“Back in the ’80s and ’90s, Vans’ founding family, the Van Dorens, created exclusive kicks for the Disneyland amusement park in Southern California. Now, Disney and Vans are set to drop a collaborative collection as a nod to their rich history. Teased above, the range is set to kick off with a nod to Disney’s iconic spotted canines. Stay tuned for a full look at the collaborative homage to 101 Dalmatians early next week and expect a release at select Vans stockists this October”.

For the Holiday 2015 season, Vans brings to us this premium Sk8-Mid in a fresh new moccasin theme. Vans went for the smoother deconstructed look, using minimal pieces of material for the uppers, replacing panels with stitches, that show off the Sk8-Mid’s familiar look. Vans opted for a solid leather ankle wrap instead of the more commonly used fringe style that we’re used to seeing on most moc styles which was the right call in my opinion. Although the information that is out now doesn’t say these are California’s, it sure does look like they are, judging by the heel tabs, materials, and overall premium look. What are your thoughts on these? They should be out soon. Keep your eyes peeled.

The 3rd and final shoe to join this year’s Vans Vault x WTAPS pack is the OG Sk8-Hi LX. This time, they will feature a suede upper with a nubuck croc-skin material on the side panels. Available in a black/grey colorway, as well as an all black version. Will these be more successful than last year’s model? Will it depend on which celebrity helps boost it’s popularity? We’ll just have to wait and see.
