Vault by Vans x “Fergadelic” Fergus Purcell (Part 2) – Acid Wash Collection (5.23.20)

thumbnail_SP20_Vault_Fergus_Fergadelic-AcidWash-Play

The second set of classic Vans styles to get the Fergadelic overhaul include an OG Authentic and OG Chukka, each in a retro, acid wash colorway. “The acid wash design is based on a memory from my youth, of coveting a pair of acid wash Vans when they came out around the late ‘80s,” Fergus said. “I’ve collided this memory with— for no reason at all, let’s call it surreal—contemporary scratch card imagery, perhaps creating shoes that are lucky and will bring a big win.”

The Acid Wash Collection releases on 5/23/20 at select Vault retailers.

Additionally, Fergus designed two prints that can be used to create your own Vans Customs Classics,  available exclusively on the Customizer beginning May 29, 2020.

Vault By Vans x Taka Hayashi – Collection (Summer 2020)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_05_taka-hayashi-vault-by-vans-style-47-98-sk8-lo-release-info-2

Info via Hypebeast:

“Continuing a longstanding partnership, artist Taka Hayashi and Vault By Vans have returned with a new Summer 2020 collection of modernized takes on archival skate styles. Consisting of six total shoes — two makeups each of the Sk8-Lo, Style 47 and Style 98 — the collection draws from vintage military apparel and uses a modernized, QR code-inspired iteration of Vans‘ timeless checkerboard print.

A silhouette that looks like an Old Skool with a Sk8-Hi toebox, the Sk8-Lo is the centerpiece of the collection. Appearing in “Black” and “Total Eclipse,” each makeup uses two-tone QR checkerboard print on quarter panels and heels, alternate-colored Jazz Stripes on lateral and medial sides, high-gloss midsoles with a faint print and special circular badges on the tongue tag.

Meanwhile, the Style 47 offers a look similar to the Slip-On with its laceless build. It’s done up in “Dusty Olive” and “White Sand,” each of which uses a full canvas upper. Both add colorful stripes to the heel — yellow for “Dusty Olive,” orange for “White Sand — and patch three eyelets onto the medial midfoot. The toebox’s lined, slightly puffy detailing draws from vintage military jackets, and printed midsoles complete the look.

Last but not least, the Style 98 keeps things simple in “Black” and “Marshmallow.” Each presents a 5/8 cut collar, and uses a rich leather upper with suede overlays on the toebox and heel. Black and blue tags and tabs add a little colorful flair. All six styles are completed with abstract outsole patterns inspired by a lunar eclipse.

The Taka Hayashi x Vault By Vans Summer 2020 collection is coming to your local Vault dealer soon.”

Vault By Vans x Off The Hook – “107” Authentic LX (Coming Soon!)

Daaaaamn Off The Hook!  Back at it again with the white Vans!  But naw, these ain’t Daniel’s pair of GR true whites.  These are something much more towards our liking.  Sometimes it’s the details and the story that only a select few will notice, and that’s the way we like it.  For this release, OTH’s own Paul Labonte drew inspiration from the local 107 bus route, which he rode into downtown Montreal, as a kid, where he discovered all the things he loved growing up, like record stores, and graffiti, which shaped his life.  The original OTH store is also on that route.  He wanted to create a bulletproof Authentic, so he went with a 20 oz. duck canvas, with a siped outsole.  We love that outsole.  From the looks of the pic, there is some custom embroidery on the tongue, and there is a custom printed heelpad.  The shoe is limited to 107 pairs, keeping in the overall theme.  These are super clean, and we love them!  No release info has been set yet.

Vault By Vans x Sneakersnstuff – “Venice Beach” Pack (4.4.20)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_03_sneakersnstuff-vans-vault-venice-beach-pack-release-info-01

Words via Sneakersnstuff:

“To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Sneakersnstuff Los Angeles in Venice Beach, we have collaborated with Vault by Vans on two Southern Californian staples, the OG Classic Slip-On LX and the OG Era LX, as an homage to Venice Beach and the culture and history that encompasses it.

