Vans Vault has teamed up with Ssense on an eco-friendly considered collection, under the VR3 program.  Each pair is constructed with recycled materials, most notably the EcoCush insoles, and Treaded EcoWaffle outsole.

The pack consists of a White Authentic VR3 LX, a Taupe Era VR3 LX, and a Green & White Checkerboard Classic Slip-On VR3 LX, and Ssense went the extra mile and included a drawer box, constructed of 100% recycled materials and features graphics created by the SSENSE design team, along with Vans.  Such a refreshing take on a Vault collaboration.

All 3 pairs retail for $100, and are available now on Ssense’s webstore.

Vault By Vans x Taka Hayashi – Collection (Fall/Winter 2022)

Under The Palm’s favorite in-house designer for Vans Vault, Taka Hayashi, is back with some new heaters.  This collection is unlike anything he’s put out previously, and we definitely aren’t mad at that.  There’s a good amount of earthy tones, wildlife-inspired and camo print patterns, as well as contrasting materials and stitching throughout.

The current collection consists of an OG Old Skool LX, OG Style 50 LX, and OG Style 48 LX.  It’s hard to describe them, so just look at the pics!  Each pair also features Taka’s signature wax seal heel plate, which is one of the more recent updates that we are a fan of.

The Old Skool retails for $130, and the Style 50 and Style 48 both retail for $120, each.

Vans Vault has been hard at work lately, and the next set to show up is the Raw Edge pack.  This pair of OG Old Skool LXs come constructed in heavy-duty canvas, and feature a distinct frayed raw edge around the welt.  Pretty different I’d say.

These are available in two colorways: Black and Off-White, and retail for $90.

Here’s a nice and simple Slip-On from the Vault Originals line, featuring a classic and classy pattern.  The 10oz. canvas features an all-over print of tiny Vans logos, with embroidered polka dots.  That’s it!  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  Just perfect, if you ask me.

These are available in 3 colorways: Black, Blue, and our favorite, Green.  Each pair retails for $85, respectively, and should start showing up at your local Vault stockists soon.

Vault by Vans x Palm Angels – Collection (9.27.22)

thumbnail_image002

Vault by Vans joins forces with Palm Angels Founder and Creative Director, Francesco Ragazzi to pay homage to skate culture. The three-piece capsule is a representation of a design approach that celebrates freedom and individuality all grounded in skate culture. The Vault by Vans x Palm Angels collaboration will launch on September 27 exclusively via Palm Angels followed by a global release for select Vault by Vans retailers on October 1.

Palm Angels fosters a liberated way of being, free from constructs, glorifying the uniqueness of individuals and a personal approach to life, since its beginning. The skateboarding scene has always been a primary reference for the brand, with roots grounded in images shot by Francesco Ragazzi and published in 2014, in Venice beach in Los Angeles.

“Palm Angels started with a photography book and Vans was already there. I took a picture of a guy skating in Venice beach, wearing the most vintage Vans Sk8-Hi I had ever seen and since then, the idea of Palm Angels collaborating with Vans has always been in my mind. It’s now finally reality. With this collection I wanted to recreate exactly that same image: few models with a vintage feeling and a contemporary take“, says Francesco Ragazzi, founder, and Creative Director of Palm Angels.

The collection is curated from meticulously chosen materials that are featured on the Sk8-Hi VLT LX, Sk8- Mid VLT LX, and the Old Skool LX. Each style has been reinterpreted with the Palm Angels codes: red, grey, white, and black, with the Palm Angels logo appearing on the side of the shoes, recreating the iconic Vans Sidestripe. An old-school touch occurs in the images of the campaign, where used and consumed sneakers portray a story of dramatic jumps and movements on the skateboard, capturing the effortless style and culture.

The Palm Angels x Vault by Vans collaboration will launch on September 27 exclusively on palmangels.com and at select Palm Angels stores worldwide.

Beginning October 1, the capsule will be available at select Vault by Vans retailers worldwide. For more information, please visit palmangels.com.

