Vans Skate x Justin Henry – “World Peace” Style 36 Pro (Available Now!)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_07_justin-henry-vans-style-36-world-peace-short-film-release-date-info-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“After premiering a “World Peace” short film in June, pro skater Justin Henry and Vans are continuing their wholesome collaborative efforts with a brand-new Style 36. Dubbed the “World Peace,” the co-created silhouette is understated and elegant — but not without a dose of powerful flair.

Built fully of white pebbled leather, uppers present an undeniably crisp tonal look. Signature embellishment arrives on the white laces, which offer a repeating “WORLD PEACE” print, done up in bold and blocky black letters. Rugged overlays spread across the toe cap, providing durability for all-day skate sessions. Tonal Vans tags sit under the white Jazz stripe, with a signature red rubberized badge gracing the white rubber midsole. To finalize the look, outsoles enlarge and split the “WORLD PEACE” print from the laces, with one word appearing on each shoe.

The shoes are also accompanied by a special tote bag with a jacquard cherub print, inspired by a vintage sewing bag gifted to Henry by his aunt. To further the collection’s ethos of giving back and world peace, Vans has also donated $10,000 USD to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio — Henry’s home state.

Look for the Justin Henry x Vans Style 36 and accompanying tote bag at Vans Skate stockists globally, and see the “World Peace” short film below.”

Vans Skate x Sci-Fi Fantasy – 90’s Tech Inspired Pack (Summer 2020)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_06_sci-fi-fantasy-vans-sk8-hi-old-skool-tri-lock-sandal-release-date-info-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Acclaimed skater and photographer Jerry Hsu‘s Sci-Fi Fantasy has teamed up with Vans for a footwear collection inspired by ’90s tech. Made up of fresh takes on the Sk8-Hi, Old Skool and Tri-Lock Sandal, the offerings are inspired by ’90s digital tech ephemera and feature vivid colorblocking.

Sk8-His are split between rich, dark navy blue textiles on the quarter panel and collar and black suede on the toebox/eyestays. White contrast-stitched seams hold the shoe together, “Sci-Fi” and “Fantasy” are embroidered on the left and right heels in white, and a rectangular X patch is present on the lateral collar. Leather Jazz stripes and black/grey midsoles round off the look.

Old Skools ramp up the vibrance, using a kelly green on the quarter and a sporty royal blue on eyestays, toeboxes and heels. All Sci-Fi Fantasy branding — namely the spellout heel embellishments and the “X” logo placed directly on the tongue — is embroidered in yellow. White Jazz stripes and midsoles provide signature Vans flair.

Finally, the Tri-Lock Sandal is done up in simple black with green contrast stitching. Unlike the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool which split “Sci-Fi Fantasy” between the left and right heels, the Tri-Lock puts the full phrase on both heels. Black midsoles with a red Vans heel badge complete the footwear offerings. There’s also an accompanying jersey that reads “Generic Technology” in Chinese across the chest.

The Sci-Fi Fantasy x Vans collection will debut on the Vans webstore this summer. Retail prices have yet to be announced.”

Vans Skate x Lotties Skateshop – Collection (July 2020)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2020_06_lotties-skateshop-vans-old-skool-era-sk8-hi-release-info-2

Words via Hypebeast:

“Los Angeles skateboarding hub Lotties Skateshop has taken to Instagram to tease a trifecta of Vans collaborations. Consisting of fresh takes on the Sk8-Hi, Era and what appears to be a Sk8-Lo, each infused with Lotties’ signature irreverent flair, the co-created footwear offerings are decidedly ready for any and all summertime skate sessions.

Leading things off is the Sk8-Hi, done up in black with grey printed graphics, white contrast stitching and navy trim. This print mixes everything from hand-scrawled lettering to bold figures and the Lotties store phone number. The white Jazz stripe also adds a debossed text hit that reads “Griptape is $5 dipshit,” a cheeky jab at clueless customers that any skate shop or retail store employee can surely appreciate.

Next up is a vivid red Era that features a brown suede heel piece with yet another debossed Lotties graphic in a Goonies-style font. Lastly, the supposed Sk8-Lo swathes its quarter panels in white print and embroiders a jagged, lightning-style Lotties spellout graphic in tonal fashion on the heel.

