OFFTHEWALLSITE is proud to present our OTWS “Bones” snapback, which is our very first hat, of hopefully many more to come! The design comes from a doodle scratch I sign on many of my packing slips, similar to some graffiti tagging you might see in your own barrio. I came to the homie LazyWORK (Dennis Padua), and asked him if he could take my style, and turn it into a bones font, to represent our favorite Vans Syndicate collabo sneakers. Once D finalized the artwork, we then sat on it until we felt it was the right time to move forward with production. We discovered that fellow sneaker enthusiast Arvie G., owner of Sntmntl Co., manufactured hats, so we decided to do it now, and enlisted his services to produce our inaugural hat design. (This is a relief, as we are still awaiting our OTWS x Curro “Dragon” Pit Crew tees to be made). The end result is a clean, snapback, that represents OTWS to the fullest. The back arch features our name “OFFTHEWALLSITE”, just in case they didn’t already know!
Constructed in a black wool material, with green underbill. The hat is manufactured by the same company that makes Starter snapbacks, as well as a lot of your favorite boutique brands out these days. Fitment is a little bit roomier than your typical snap or camp cap, and I wear a 7 1/2 to 7 5/8, and I only had to back it out 3 dots. You know what I’m sayin’?
The hat will drop at 12pm noon tomorrow, 2/8/13, for PRE-ORDER, and will end on Friday 2/15/13. Why pre-order? Because most of the first batch went to my guys on the OTWS forum who were able to purchase them today, and they’re pretty much sold out. I didn’t want to give you guys any false expectations by not being up front! The hats will ship out in 2-3 weeks hopefully, unless something comes up. I will keep you posted on here.

I guess if OFFTHEWALLSITE operated around deadlines, then we’d be fired already! It’s a one-man-show around here, so what do you expect?! Anyways, we compiled a thread over on our OTWS forums, asking members to list their top 5 Vans sneaker releases of 2012. Everyone does their own version of this list, so why not let the OFFICIAL VANS SNEAKER COMMUNITY tell you what’s really good?! Oh, and if you’re new to OFFTHEWALLSITE, it’s the same as before. We had to include the entire release or pack, rather than voting on an individual model, as this is how most of our Vans are brought to market. After the tally, there was one clear favorite, but the rest ended up in ties for 2nd and 3rd, and so on, so I listed them as such.

Hey guys, this one’s been in the works for awhile now, and we can proudly announce our next tee for OTWS. This time, one of our OG members, Izam, aka joni_loco, from OTWS Malaysia, has designed this cool graphic tee for us. Inspired by Steve Caballero, and his 20th Anniversary of the Half Cab, he decided to design his version of a Cab style dragon graphic, while incorporating a motorsports theme, which he shares a passion for. Cabby himself is a hot rod enthusiast, so hopefully he’ll like this one as well! Who doesn’t like a good ol’ fashioned race day shirt anyways? This has vintage hot rod steez all over it.
The tee is black, with cream or beige ink. There’s a chest hit, as well as a large back logo. No pocket this time, so the tee will be $20. This tee’s production will be strictly based on how many orders we get in. There will be a delay, as we are taking in the orders, to fund the print job. We’ll try to be fast, even if it means going to another printer who we haven’t dealt with before.

I felt that some public awareness might go a long way with this, since it’s happened like 3 times already, to 3 different OTWS forum members, and perhaps to many more of you blog readers out there. The homie Daniel (akamedaniel) recently took advantage of the Nice Kicks 31% off Halloween sale, by ordering a pair of Vault Palm Leaf Era’s in Black, and instead he got a Sk8-Hi in Black. Ok, so you’re gonna fulfill an order with a similar color, but an entirely different shoe, and think it’s going to be okay? Mistakes happen, but when they happen to 3 different people, from the same tiny message forum for Vans sneakers, then that says a lot. Either you got some disgruntled employees, who don’t give half a fuck about their job, or they’re just on some good shit. Some really good shit, that makes them not know the difference between a damn low top Vans Era, and a high-top Sk8-Hi. VANS PUTS THE DAMN PICTURE OF THE SHOE ON THE BOX!!! These two shoes came in two entirely different sized boxes as well! I’m sorry. If you can’t pull inventory correctly, then you are a risk to your company. Luckily, this hasn’t ever happened to any of my orders from Nice Kicks, but with the multiple strikes on them, and their lack of urgency to correct the issues, I had to speak for others. Perhaps they’ll take it serious enough, from little ‘ol OTWS over here.
