Thanks D. I will let you know if I find any around.

@chukkaboot Yeah I wonder that myself. This pair has the original box, and accessories, so they definitely produced a small amount. I've only ever heard of about 3-4 size 9's floating around, a 10, a 10.5, and once someone said they saw a 12. So they're around but I have no clue how many were made before production was stopped.

What is the official story behind the gold wings? I always thought they were samples, but I guess they were in limited production? Any idea why it was stopped? Or was it planned? Friends and family kind of thing? So many questions! haha

Also, are you gonna skate 'em, Jesse? haha

As far as I know, there are more samples than there are production pairs with boxes, og stuff, etc. They scrapped them from production very early on. No shops received shipments of them, just the sample pairs which of course made it to friends and family. I watch things pretty closely and have personally only known of about 6-7 total pairs from ranges 8-12. My theory is that they stoped making them because A. Vans and Wtaps thought they wouldn't sell as well and B. They maybe wanted to keep them limited yet known about? I don't know. They never changed the release photo of the trio to a shot that showed only the black and white, which of course left room for others to speculate about the 3rd colorway. No other S release has dropped with vanssyndicate.com showing pictures of a sample pair in the line up. It's really hard to say, no one I've ever spoked to about it knew the full story. There are pairs from time to time and that's all that's truly known. If anyone else has any insight I'd love to hear it because I'm curious.

Does your pair say sample under the tongue?

I just want to state the obvious here.. these are a pair of solid mustard colored Vans.
Not trying to hate or anything, especially knowing some of you have these on your bucket list, but my thought is a solid mustard shoe probably isnt going to be the most popular shoe out there, therefore cut our losses and scrap the shoe.

just sayn..

Thanks I was happy to get these. They came from Gravity Pope in Canada. Shipping to USA is $20 but they were on sale so was still a good deal around $40 shipped. It looks like they may have 1 more pair size 11.5 on their website if anyone else is interested.

I gave my Dad the red pair of Donny Millers I picked up at The Rack a few years back, and it's all he ever wears, lol. They're so dorky, but dope at the same time.