About PALM ANGELS

An art director trained in fashion communication and a photographer; Milan-born Francesco Ragazzi started Palm Angels in 2011 as a photographic documentation of LA’s skater culture. The endeavor evolved into a book, published by Rizzoli in 2014, and subsequently into clothing in 2015. Palm Angels stems from an Italian take on American culture and subcultures. It merges an appreciation for sartorial codes and a joy for fabric with a proclivity for using clothing as identity tropes and cultural signifiers. Palm Angels is essentially a vision, with a real human being behind it.

Vans Skateboarding Presents ‘Onward’: An All-New Skate Film from Lizzie Armanto

Lizzie’s first full-length edit in nearly five years highlights her one-of-a-kind style and solidifies her position among skateboarding’s best

Watch the Global Digital Premiere of ‘Onward’ today

at 5 PM PST

Those who know Vans pro skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, know that her barrier-breaking approach to skateboarding has shifted the landscape. Her accolades, like appearing on the world stage to represent the sport, speak for themselves and make her a role model for skateboarders everywhere. Expanding on her list of accomplishments, Vans, the global leader in skateboarding for more than 50 years, is proud to unveil a fresh angle on Lizzie’s world-class skateboarding in a new film, Onward, directed by celebrated filmmaker Greg Hunt and filmed by master lensmen Chris Gregson and TJ Gaskill.

The first full-length edit from Lizzie in nearly five years, Onward showcases what Lizzie has become known for—her humble, hard-working approach, one-of-a-kind style, and tenacity to make any trick a reality.

“It’s been incredible to see Lizzie overcome her injuries and get to where she’s at now,” Hunt said. “And it’s so much fun to work with Chris Gregson’s and TJ Gaskill’s footage. I’m really excited to see this come together.”

The goal was to create a film as visually exciting as Lizzie’s skating, adds Gregson, noting that they drew inspiration from her love for traveling, which is represented in the various locations Onward was filmed, as well as spending time with a close-knit group of her friends and fellow skateboarders. Featuring appearances from Mami Tezuka and Axel Cruysberghs, the film drives home Lizzie’s gratitude to the skate community and her ultimate support system of friends and family.

In anticipation of the film’s premiere, Lizzie shared the following about what the project has meant to her: In the past, filming felt like I was trying to prove I was ‘good enough’. I feel like this part has been about proving that to myself, and that I am stronger than my injuries. Everyone involved in the project has been a huge motivator. We kept the crew small. My favorite thing is that everyone’s passionate about what they’re doing, and it’s been contagious.”

Earlier this season, Vans and Lizzie dropped a new, head-to-toe collection that leads with her first signature skateboarding silhouette, The Lizzie. The offering opens the aperture on what inclusive, all-gender footwear and apparel looks like, and reinforces that skateboarding should be open to everyone.

Tune in at 5 PM today at vans.com/lizzie for the global premiere of Vans Skateboarding’s Onward, featuring Lizzie Armanto.

Vault By Vans x Slam Jam – OG Sk8-Hi Reissue LX (9.22.22)

https-__hypebeast.com_image_2022_09_slam-jam-vans-sk8-hi-black-ecru-canvas-suede-collaboration-skateboarding-release-information-16

Info via Hypebeast:

“Understood as the undisputed king of skate culture footwear, the Vans Sk8-Hi is an instantly recognizable classic that has surpassed trends, standing the test of time as a sneaker that transcends any sort of regimented fashions. Instead, a Sk8-Hi is a sneaker for the masses, and with that, a sneaker that’s capable of acting as a blank canvas for creatives, fashion houses and brands alike.

This is where Slam Jam comes in, adding its distinctive punkish undertones alongside touches that make this pair fit into the label’s (Un)Corporate Uniform ideology. The sneaker now sports an inverted internal and external colorway, with black suede meeting ecru canvas across the uppers, sitting alongside branded waxed laces, a Slam Jam mid-panel tag, leather Vans stripes, and an upside-down circular “A” emblem embossed into the rear heel cups.

Elsewhere, the waffle outsole is decorated with a heavy-duty ink graphic designed by the British artist Fergus “Fergadelic” Purcell, who took inspiration from ’70s psychedelia. Combined, the shoe is a commentary on counter-culture, tapping into both Slam Jam’s identity and what skate communities stand for.”
