Vans Syndicate 020.125 – Derby “S” (Available now @silostore)

Look what just arrived at Silo, and assuming at your local Vans Syndicate dealer as well!  The latest release, 020.125, is reserved for the Derby “S” seen here.  This model may look familiar, because it’s the same shoe that Taka Hayashi designed for Vans Vault, but don’t be so quick to judge!  This one’s got it’s own unique personality and style.  Geared more towards the skater, it features a vulcanized mid-sole, removable gel-padded sockliner, and Dri-Lex material to wick away moisture, and keep your foot comfortable.  The Derby “S” is constructed in canvas and suede, keeping it classy, but the DURACAP®-reinforced upper is what keeps it on your feet longer.  Available in 3 colorways: Pewter/Ruby/White, Navy/Warm Grey, and Black/Lake Blue.  The style is sleek, simple, and completely an every-day shoe.  This is an interesting new direction for Syndicate, but after seeing some decent pics, I think these are going to be a new favorite for some.  Head on over to Silo Store’s webshop, where you can purchase these right now.  Support OTWS friend and supporter Brant, as he does a lot for us, and is always willing to help find some Syndicates for us!  For $65, I’d say these are worth a shot!

Vans Syndicate – Half Cab Lite “S” (Samples!)

Check out this rad upcoming Syndicate release, by way of a Half Cab Lite!  We’ve already seen a photo from Steve Caballero, of the upcoming Half Cab Lite, but we didn’t know there was an “S” version on it’s way as well!  This one seems to take on that popular Air Max 95 colorway, with the two-tone grey, and neon yellow mock up.  From the looks of the photos, it looks like the materials chosen are a ballistic mesh, and some premium quality suede, perhaps pig suede.  They sit on top of the newer styled soles that we’ve been having to get used to, but I’m sure they’ll be just fine.  Who’s ready for some lighter, slimmer, better Half Cabs?  I am!

Offthewall.TV – Vans Syndicate – “TWENTY” Exhibition (Video)

Words via FreshNGood:

“Twenty years, twenty skaters, twenty photos and one shoe, that was the premise for the opening reception of Vans Syndicate “Twenty” at New Image Art gallery in Hollywood, CA. From Steve Caballero to Stevie Williams, “Twenty”, a selection of images curated by Lance Dawes, celebrates the legacy of the iconic Half Cab. Custom waffle grip imprinted frames were made to highlight the master lensmen’s work and to symbolize the sole of skateboarding. Pabst Blue Ribbon provided the brew and Hollywood supplied the back drop for lucky attendees to bump elbows with skate idols like Christian Hosoi, Chad Muska, Jason Dill and Eric Dressen. Photographers like Mike O’Meally, Ben Colen and Atiba Jefferson came out from behind the lens to enjoy their well deserved moment in the spotlight and to remind us with their images just how influential the Half Cab has been to the past, present and future of skateboarding.”

Vans Syndicate – Sk8-Hi Pro “S” – “Off The Wall” Pack (Samples)

The samples just keep showing up!  This time we’ve got a Sk8-Hi to show you, and I’m personally excited about these ones.  Not to cause any hype or anything, because honestly these are coming in a classic colorway, which tend to not be big with the sneakerheads, but for us Vans purists, it may be a must have for our collection.  The Navy/Blue color combo is one of the OG colors for the Sk8-Hi and has stood the test of time.  The Vans classics have black with white, and navy with light blue, so I am expecting these to also be available in that said black and white color combo as well.  Of course, if you are looking for something more upscale, then Vault has the heel zipper version dropping right about now for a mere $120 in the same colorway.  Have at it!  I’ll take these, with the dri-lex liner, which I hear is going to be a standard issue on most Syndicates from here on out, and the newer vulc soles that have been seen on a few newer Vans releases, such as the W)Taps Sk8-Mid, and the Supreme Zero series.  I think it has superior wearability, but on the other hand it may be a little more stiff.  Break ’em in!  Sorry I rambled on so much, and didn’t spend so much time on discussing the shoe, but that’s because I don’t have any real info on these just yet.  Stay tuned, and for now enjoy the pics we’ve found via this eBay auction, in which these are currently up for sale in a sample sz9.