Full images of the shoes have yet to be revealed, but Lotties has mentioned a July release in its Instagram posts, so you can expect more information soon.”

Vans presents CREDITS: An All-Women’s Skate Film by Shari White

Vans is proud to present Credits, a full-length skateboarding film featuring an all-women’s cast, shot and directed by filmmaker and skateboarder Shari White. Watch the live world premiere and Q&A session on Youtube.com/Vans beginning 4/21 at 12pm PST.

Just under a year in the making, Credits celebrates the diverse energy and personalities of the global women’s skate community. With a talented cast led by three underground favorites — Una Farrar, Breana Geering, and Fabiana Delfino —the film highlights the unique, individual style and expression of a group of friends that skate, hang and travel together.

Credits marks an important milestone for the women’s skateboarding community, exposing a title that in jest challenges the idea that women have often only been showcased in the “credits” section of skate videos. Here, in stark contrast to the former status quo, Una, Breana and Fabiana emerge, gracing the screen with full, complete parts in their own major video.

“Everyone had the opportunity to film their best skating over the past year, with their homies cheering them on,” film director White said of the project. “That is what skateboarding is all about! The laughter and friendship, along with the battles—I hope viewers get a sense of that feeling.”

The film includes cameo appearances from Vans team riders and friends, Beatrice Domond, Cher Strauberry, Clara Solar, Poppy Olsen (who also serves as the film’s art director), Helena Long, Adelaide Norris, Dayana Young and director Shari White herself.

Credits is just some best friends having a good time and making a skate video,” added Geering.

Credits was shot in 4:3 with a mix of HD and Super 8, with footage captured across the US and Canada, in addition to Melbourne, Australia and Barcelona, Spain between April 2019 and March 2020.

Vans Skate – Brighton Zeuner Collection (Available Now!)

image004

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

At just 15 years old, Brighton Zeuner is a force to be reckoned with. The two-time Vans park terrain skateboarding world champion serves as inspiration to young skaters everywhere in the face of a male-dominated professional skateboarding landscape.

“I have a different style every day,” Brighton admits, “but my dream was to create a collection that I personally like, and that other girls and guys would enjoy, too. I picked the primary colors because it reminds me of being a child and being young – those are my happy colors, if you will.”

Vans is celebrating Brighton’s distinct style and penchant for creative self-expression with the introduction of the Brighton Zeuner Old Skool Pro, a new colorway in the Vans Classics lineup, as well as an apparel pack, all designed under the direction of Brighton’s distinctive, color-driven ethos.

The Brighton Zeuner Old Skool Pro features extra tough, tech-driven attributes that Vans Pro Skate is known for. A suede-and-canvas upper receives custom Brighton Zeuner embroidery treatment, while Duracap technology delivers reinforced underlays in high-wear areas, creating an unrivaled level of durability that prolongs the life of the shoe. PopCush – a brand-new foam recipe—makes the shoe meticulously tuned for impact protection, superior cushioning and better energy return.

The pack also includes the Brighton baby tee, cami body suit, BF hoodie, skirt, and Authentic Pro Pant, plus the Brighton bucket hat, low-height crew sock, and colorblock backpack. Each are adorned with intricate detailing, including embroidery of her childhood signature and a bright floral pattern – inspired by a doodle in her gradeschool notebook— and rubberized heel tab patch.

“My favorite part of designing this collection with Vans was taking thrift items or clothes in my closet that I love, and using them as inspiration to create some of the dream pieces that I’ve always wanted,” Brighton said. “I’ve worn Vans since I first started skating, and it’s crazy to say I get to work with a company I’ve admired from such a young age.”

Representing the future of skateboarding, Brighton has accomplished a lifetime’s work all before she can legally drive a car. Her flawless trick execution underscores a natural ability to land every maneuver with style and grace and serves as an inspiration and example for aspiring skaters everywhere who are looking to break down the status quo.

“What inspires me the most about women’s skateboarding right now is seeing all the new girls out there,” Brighton adds. “Everyone is so different and has their own style, but we all have the same passion for skateboarding.”

Smash your own barriers with The Vans Brighton Zeuner Old Skool Pro and apparel pack, available now at Vans retailers and vans.com.
