Dressed in a winter seasonal colorway, the chocolate brown upper hails from Chicago’s very own Horween, while the design takes a chapter out of the classic cap toe boot. The leather upper, vintage tanned laces, and bronze eyelets complement the durable coffee brown midsole and light burnished leather heel pull, presenting another installment of progressive footwear from Vans.”

“Vans Vault offers up three new versions of the Buffalo Boot LX, Era LX and Old Skool LX silhouettes for Winter 2012.  Adding a touch of inspiration pulled from the Western Coast of Scotland known as the Outer Hebrides where Harris Tweed has been crafted for centuries, the shoes employ the fabric on the uppers to go with aged metal eyelets and square-cut hide laces.  Offered in a bronze khaki colorway with premium Horween leather detailing on both the Buffalo boot and Old Skool LX, the entire collection hits stores in December.”

“In an interesting collaboration, Vans Vault has gotten together with Italian shoe maker Diemme on the Buffalo Boot LX. Diemme presents the Buffalo Boot in an outdoor aesthetic inspired by their own Roccia Vet silhouette, rebuilding the vulcanized model with welted construction methods. Waterproof suede uppers, gusseted tongue, Vibram outsole, metal hardware and heavy duty hiker laces are utilized in this collaborative redesign for complete protection against the elements. Finished off with debossed co-branding, the Vault by Vans x Diemme Buffalo Boot LX ships this month in root and black/mouton offerings. Look for more Vault projects with Diemme in spring 2013.”

The Sierra Trek Lo LX is back, from Vans Vault and Taka Hayashi.  Constructed in premium Horween leather, in a similar make-up as the last drop, but this time, sitting on top of a funky new saw-tooth ripple sole.  These are available in either Black, or Brown, with some nice embossed designs around the ankle collar.  Are these a definite cop, or a pass for you?  Available soon at your local Vault dealer.

“In celebration of Taka Hayashi’s unique designs, Vans showcased product from the Vault creative’s Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 capsules on at the Vans DQM General in New York’s SoHo District. For his special trunk show, Hayashi exhibited a few of his hand drawn art pieces on store walls and created several unique displays including a birdhouse installation for the front window. Loyal Vans DQM patrons filled the shop for the chance to meet Taka Hayashi and check out his current collection of silhouettes alongside next season’s offerings of premium footwear and apparel.”
