Although these have already popped up at DSM NY in-store, this latest Authentic LX from Vault and CDG are slated to release on 11/1 at a few other retailers including CDG’s own website. Not much to say about these, other than there’s a repeat all-over print of a CDG logo in black, on top of a white canvas. The resellers love CDG so don’t sleep if you want these!

This time, the Vault shoe sports a trio of plush, glossy velvet uppers, accented by gold bit detailing at the forefoot to recall luxe loafers. The green, purple, and black iterations all sport black midsoles and matching sock liners, with co-branding appearing at the heel of each insole.”
Take a closer look at each sneaker below and expect the Vans Slip-On “Velvet/Bitted” to hit NEPENTHES’s Japanese outposts on October 13, presumably arriving at NEPENTHES New York shortly after.

Check out Taka Hayashi’s latest creation for Vault. A TH Chukka 66 LX & TH Slip-On 66 LX in a two-tone olive green canvas mockup, featuring some brown hits as well as a dark brown gum sole. Taka incorporated a strip of contrasting lighter colored material down the toe of each shoe, which accentuates the long toe that the Slip and the Chukka are known for. The interiors of each pair are bright orange, and each back heel features a leather panel. The vulcanized sidewall has Taka’s vintage Director logo near the back, and the bottom of each waffle sole features the same half rising sun pattern that we’ve seen on a few other pairs.
Proper has both of these up on their site, with the TH Slip-On 66 LX going for $100 and the TH Chukka 66 LX going for $110.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a nice and simple Chukka, and we think it’s due for a comeback. Of course, leave it up to Proper to help guide our fashion senses in the right direction, by bringing back an OG Triple OG with their latest offering of this set of OG Chukka LX’s. You may first mistake these for being part of the Vault mainline, but make no mistake that these were made specifically for Proper. Branding was kept extremely minimal, by way of a footbed logo, as well as a logo embroidered on the back side of the side flag. That’s it. The colorways chosen, look right out of your favorite OG lineup. Simple. Subtle. Timeless. Hopefully Vans won’t make similar colorways down the line, so not to take away from the originality that Proper is always known for. This day and age, we seem to be over-saturated with collaborations or just the idea of collaborations, but sometimes a collaborative product doesn’t need any special materials, branding, or story to be cool. Sometimes just the idea of re-introducing something kind of forgotten is enough, and that’s sort of the vibe I get with this pack. MAKE CHUKKAS GREAT AGAIN!

As part of the BNY Sole Series, Barney’s has created a truly iconic pack right here, featuring one of our most beloved Vans graphics of all time, the Vanosaur. They’ve stepped it up a notch by creating the all-over graphic in a never before seen, embroidered rendition. The graphic is featured in both iconic colorways, the lime green with pink version, as well as the blue with orange version, which each shoe will receive both colors on either one side of the shoe, or on a contrasting front to back design. The pack consists of a black OG Sk8-Hi LX, OG Old Skool LX, and OG Authentic LX, as well as a white OG Old Skool LX and OG Authentic LX. Great job, Barneys!

Just wanted to show a little love to our friends in Columbus, OH, over at Sole Classics. One of the real advocates for the Vault by Vans line, SC has one of the most dedicated following, and I believe it’s truly in part to being community oriented, trend-setting, and very genuine, and humble. They’ve figured out that there’s more to a shop than just selling shoes. Sell yourselves, your stories, and your people, and people will help support that all day long.
With those few words, I thought I’d share a few new Vault releases that are starting to show up at your local Vault dealer. The latest Vault OG offerings come by way of a Forest Night pack in an OG Old Skool LX & OG Classic Slip-On LX, a Sun Dried Tomato pack in an OG Sk8-Hi LX, and OG Classic Slip-On LX, and a Camo pattern, similar to the ones we used to see back in the 90’s USA made pairs, that are also available in an OG Sk8-Hi LX, and OG Classic Slip-On LX, both sitting atop a black sole. The OGs are still a crowd favorite amongst a lot of us, because they’re subtle, clean, and don’t really make a statement at all, but to those who know their premium Vans, know that these are the ones. So yeah, by all means, support your local spot, but I wanted to share the photos that either @mrkingjd, or @sundaypizza took for the shop, because I love their pics!
