Vans Vault – Old Skool ‘Heavy Metal’ Pack (Spring 2011)

Check out these new Old Skools from Vault, coming in the Spring.  The Old Skool is becoming a crowd favorite, and with releases like these, how can you not be?  For the upcoming release, Vault chose to construct the Old Skool in a suede/canvas combo, with a snakeskin wave stripe.  These will be available in the following colorways: “Elephant/Black/Gold”, “Mars/Black/Copper”, and “Royal/Silver”, each sitting on a white midsole.  Who else needs these?!

Vans Vault Mid Skool 77 – Spring 2011

For Spring 2011, Vans Vault is bringing back the Mid Skool 77.   A personal favorite of mine, ever since my first pair by way of the Syndicate Desert Camo Mid Skool.  This time, they chose to do these up in the original shape (hence the 77 moniker), using premium leathers, and in colorways that are right on point.  What else would you expect from the Vault dept.?  Prior Mid Skools had that 80s vibe, but these not so much.  With colorways like Red/Black, White/Blue, and Black/White, these will fit in just fine!  Expect these to be out around March, at your local Vault dealer.

Vans Vault Sk8-Hi TH LX (Spring 2011)

Another new Taka Hayashi release is on it’s way, and once again a Sk8-Hi is chosen as the base model, but as we all know, with most of Taka’s work, they will look nothing like your run-of-the-mill base shoe.  Taka puts so many details, and unique materials on to the shoe, that the average person doesn’t even know they’re a pair of Vans!  These will be available in 3 colorways: Navy, Honey, and Black.  All constructed with ostrich leather, and sitting on top of the same signature soles that Taka has been using for a few seasons now.  Don’t expect these to last long once they drop at your local Vault dealer in February.

Vans Vault 2011 Spring Sk8-Hi Boat LX

A new hybrid model from Vans, by way of Vault, is this Sk8-Hi Boat LX.  Concocted from a Sk8-Hi, and a Zapato Del Barco, to create this pretty nice looking piece.  The materials, and colors give it that final touch that may have it contending for next year’s top 10 favorites.  The pair seen here is done up in a premium navy leather, with brown leather laces, while sitting atop a white classic vulcanized sole.  Another colorway can be seen after the jump.  Are these a must cop?

Vans Vault Spectator LX (2011 Spring)

Another new one, from the Vault team, is this Spectator LX for Spring 2011.  This time choosing a natural look, with the tonal tan premium leather, and a gum sole version, and the gray and black model as well.  These are looking pretty clean, I must say.

Vans Vault – Derby TH LX (Spring 2011)

Finally more Taka Hayashi joints to show you!  This Spring, Taka Hayashi is delivering another new model from Vans, known as the Derby.  This oxford style shoe is constructed of premium suede, and is available in a few colorways, like this tan one, and black one, seen here.  Taka’s Native American influence can be seen in the triangle perforations all over the shoe.  Another interesting thing to note, is the crepe sole, which has been popular this season, for unconventional shoes.  They’re not just for Wallabe’s anymore!  What do you think?  Ready to step up your business casual game with these?

Vans Vault 106 MOC LX Spring 2011

For Spring 2011, Vans Vault is introducing this never before seen, hybrid model.  They took your standard 106 model, and gave it that boat shoe touch, by adding the typical toe-stitching found on the Zapato Del Barco, and Chukka Del Barco.  Seen here are the 3 colorways.  The Mahogany colorway is done up in Nubuck.  The Golden Brown in suede, and the  Black in Premium leather/suede combo.   Each have leather laces, and color-matching double-wide foxing stripes.  These are due out in the Spring at your local Vault dealers.

Vans Vault x Brooks Era (review)

The most recent Vault release from Vans, the Brooks Era, has been steadily moving off of shelves for the past few weeks, but maybe these pics will help the remaining pairs disappear.  At first look, the shoe doesn’t seem to have a lot of details, but as most press info, some minor, yet important details seem to get overlooked.  In this case, it wasn’t anything cosmetic, but rather, with the technology incorporated into the shoes.  Being that these were co-designed with Brooks bicycle saddle company, it was natural that they incorporated some sort of technology for the bicyclists they cater to.  Thus the introduction of the Power Transfer insole plate, which delivers better performance due to the stiffened plate that lays underneath the padded insert.  Also, due to this added layer, the shoes run snug, and you should size up at least half.  The leather is stiff, so it most likely won’t be stretching.  The leather is top quality, and the inside of the shoe is lined with suede, in case you like to ride with no socks…eww!  Also, don’t forget that these are limited to 2000 pairs, each individually numbered.  Don’t sleep!

Vans Vault x Brooks England heads up!

The Vans Vault x Brooks England release has started showing up at random shops, starting earlier this month.  The Era shoe, and the saddle are sold separately.  The first SoCal local shops to receive these were Blends.  In NorCal, it was Bows & Arrows.  On the East coast, Bodega released theirs this past weekend.  In the UK, End Clothing received theirs about 2 weeks ago, but have since sold out.  This coming weekend, HUF Hayes and L.A. will be releasing them in-store only.  Understandable, with the limited production run of 1000, each being individually numbered, however most shops are willing to help out those in search of them, over the phone.  I will post up any new info here, so check back every now and then.  By the way, the shoes MSRP is $100, and the saddle that is also available is $200.  Not bad for a limited run, NUMBERED, Vault release.