This history of Venice Beach is a notorious one, a place where creatives and artists flourished in the 1960s and ’70s, immortalized in the history books of skateboarding forever throughout the ‘80s and coincided with a punk explosion that enveloped the beach and boardwalk into the ’90s. The design of the SNS x Vault by Vans “Venice Beach Pack” is a nod to that time – the late 80’s and 90’s and what skaters, surfers, and punks were wearing.

Both the OG Classic Slip-On LX and the OG Era LX feature a canvas upper with the iconic checkerboard print in bright neon colorways and unique SNS graphics along the sidewall as Vans has done so iconically over the years. In addition to the OG Vault by Vans Off the Wall logo hit on the heel, design details revere to orginal Vans models such as a slim fitted shape utilizing the original period correct upper patterns. Further, we see the iconic outsole undercut with hand-tooled details and tightly wrapped rubberized textile foxing only seen on vintage Vans, long-lasting thick outsole, original Vans sticky rubber, and sidewall sealing wipe. The OG build is as always, original design, original quality, and crafted the original way.”

The Sneakersnstuff x Vault by Vans “Venice Beach Pack” will be available online via draw on the SNS App on April 4th.

Vault By Vans x Blends – OG Epoch LX “Bones” (2.29.20 & UTP Review!)

IMG_9836

When we first caught a sneak peek at the next set of Blends Vans to come our way, we were all stoked to see them use a new shoe for their iconic Bones catalog, with the Epoch or Style 73 as it was originally called.  This silo has a very unique flying V logo that is exclusive to this shoe, and we’re sure Blends didn’t want to take away from that.  Adding their unmistakable signature Bones styling to that flying V was the right move.  Some might say “more bones???”, but we say “MORE BONES!!!”.  We absolutely love these, and will be looking to double up if possible.

The shoe features hairy suede throughout, except for the marshmallow premium leather accents by way of the bones and the heel mustache.  These feature marshmallow colored vulc soles, in the new Vault Originals shape, complete with glossy foxing tape, shrunken waffle grip, and that sexy, curvy sidewall!  There’s minimal Blends branding on the heelpad, and the shoe comes with two pairs of laces, one being waxed marshmallow, and the other black standard.  The Blends all-black drawer box and dustbag are also back for this release.  We’ve taken a grip of photos, including a few in the alternate lace option.  I could seriously go with either and be completely satisfied.

We’ve all been waiting for Blends to give us a release date, and I can confidently say these will be releasing in two weeks, on Saturday Feb. 29th, at all chapter stores as well as online.  You’ve heard it here first!

Vault By Vans x Jim Goldberg – Raised By Wolves Collection (Feb. 2020)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_02_jim-goldberg-vans-collaboration-old-skool-slip-on-sk8-hi-lx-tv-static-acid-wash-leather-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Vans has tapped the American artist and photographer Jim Goldberg for a three-piece capsule collection comprised of a Slip-On OG LX, an Old Skool LX and a Sk8-Hi LX.

The collaboration brings a unique twist to each silhouette, with the Slip-On sporting an all-over “TV Static” canvas design, the Old Skool coming in an acid-washed denim effect and the Sk8-Hi appearing in all-leather, which has been inscribed with words and names all over.

Goldberg’s standout pair is the Slip-On, as its “TV Static” canvas is contrasted with a crisp white vulcanized sole unit that’s adorned with the artist’s signature aesthetic — hand-written text this time around stating “Put quarters in the jukebox and bitch about the music,” as well as “I want to piss on the moon.” All three pairs are finished with red co-branded insoles that reference Goldberg’s non-fiction multimedia work, Raised by Wolves.”

These have started to arrive at a few Europe Vault dealers, with prices ranging from €80 EUR to €110 EUR (approx. $88 — $121 USD).

LBIFBACK Review: Vans Vault OG Classic Slip-On LX Suede/Shearling (Bison/Chipmunk)

Once again, another awesome review by the official LBIFBACK.  First of all, I wanted to congratulate him and his wife Heather, on their new little one, and I hope all’s well bro!  This time he brings us the Suede/Shearling OG Classic Slip-On LX from Vans Vault, in the Bison/Chipmunk cw.  Our homie Daniel brings the best reviews in my opinion.  Very informative, precise, and he knows what he’s talking about.  An Under The Palms OG, who we all can vouch for.  100% certified Wafflehead!
