Supreme x Comme des Garçons SHIRT – Sk8-Hi & Era (Spring/Summer 2014)

comme-des-garcons-shirt-x-supreme-x-vans-2014-spring-summer-collection-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Comme des Garçons SHIRT and Supreme recently teamed to produce a special 2014 Spring/Summer Collection with Vans chiming in with a set of footwear offerings as well.

Using the same fabric Comme des Garçons used for the apparel items, Vans re-interpreted both the Sk8-Hi and the Era, incorporating the signature visual themes of the collection. The Era, appearing in both black and red, combines both white polka dot and stripes for the upper and features the Supreme tag stamped on the heel and Comme des Garçons SHIRT printed on the white rubber outsole. The Sk8-Hi features a similar upper while also paying a graphical tribute to late NYC skate legend Harold Hunter.”

THESE WILL BE RELEASED SOME TIME IN JUNE

Vans x Supreme x Bruce Lee – Authentic & Sk8-Hi (Drops 10/24/13)

5cwnXKZ2MXE

Bruce Lee, born 1940, was a Hong Kong American martial artist, Hong Kong action film actor, martial arts instructor, filmmaker and the founder of Jeet Kune Do. Lee was born in Chinatown, San Francisco on November 27th 1940 to parents from Hong Kong and was raised in Kowloon with his family until his late teens.

Lee moved to the United States at the age of 18 to receive his higher education, and it was during this time that he began teaching martial arts. He initially trained in Wing Chun, but later rejected well-defined martial art styles, favoring instead the use of techniques from various sources, in the spirit of his personal martial arts philosophy, which he dubbed Jeet Kune Do (The Way of the Intercepting Fist).

His Hong Kong and Hollywood-produced films elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim, sparking a surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West in the 1970s. He is noted for his roles in five feature-length films: Lo Wei’s The Big Boss (1971) and Fist of Fury (1972); Way of the Dragon (1972), directed and written by Lee; Warner Brothers’ Enter the Dragon (1973) and The Game of Death (1973), both directed by Robert Clouse. Lee became an iconic figure known throughout the world, particularly among the Chinese, as he portrayed Chinese nationalism in his films. He died in Kowloon Tong on July 20th 1973 at the age of 32. He is widely considered by commentators, critics, media and other martial artists to be one of the most influential martial artists of all time, and a pop culture icon of the 20th century. He is often credited with helping to change the way Asians were presented in American films.

This Fall, Supreme has come together with the Bruce Lee Estate to release a capsule collection. The project will feature a Coaches Jacket, Button-Down Shirt and three original graphic Tees made exclusively for Supreme. There will be featured a Vans Authentic and Sk8-Hi that will come in three colorways.

bruce-lee-supreme-vans-upcoming-collaboration-02

This isn’t the first time we’ve caught wind of the Supreme x Bruce Lee pack, but this is the first time we’ve seen the Authentics.  Each pair features a photographic print of Bruce Lee, in one of 3 different tints, black/white, black/blue, and black/yellow.  Available in a Sk8-Hi or Authentic, these should be releasing soon, as the Bruce Lee deck has been spotted in the recent Supreme Fall/Winter preview.  Stay tuned!

Vans Syndicate x Fucking Awesome x Supreme – Authentic “S” (A Closer Look!)

9318122832_14269c2f0f_c

This release is turning out to be a fucking pain in my neck.  With no online release from Supreme, and from what it looks like, Fucking Awesome webstore as well, a lot of us are left high and dry on this one!  We’ve been teased and tormented since the very first pics we saw of the white pair, which also didn’t get released in this pack!  There’s a whole lot of WTF going on with this one, and perhaps it was all by design.  Sort of the Supreme and FA way!  Well, a few of our OTWS members had some free time this Thursday morning, to head down to Supreme LA and wait in line with the rest of them, and I thought I’d share a few detailed photos of the “awesome” Neon Green Authentic “S”, thanks to RuDe-oNe on our OTWS forum, as well as Akamedaniel and tmrsn.  Oh, and not to be a back patter, but we pay attention to the details over here, and we were the only ones to announce that this was a Syndicate release, all based on one photo of the red/gold pair, that had a Syndicate tag on the upper.  I guess nobody else cared or noticed!  Just sayin’.  I hope y’all know who keeps it real with Vans, haha!

Supreme x Vans Syndicate x Fucking Awesome – Authentic

fucking-awesome-x-vans-2013-authentic-collection-1

Although not an official news release from Supreme, Hypebeast has dropped a little bit of info about the highly anticipated Fucking Awesome Authentic that we’ve been teased with for over a year now.  More recently, we discovered that these will be a Vans Syndicate release, as well as a Supreme exclusive.  What we’re also noticing is that the white pair won’t be releasing, just the black/white, red/gold, and neon yellow/black.  Not sure why Hypebeast had the exclusive drop on this release, so until official word comes from Supreme, I guess we won’t hold our breath!

Here’s what Hypebeast posted up:

“Jason Dill’s Fucking Awesome brand has been the subject of much speculation over the past couple of weeks, triggered by the legendary skateboarder’s sudden departure from longtime board sponsor Alien Workshop. New relationships are nothing new for Jason Dill though, who only late last year was officially announced to Vans’ roster of skateboarders. Here we find Fucking Awesome teaming up with Vans for a collection of collaborative footwear, taking the shoemaker’s coveted Authentic silhouette and outfitting it with an all-over signature print. This collaboration finds the Authentic offered in three colorways – black, red, and neon green – each paired with matching laces and a clean, white vulcanized outsole. The shoe is set to retail for $70 USD, exclusively at Supreme locations worldwide on July 18.”
