Carrolls galore, thanks to jacobmontana!

Just wanted to share this dope pic.  OTWS member jacobmontana is the #1 Mike Carroll fan, hands down!

Vans Collector Box (Erwin’s new pickups!)

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen one of these.  Vans created this special collector box, with miniature Vans classics models back in 2007, and I assume they were an appreciation gift promo, because they were limited to 500, each individually numbered.  One of our OTWS members, Erwin, came up on one, and sent me some pics to share with all the readers.  Not much info out there on these, or even from blog entries when they originally came out.  Enjoy the pics, and sell me yours, if you have one you are willing to part with!

Vans Vault – Sk8-Hi LX Premio Leather (a closer look!)

Thanks to FootPatrol, we can show you some better pics of the Vault Sk8-Hi LX Premio Leather Burgundy/Navy colorway.  You can really see the detail and the quality of the leather, and it should help shake some of you off the fence on these!

Vans Syndicate x Jason Jessee – Old Skool (New Pickups!)

Can you say WTF?  How is it that I was able to snag a pair of the most holiest of grails in the Syndicate realm?!  I’m still in shock that I came across these from a long time Vans Syndicate dealer, but you better believe it!  Only one minor blemish, from being exposed to the elements for a few years, through the hole in the Syndicate box.  The rest of the shoe is as if it were brand new, (unlike my 003 sz12 Jason Jessee Sk8-Hi’s from FCLA that had one yellow sole, and one brand new white sole).  A little bit of Sea Glow should fix that spot right up!  Do some digging, and see what you can come up with at your local Syndicate dealer!  You never know.

Vans x Solebox – Old Skool (recent pickups!)

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted up some of my recent pickups, but I figured my latest one was worth sharing with you all.  The Old Skool you are looking at here, was designed by Hikmet from Solebox, the premier sneaker boutique in Berlin, Germany.  You’re looking at one of only 60 pairs produced, and I was fortunate to get them from Erwin, one of our OTWS members who picks up about as much stuff as Samcolt12 it seems!  He’s from the Netherlands, so he has more opportunities to come across rare gems like these, than us stateside Vans enthusiasts.  Join our forums, and you too will meet awesome people like him, who may one day help you find that rare piece you’ve been dying to add to your collection!  Thanks for letting me check off one of my holy grails, Erwin!

Vans Syndicate x Civilist – Chukka Low (recent pickups!)

One of our very own OTWS members, Erwin, from the Netherlands, was able to cop one of the 100 pairs of the Chukka Lows from Civilist, and he was happy to share with us, some up close pics of the entire package that came along with the kicks.  It’s great to see some of our very own members picking up some rare heat!  Not much else to say, but enjoy the pics!

Vault x Ludwig Van “Mary Jane – sz12” (Wolfstrice09’s new pickup!)

So the other day, Thane (Wolfstrice09) hit me up, asking me if he could have something delivered to me, to send to him, due to shipping prices by the seller of a particular item.  I had no idea what it was yet.  Naturally, I was suspicious, and raised a few concerns, and eventually he gave in, and let me know what he had coming.  He got the ONLY pair of size 12, Mary Jane Era’s from the Ludwig Van collection!!!  May I remind you, there are only 5 pairs of this shoe in existence, and only one of each size, so this is a definite one of a kind, collector’s piece.  Thane had spoke with Mike Dytri, from Ludwig Van, about purchasing these, and supposedly made him an offer, and they agreed on a deal.  Smash cut to today, and Mike was knocking on my door, personally delivering these gems!  I feel like such an ass for not introducing myself at the Conveyor party, so he could be like “oh, it’s you!”  but I’m not one of those guys, to just walk up to people I don’t know, especially when all their friends are there celebrating the release with him!  I can’t believe nobody bought these from the Ludwig Van webstore, either!  The $420 price tag was a decent deal, for arguably, the best pattern in the entire series!  I’m just glad I got to physically touch a pair of them, let alone my size, as well!  Don’t worry Wolfs, I didn’t try them on!  Anyways, nobody else from OTWS deserves these more than Thane, because he has every pattern offered in a sz12 of the Ludwig Van project, and this is just the icing on the cake.  Congrats homie!

Had enough Supreme x Mike Carroll pics yet?

No?  Well then you’ve come to the right place!  Just got in my Supreme shipment today, and thought I’d have a little photoshoot.  Man, I think it’s time to step up my camera game.  This little ol’ Canon G6 just ain’t cuttin’ it anymore.  Time to give in and get a D-SLR.  Stick with Canon, or go with Nikon?

Recent Vintage Pickups: Vans Serio!

The Serio is one of those rare pairs from Vans, that came out during a time when Vans explored many different avenues of styles, unlike today’s primary focus on action sports, and of course, their classics.  The Serio, was a running shoe, that came out in the 80s, in various makeups, with different colors, primarily made with a combo of suede and nylon panels.  A few different soles have been seen on various pairs floating around online, and in my possession, some geared towards trail running, and others geared for running, or walking.  This pair is by far, the nicest one I’ve seen ever, and I thought I’d share it with you all!

Vans Vault x Taka Hayashi – Santa Rosa Nomad LX (pickups!)

The Vans info has been slim lately, so it’s time again for another recent pickup showcase.  This entry is a forgotten, and perhaps an “outside US” release, that came out last April, along with Taka’s Priz Hi Lace LX, and Prison Issue Lace LX.  I thought these were a UK exclusive, but one of our Canadian followers said they were available at his local spot, but the word is still out, on a US release.  Did you see these alongside the other two Taka Hayashi models, when they released?  I didn’t.  These are constructed of a laser-etched tanned leather, with the Native American patterned beads on the straps.  Another notable feature is the green crepe sole.  What do you think?
