Vans – Half Cab Pro “20th Anniversary” Taka Hayashi (September 2012)

For the month of September, the Half Cab 20th Anniversary celebration continues with the Taka Hayashi designed Half Cab Pro.  Constructed, utilizing a rubberized material around the toe, mudguard, and heel panel, while featuring a honeycomb nylon material throughout the shoe.  Dri-Lex is lined throughout the inside of the shoe, and some awesome brown and turquoise workboot laces finish these off nicely.  Also featured, is Taka’s variation of the Half Cab logo, as all of the artist series’ were able to remake.  Such a nice shoe, I expect these to do quite well!  You can purchase them now on the Vans webstore, by clicking on the pic above.

Vans – Half Cab Pro “20th Anniversary” – Steve Caballero (August 2012)

August is now in full swing, and that means it’s time for a new Half Cab, as part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the iconic shoe.  This month we get the honor of receiving the model designed by Steve Caballero, himself.  If you didn’t know, he’s a sick illustrator, and you can see lots of his work on his Instagram (@steviecab).  For his design, he went with a deep chili pepper red color, and created a dragon character that sits nicely on the tongue and side label.  One of the sickest artist series so far, for the Half Cab 20th Anniversary collection!  Available for purchase from Vans by clicking on the picture above.  These also qualify for free FedExground shipping!!!  Support us by purchasing these through our site!

Vans – Cab Lite 2012 (Sneakpeak!)

If you don’t follow Steve Caballero on instagram (@steviecab), then you’re missing out!  He posts up a ton of cool skate photos, of him and his family, and even his youngest one who looks to be about 3 years old, already discovering his natural born talent!  Oh, and he hangs with fellow legends of skate, such as Christian Hosoi (@christianhosoi), and a few others.  Last night, he posted up his new Pro model coming out later on this year, dubbed the Cab Lite.  It’s a variation of the Half Cab, but in a smoother, almost seamless design.  The shoe’s panels are broken down into 4 pieces.  The toe box is one piece.  The side panels are one piece, and the heel cap is the last piece.  The shoe looks awesome to me, and I was able to even get a response from him on Instagram, when I asked if it featured a Waffle Cup Sole, and he said yes, although the pic doesn’t appear to be a waffle cup sole, but rather the newer style midsole that was found on the Syndicate x W)Taps Sk8-Mid, the Supreme Half Cab and Old Skool Zero “Gum Sole” pack.  I’m not sure of the official name of that sole, but perhaps maybe he didn’t know what I was asking.  As news comes out, we’ll keep you posted, but until then, enjoy these pics from Mr. Steve Caballero, himself!

Vans Core – Grosso Pro Classics Pack (Spring 2012)

We’re no stranger to the collabs that Vans and Jeff Grosso put out each year, but the general public may not know the gems that they truly are.  Grosso’s roots are in pool and vert ramp skating, so his line always features a Sk8-Mid Vert Pro, but there’s always a few more added to the lineup as well, because we all need a little bit of variety in our lives!  This time, he chose to put the Old Skool 92 into the mix, and the color theme he went with for both models was straight up a nod to the classics.  Standard black, with white contrast stitching, while sitting on top of a white midsole with black foxing stripes.  Can’t forget to mention, the OG white jazz or “wave” stripe!  All of the Pro technology is there as well, like the removable PU footbed, and the Duracap toe bumpers.  The Old Skool gets done up in nubuck and leather, while the Sk8-Mid Vert Pro gets a premium full-grain leather, and pig suede mock up.  The Sk8-Mid has already been seen at a few Vans stores, but the Old Skool 92 should be following it up real soon.  Are these a must have to your collection?
