Vans Vault – Sk8-Hi Boat LX (Fall 2011)

For the Fall season, Vault has decided to drop the hybrid model, the Sk8-Hi Boat LX again.  This time in a Birch, and a Navy colorway.  Both colorways are done up primarily in suede, but with a canvas toe, in a lighter contrasting color.  These are out now at Bows & Arrows, and possibly your own local Vault dealer.

Vans Vault – Chukka Standard Issue LX (Fall 2011)

The newest release to surface from Vans Vault, are these Chukka Standard Issue LX’s for the Fall season.  This is the second time that Vault has gone with the “Standard Issue” military-inspired theme, previously seen on the Sk8-Hi.  Highsnobiety took a few snap shots of this gray pair.  Some notable things to mention on these, is the wool upper with the canvas reinforced side-panel, as well as the premium leather toe.  Also notice how they’ve colormatched the double-wide foxing stripe, with the toe, and the midsole, with the wool material.  These are finished off with a striped inner lining, and square leather laces.

Vault x Ludwig Van “Mary Jane – sz12” (Wolfstrice09’s new pickup!)

So the other day, Thane (Wolfstrice09) hit me up, asking me if he could have something delivered to me, to send to him, due to shipping prices by the seller of a particular item.  I had no idea what it was yet.  Naturally, I was suspicious, and raised a few concerns, and eventually he gave in, and let me know what he had coming.  He got the ONLY pair of size 12, Mary Jane Era’s from the Ludwig Van collection!!!  May I remind you, there are only 5 pairs of this shoe in existence, and only one of each size, so this is a definite one of a kind, collector’s piece.  Thane had spoke with Mike Dytri, from Ludwig Van, about purchasing these, and supposedly made him an offer, and they agreed on a deal.  Smash cut to today, and Mike was knocking on my door, personally delivering these gems!  I feel like such an ass for not introducing myself at the Conveyor party, so he could be like “oh, it’s you!”  but I’m not one of those guys, to just walk up to people I don’t know, especially when all their friends are there celebrating the release with him!  I can’t believe nobody bought these from the Ludwig Van webstore, either!  The $420 price tag was a decent deal, for arguably, the best pattern in the entire series!  I’m just glad I got to physically touch a pair of them, let alone my size, as well!  Don’t worry Wolfs, I didn’t try them on!  Anyways, nobody else from OTWS deserves these more than Thane, because he has every pattern offered in a sz12 of the Ludwig Van project, and this is just the icing on the cake.  Congrats homie!

Vans Vault x Ludwig Van – Deadstock Canvas Project “Mary Janes”

Words via HighSnobiety:

“Ludwig Van has released a super rare pair of Vault by Vans Deadstock Canvas Project “Mary Jane” printed shoes. “This is ONE pair of only FIVE PAIRS IN EXISTENCE. It really needs no more explanation. This is strictly for the real collector…or the “baller” as it were. Lil’ Wayne was sweating us for them but we DENIED his request.” The sneaker comes with a matching belt and various other ephemera. You can’t say we didn’t fill our 420 quota today.”

Dead.Stock: Erwin’s 2004 Vault Sk8-Hi “Rasta 420”

Happy 420 to all you smokers out there!  We got a sick 420-themed feature for you all!  OTWS member Erwin recently submitted these photos to me, of his Vault Sk8-Hi Rasta’s from 2004, and today seems appropriate to unveil them to you all.  Most Vans releases that include marijuana prints, include rumors of being unreleased, or taken down from shelves, but somehow there always seems to be a few that get out there, and that’s sort of the legend with these as well.  A few pairs have popped up on eBay in the past, and have sold for a fairly high amount, but there is almost no back history that we can find on these.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated, because we are dying to know more about them.  Until we can provide a proper story for these funky, loud, and dope shoes, just enjoy the pics from Erwin!

Vans Vault – Brooks Era FAKES!!! (Maroon & Navy)

One of our OTWS members, Wolfstrice09, came across these Brooks Era samples, and after investigating a little bit, we now know these pics came from Boundlezz.  These two colorways never made it to retail production, but would these have been a must have, if released?

Edit:  One of our Malaysian members, Joni_Loco brought it to my attention that these are most likely fakes, because he found a site that offers these for sale, in full sized runs, and they are known for selling fake Vans.  That site is SneakersLover.  Most of their models are low-key general release, or CA collection, but the Syndicate 005 Navy W)Taps Eras gave it away!  If our OTWS members didn’t span worldwide, then we would’ve probably never been able to catch this!  Thanks Izam!