Vans Syndicate – Derby “S” (Samples)

Check out these two sample pairs of Derby “S” ‘s from the Vans Syndicate line, due out later this year.  These popped up on eBay recently, and it appears that Vans has taken the Derby model, designed and made popular by Taka Hayashi for Vans Vault, and have put their skating touch on the shoe.  They’ve added a vulcanized sole, and Dri-Lex material to the lining, to aid in moisture absorption, as well as keeping your foot cool when it’s hot, and warm when it’s cold.  Space-age shit.  You wouldn’t understand.  Available in a suede/canvas combo, in either Black/Lake Blue, or Navy/Warm Grey.  These make for a great skate shoe, but as far as design goes, I believe the Derby belongs on a crepe sole.  What are your feelings on that?  These are now available on eBay in a sz9, in both colorways here.

Vans Syndicate x Tony Alva – Mid Skool “S” (First pics! Samples?)

Here’s a first look at what seems to be the next release from Vans Syndicate.  Apparently, they’ve teamed up with the legendary Tony Alva, on this interesting Mid Skool 77.  This is more or less his go-to shoe, evident in almost all of his past Pro model collaborations with Vans, and why mess with success, right?  Sticking to that late 70s theme, the colors chosen are a mixture of navy blue and mustard yellow, with white contrast stitching.  The material of the shoe is all suede, with custom Alva embroidery at the heel, like on all of his other Mid Skools.  This particular pair is obviously a sample, due to being a sz9, and being up on eBay before any other info has been officially released.  With that being said, we have no release date, and we don’t know if this is part of a capsule collection, so just enjoy this for now, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted if anything else comes up.

Purchase this pair here.

Vans Syndicate – AVE/Dill Pack (Review by @DJGuamstyles)

This has been a fun week trying to hunt down pairs of the latest Syndicate release for fellow OTWS members.  The 3-shoe pack, designed by pro skaters Anthony Van Engelen, and Jason Dill, consists of a shoe designed by each of them, as well as a third shoe, representing a combination of both of their creations.

AVE designed the Old Skool 92 Pro “S”, utilizing a classy dress shoe leather, and a cheetah faux fur fabric.  Don’t be fooled into thinking the leather is cheap, like most of you have thought.  My detailed pics will show the quality of the leather, as we’d all expect from Syndicate.  The inner lining consists of soft supple leather, and a detail not previously noticed is the collar and tongue binding wrapped in suede!  Thin waxed laces finish these off nicely, along with a metal top lace eyelet.

Dill’s creation is the Authentic Pro “S” wrapped in a silver textured snakeskin print throughout the entire shoe.  Metal lace eyelets finish them off nicely.  The footbed has Dill on it, as well as the scorpion20/21 logo that this set revolves around.  More on that later.

The final shoe features a mixture of both styles.  The AV Sk8-Low “S” was chosen to rep both of these awesome dudes.  Wrapped entirely in a premium dress shoe leather, with the popular cheetah faux fur material on the inner lining.  The backside of the tongue has the silver snakeskin material that was featured on the Authentic, but sadly the snakeskin material on the removable sock liner, didn’t make it to the production version, instead it features both AVE and Dill on it, as well as their scorpion 20/21 logo, which represents them both being scorpio’s, having been born on November 20th, and 21st respectively.  By the way, this series utilizes the gel padded sock liners, in case you were wondering!  Also one last feature I failed to mention, featured on all 3 models, is the clear waffle soles on the bottom.  Yellowing is inevitable, and has already started to take place!  Live with it!

Hope you enjoyed this nice little feature.  We have some exciting new tees coming soon, so please support us, and buy one when they come out.  If you like what we do for you here, like dropping info on the Vans iPhone Case restocking, and the general heads up on the Twitter feeds, then show some support damnit!  Hehe, peace everyone -Guamstyles
