Vans Vault x Proper – Nautical Pack Native American & Authentic LX Re-Release (Available Now!)

Proper+x+Vans+Vault+Native+American+and+Authentic+Low+LX+re-release

Long Beach’s premier sneaker boutique, Proper, recently discovered some back stock of their Vans Vault collab from 2008, centered around a unique nautical theme, but releasing in the Winter, with the understanding that most sneakerheads buy their kicks and let them sit on ice for awhile before breaking them out.  At the time, this pack was trend-setting.  They pretty much created the Chukka Del Barco, which became very successful for a few years, making it’s way through the Vault, Cali, and GR lines.  The Native American was also a pretty much unheard-of model, except for those in the Vintage Vans world.  The one-piece Authentic was also a first of it’s kind, which just goes to show the level of detail and creativity that Proper had.  Keep in mind, their prior collab were the satin Sk8-Hi pack, which was also untouched at the time.  While this re-release doesn’t include every model from the set, both one-piece Authentic LX’s, and the blue Native American LX are available in a variety of sizes from Mens 4-13.  Don’t sleep!  Head on over to Proper’s webstore to see what’s left.

Vault x Taka Hayashi – TH Buffalo Trail LX (Spring/Summer 2016)

Vans+Vault+by+Taka+Hayashi+Introduce+the+TH+Buffalo+Trail+LX

Designer Taka Hayashi pays homage to Vans’ design history by reimagining the retro runner, the Serio, under premium label, Vault by Vans. Inspired by the original silhouette introduced in the early ‘80s, Taka Hayashi’s unique vision blends the vintage Vans runner with a buffalo boot form to create the TH Buffalo Boot LX.

The latest Vault by Vans model has the constructed outsole of a work boot translated through a stacked leather wedge, EVA Midsole and a Vibram® ripple sole bottom plate. The result provides a premium, athletic-inspired style that’s reminiscent of Vans’ decades long design history.  Available in black, brown and taupe, the TH Buffalo Trail LX features upgraded materials like leather, nubuck and suede both outside and inside the shoe. The Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi Buffalo Trail LX will be available this May at select stockists.

Vans Vault x Blends – Sk8-Hi Reissue Zip LX “Peacoat” (UTP Review) @blends #blends #blendsvans

Blends6

Daaaamn Blends!  Back at it again with the Bones Vans!  This is the 5th release of the wildly popular “Bones Jazz Stripe” Vans to come out of the Blends camp, and this time we’ve got another banger.  Always known for keeping things clean, simple, timeless, wearable, and trendless, this time Blends chose a Peacoat navy colorway, with a black jazz stripe and laces.  The shoes have such a dark dye, that they appear to be almost black except for the natural suede on the edges of the premium leather panels, and on the back side of the inner zipper flap, where you can see a much more pronounced blue color.  That slight contrast makes for a really cool design, and I could see this sort of treatment being a new trend in higher quality releases.  The construction and make-up is still the same as all the other Blends Bones releases.  Thin non-removable footbeds with minimal branding, and muted leather tongues, with no tags or branding.  A white foxing, with black foxing stripe, and waffle sole complete the look.  I hope some of you were fortunate enough to pick up a pair, as these are pretty much still the only Vans shoe that commands an over-night camp out.  As you read this, I’m probably in line with the homies, waiting for Blends to open up.  You might think I’m crazy for doing this stuff still, but this is one of the reasons why I do the Vans thing.  The passion and the old school vibe sneaker culture is still there, and that still makes it fun for me.  Thanks to the Blends family for always making it easy for me to get my hands on these.  I’m forever grateful!  -Guamstyles

Vans Vault – Lite LX Collection (via @blends_official)

2_5626d37b-1faa-46b0-86ad-c3aab47517b4

Blends gives us a preview of the latest and greatest offerings from Vans Vault, featuring the inaugural debut of the Lite LX model.  Typically Vans shoes start off in the Vault line, and work their way down to the mainstream channels of Vans products, but this time it started out a little bit backwards.  What started off as an LXVI feature, which then made it’s way to every Vans store, the Lite line has been wildly successful, obviously due to their level of comfort compared to our typical beloved Vans.  The key feature is the CMEVA (Compression Molded Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) outsoles also known as Ultracush Lite technology.  With their smart “PICK ME UP” orange tags adorned on every pair, they sparked people’s curiosity, and once Vans started creating them in the classic colorways that we’re all familiar with, that’s when people really started to give them a chance.  We now get to see a premium versions of these shoes, by way of the Vault Lite series.  For the first round, we see 3 Authentic Lite LX’s, 2 Old Skool Lite LX’s, and 2 Sk8-Hi Lite LX’s, wrapped entirely in premium leather with leather insoles.  These will be available this weekend at all Blends accounts that carry the Vault by Vans line, as well as online.
