows what he’s talking about.  An Under The Palms OG, who we all can vouch for.  100% certified Wafflehead!

VANS Sk8-Hi – CUT IN HALF (Video Review by Rose Anvil)

Check out this dope video by Rose Anvil, who make fine leather goods, where they dissect a general release version of the Sk8-Hi, by cutting it in half, exposing all of the layers that make up the insole, and the uppers of the entire shoe.  This type of stuff is always fascinating to me, and just figured I’d share it with y’all.

Vault By Vans – OG Era LX Checkerboard (Available now @blends!)

Look what we have here!  The infamous OG Era LX in the black/white Checkerboard print has returned!  Made famous by Jerry, and his cult following of Foggbois, this single shoe reignited everyone’s love for the checkerboard, resulting in shoes like the Gold Coast Authentics to be the consolation prize to these, as not many shops stocked this Vault version back then, and for good reason.  The checkerboard was loud, obnoxious, and an all-over print?!  Get outta’ here with that!  BUT we all came around, and we surely embrace it’s heritage now days, and we gladly welcome this pair back, and don’t sleep on the opportunity to own one of the most iconic shoes that Vault has ever created.  Jerry approved!

GET THEM NOW FROM BLENDS or from your local Vault dealer when they get them.

EDIT:  30 minutes later and they’re all sold out.  Sorry!  I guess people are really hunting for these.

SP20_Classics_VN0A4BTWVLV_Sk8Hi_Stacked_CheckTruWht_Pair

Vans kicks off the New Year and brings back the Stacked Pack showcasing an elevated take on the brand’s time-honored footwear silhouettes.  The latest installment of the Stacked Pack includes four of Vans’ Classic styles reinterpreted with a platform construction and dressed in an oversized rendition of Vans’ iconic Checkerboard pattern.

The hero of the assortment comes from the Era Stacked, which is an elevated version of the classic silhouette designed with an exaggerated platform layered with gum rubber at the toe bumper and heel counter and coupled with a sawtooth outsole. The Sk8-Hi and Old Skool take on the overstated outsole and are each complimented by suede uppers and accented with a full grain leather Sidestripe. The Vans Classic Slip-On completes the four-piece offering with an all-over execution of the reworked heritage print and the two-inch platform outsole.

Vans x Zhao Zhao – Year of the Rat (Jan. 2020)

SP20_YearOfTheRat_GROUP

Words via Hypebeast & Pics via Vansfans:

“Vans has just given us a look at its Lunar New Year “Year of the Rat” collection. With a little over a month until Chinese New Year 2020, we take a look at the three models that are part of the special pack. Arriving in the form of the Sk8-Hi, Era Lacey, and Comfycush Slip-Skool, Vans has elected to work with Beijing/Los Angeles-based artist Zhao Zhao.

The former assistant to Ai Weiwei has chosen to interpret the daily travels of a city rat onto each pair. Each sneaker adorns the perspective of a street rat and the various city elements the animal is exposed to while foraging on a daily basis. The pack is comprised of three silhouettes; the Vans Era, constructed in monotone suede with a conceptualized rat hole penetrating from toe to heel; the Sk8-Hi, made to resemble a network for underground tunnels; and finally, the Comfycush Slip-Skool, which sees a network graphic upper under a translucent layer. All three pairs feature a multi-layered Vans “Off the Wall” rubber heel stamp that is meant to signify the rat’s tail.”

These are starting to release across Asia, but a few US spots have also received these, like Hot Rod, and The Darkside Initiative, so ask around if you’re looking for these!

Vans Anaheim Factory – “Fast Times” Slip-On 98 DX (Coming Soon!)

[fbvideo link=”https://www.facebook.com/UNDERTHEPALMS/videos/490942768229813/” width=”620″ height=”620″ onlyvideo=”1″]

This is probably the biggest news we’ve received this decade!!!  Vans is bringing back the most rare and coveted shoe by us Vans collectors, the Fast Times Slip-On!  They did it right, by making it an Anaheim Factory shoe as well, staying as close to the original Made In USA pair as possible, right down to the custom “Fast Times” vulcanized scene tape graphic.  Not sure about you, but I’m gonna need like 4 pairs!  Rumors say these are either coming next month, or in March, and we are not sure if Vans will set a hard release date for these, since they haven’t done that with any Anaheim release just yet, but they just might need to with the hype that this release is surely going to bring.  I’ve already been hit up by some friends to see about doing a cool release party for these, but that’s pretty dependent on having a specific release date.  Anyways, we don’t have any info yet, just a teaser put out by Vans, so enjoy!

Vans Japan x 2nd Magazine – Horween Cordovan Leather Loafer (Japan Only!)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2019_12_2nd-magazine-vans-horween-loafer-collaboration-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“In October 2018, 2nd and Vans dropped navy and veg-tanned cordovan leather iterations of a special loafer sneaker, utilizing detail-oriented craftsmanship to create two shoes that hybridized quality and contemporary design. For Lightning‘s collaborative festivities, the duo have prepared another lavish edition of the bespoke slip-on sneakers, with a similarly imposing price tag.

This time, the pair have imagined the sneaker in black cordovan leather sourced from Horween, Chicago’s inimitable leather tannery. Cordovan leather is sourced from the rear end of horses, providing a solid, shiny leather coveted by traditional shoemakers for decades.

These aren’t the first Horween leather sneakers — nor are they the first Horween Vans — but these loafers are the first Vans to boast thick, glossy cordovan leather. Everything from the leather sockliner and insole to the hangtag on the upper is considered, accompanied by a custom set of printed shoe trees so as to ensure the longevity of the opulent sneakers.

The collaborative Horween cordovan loafer is only available on 2nd‘s website until the end of January, with each made-to-order sneaker available for ¥100,000 JPY (approximately $920 USD) apiece. The previous collaboration sold out swiftly, so expect this joint effort to follow suit, with the completed sneakers set to ship in April 2020.”
