sneak peek at s/s '13.
the engineer boots look to be shearling lined, they are now vibram'd, and they have a rear zip! these are a must buy for me, my engineers are my most rocked vans nowadays, but they were a bitch to break in (which the zip will help with).
those vibram-soled lows look interesting, sort of have an iron-worker safety boot type aesthetic goin'...
no-skools with a vulc-wrapped toe? i'll pass, but i like the slimmed down quarter panels. the colors on these are positively 'un-taka' haha.
the wallee look-alikes are ok, better than when just the white ones were floating around. i'll pass unless those brown and denims (?) are amazing in person though.
i still haven't seen a full reveal of those ripple soled military-type boots... anyone?

Sigh... why couldn't he just take a season off of trying to re-invent the Vault line with all these new models and just go back to detailing some of the classics? I get that he's trying to push the Vault line into a different direction, but I feel like hes not giving us enough diversity with these models. Sure those toe cap "Sk8-Hi's?" have a flare of the classic Vans design, but I feel like it's not enough. It seems like he's more-so trying to bring in a new crowd as opposed to keeping his old.. Just give us one season Taka, take us back. Remember, this is still a Vans shoe your working with, you don't have your own company yet.

Brutally honest, and right on the nose.
Ive just felt like alot of the newness in models across the board are taking away from something i really enjoyed about vans...constant nostalgia in more flavors than u can count. But i dont ABSOLUTELY hate the whole "new wave" situation yet..it juss aint hit me.
When people see my feet in the street i would prefer they know exactly what brand my feet are, then rack their brains about how i gotem in that color/pattern/material ect. Vs. Them not being quite so impressed because they dont know.what brand they came from...or worse!!!! They think its some brand i DONT represent...!!!!

mack and Daniel are on point today. Those are all the reasons why we aren't buying 90% of them. We bought into the Akat, and the Derby, because they followed that Native American influence, which is/was his iconic style. He's not about that Native spirit anymore. Perhaps he feels he did it do death? Maybe he should just drop subtle hints of it, then. Nobody else is really touching on that with shoes. Clothing is another story though...everybody still has a Native American piece or two in their lineup.

Honestly I think he is adding a little pop.
The latest Trek Lows with Horween Leathers have the little design around the ankle. I think i'm gonna get the Light Brown.

I see Native American influence in every single one of those...

The white pair is actually pretty awesome... But I don't know about that brown. And I'd definitely do a lace swap. All the other pairs have way too much brown for my liking. The colors are fine, I just am not a big fan of brown 99% of the time.

The white is the coolest one for me. Should've went with either one of the patterns though. And as far as native american influence, I think these could use more of it.
