“After releasing the “Art of Lettering” with Mister Cartoon earlier this fall, we teamed up with our Parisian OTW Advocate, Dimitri Coste, for a new book project that captures the photographer and filmmaker’s passion for vintage motorcycle racing. Shot at the magnificent Catalina Grand Prix, the West Coast’s most historical motorcycle race, the lookbook photos follow Dimitri around the island as he competes in his first international race. Our film crew was on hand for the event as well, documenting Coste’s race preparation and domination.”

“As Brooklyn-based art studio Morning Breath prepared for its recent art show “Manos Extranos” (strange hands), Vans OTW was on hand to capture the excitement and mounting pressure. The show took place at the White Walls gallery in San Francisco, California, and was an exhibition of paintings comprised of silk screens and freehand work, the results of which are visually stunning. Luckily as viewers, this video allows us to see a lot of the processes and hard work that went into each piece, even if it means that artist Doug “retires” halfway through every show. Based on these paintings, we hope his threats continue to be nothing more than bluffs.”
It looks like Levi Maestro’s going to be getting his very own shoe from Vans Vault. He chose to go with the Old Skool Deconstruct. Well, there’s no official information as of yet, or if the shoe in the video is his actual project, but the featured shoe is a deconstructed Old Skool, in tonal navy premium leather and suede, sitting on top of an all-white mid-sole. Peep the video below, and stay tuned for more info to come!

Our fellow OTWS friend and member, Tom aka Samcolt12, has made his own mark in our sneaker culture by providing us with endless amounts of video sneaker reviews. He’s another guy, like myself, who picks up just about every Vans Syndicate release, and I’m thankful he does, so we’re not all stuck with purely picture reviews! Here’s his latest Vans pickups, the Syndicate x Greg Hunt series. Enjoy!

“Epitomizing the core vision and foundation of the Vans DQM General Store, a video seen here offers a recap featuring an interview with DQM owner Chris Keefe and the concept’s launch. The video showcases the special opening day in-store event for press, friends and family, with an intimate performance by Ray Barbee and The Mattson 2. Culminating that evening, a launch event was hosted at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, with a concert by Suicidal Tendencies.”
