“In a project paying homage to Danish design, we have curated a 3 way collaborative project with Kvadrat, Vans and Poul Kjærholm entitled “Stoflighed”.  Textile producer Kvadrat has supplied Tundra and Tonica fabrics for Vans Era and Chukka models. Both fabrics were selected for their rich tones and textural qualities.  To accompany the release, Kvadrat fabrics were equally applied to 2 classic pieces of furniture, the PK80 daybed and PK91 folding stool from Danish architect Poul Kjærholm.

“We are excited to announce a special project that we have been working on over the last few months. Along with a Pop-Up Shop celebrating their 10 year anniversary, we have worked with Vault by Vans and put together a capsule collection of classic Vans footwear in the style of Engineered Garments. The two main themes running throughout this project is the subtle approach and differences commonly found in Engineered Garments collections and the focus on fabrics and texture when constructing these pieces.

On Tuesday, September 10th we will be releasing the Vault by Vans for Engineered Garments capsule collection. The shoes will be available in the OG Authentic LX in Sunforger Canvas and Olive Reversed Sateen and the OG Classic Slip-On LX in Mismatch Black Leather, Navy Leather, and Tan Leather.

“Dropping alongside the Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Half Cab LX “Batik” pack is the Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Court Hi LX “Paradise” pack. The TH Court Hi LX is designer Taka Hayashi’s reinterpretation of the classic Sk8-Hi silhouette with a nod to vintage athletic sneaker aesthetics. Crafted from premium suede and canvas, the shoe features a padding-free ankle and subtle tonal stitching in place of the sidestripe and collar from the Sk8-Hi. The TH Paradise print is Hayashi’s interpretation of the Van Doren Hawaiian print and appears on the sidewalls and tongue. This season the  TH Court Hi LX “Paradise” will be offered in classic blue and syrah colorways and will reach stockists starting this September.”

Taka’s back!  We’ve just previewed some of the upcoming Vault releases, but now we get an official detailed look at Taka Hayashi’s Half Cab coming out this Fall.  Given the name TH Half Cab LX, you know it’s going to have some Taka customizations.  Right away, you notice the Batik-inspired print on the canvas portions of the shoe.  After that, your eyes probably migrate down to the lower portion of the shoe, where you’ll find some fossil artwork wrapping the entire vulcanized sole.  If you take a closer look at the rest of the shoe, you’ll find some detailed stitching, perforated patterns, and embroidering.  They’re finished off nicely with Taka’s version of the Half Cab logo, which we’ve seen on his prior models.  They will be available in two colorways, Black, or Classic Blue, this September.

“For Fall 2013 Diemme follows up on their successful Vans Vault program with several new colors, as we saw at Agenda Las Vegas. The Sk8-Hi sees a new deep red version, while the Slip-On is treated to rich brown leathers. Two hiking boots are also on offer. As before, this collection is entirely made in Italy at Diemme’s factories which makes for a very pricey, but gorgeous set of shoes.
