It’s been a minute since we’ve seen a S.P.O.T. collabo, and their designs have always been known to come out of left field, and this one is no different. This time, they’ve enlisted artist Russ Pope to do some handy work on the side panel graphics, featuring a bunch of heads in his signature hand-drawn pen style. The shoe is wrapped primarily in black suede, but with purple canvas side panels with the said artwork on it, while sitting on top of a white sole. Check out a few pics from SPoT’s webpage, while they were at Agenda Trade Show NYC this past week. If any new info arises, we will be sure to share it!
Up until now, we’ve only had some teaser photos of Vans team member Chima Ferguson’s new pro model shoe, and thanks to WearTested.com, we now have a better look. They attended Bright Show 2013, where they were able to preview the upcoming seasonal offerings from all of your favorite brands. These were designed by him, for him, and they look like a cross between a Zero Lo, a Chukka Low, and an Era. Taking cues and shape from each mentioned model, he came up with a sleek, fresh design for himself. Featuring the same vulcanized sole that we all love, but TPU reinforced to allow it to last a little bit longer. It will initially be released in a black, grey, and a navy patterned canvas version, featuring small leather accents here and there. Stay tuned for any release info.

John Cardiel always brings the heat with his signature Vans models, and this time he chose the Sk8-Mid as his model of choice, going with a work boot theme. On the Vans site, they aren’t labeled as VERT’s, but the notchback heel is normally reserved for those models. These come wrapped entirely in chestnut colored leather, with white contrast stitching and gold metal eyelets, while featuring standard work boot laces for that finishing touch. It’s a Pro model, so you know the deal. Padded footbeds, and DURACAP come standard. These are actually available for purchase now on the Vans online store. The Half-Cab Pro is back for the Holiday season, in a few new colorways, as well as a carry-over colorway. New for the season, is an all orange pair, as well as a classic black, with white contrast stitching. The carry-over colorway is the black “Super-Tuff” model, and last, but not least, is the Metallica Half-Cab which dropped a little ahead of schedule from the rest of these, but I felt that they should be mentioned as well. These are all available from Vans now by clicking on the pics above.

It’s finally here! The October 20th Anniversary Half Cab is finally here! And it’s finally the Metallica one!!! Stevie Cab’s favorite band in the world, has graced him with their very own design on the iconic Half Cab, his signature shoe, and boy, the devil is in the details. This shoe has it all. A custom clear sole, imbedded words on the sidewall, a sewn in patch on the lining, and Metallica branding on the outside! Not to mention, the “Metallicized” Half Cab logo. Sick! The best news, is that these are now available for purchase on the Vans website! Please support OTWS, and purchase these through us, by clicking on the pic above. Free shipping if you use the code TREAT65. So freakin’ stoked for these!

Wow! Just wow! These are going to be dope. Some familiar classic colorways are being brought back, in the reissue version of the Sk8-Hi, to coincide with the release of the Bones Brigade documentary by Stacy Peralta. For those of you who don’t know the difference with the “reissue” Sk8-Hi, it’s mainly lin the lace eyelet panel. It doesn’t create an ollie-pad towards the bottom where the panel meets the foxing, so it’s basically the same width all the way down the upper. Available in the OG Blue, and the Black/White Checkerboard colorways. Each pair features the “Bones Brigade” logo embroidered on the heel panel. Both please!!! These should be out mid October everywhere, and expect some apparel pieces as well!
A few words from Vans:
“You’ve seen him in the van and out on missions with us for a bit now, but Steve Van Doren and the entire Vans team would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome back the incomparable Jason Dill to the Vans Pro Skate family [we were his first shoe sponsor back when he was like, eleven]. To herald this magnificent news, we’re christening our formal alliance with a full week of in-depth and exclusive Dill content on-line. Yesterday, we posted every single one of Jason Dill’s skate interviews over the past two decades, and today we present Jason’s Alien Workshop ad archive, with nearly two dozen of Dill’s Alien ads spanning 14 years. Be sure to check out Jason’s Vans team page and check back often for something else new every day this week. Who knows, you might even learn something about Jason you never knew. “
