The Vans OTW team has been hard at work lately, coming out with some great looking releases for the Fall, and they’ve released the pics for the Alomar, one of their best models in my opinion. This shoe takes it’s inspiration from the Chukka Boot, but presents itself in a more fashion forward design, with high top uppers, and a smooth cupsole. The material choices are always on point for OTW, and sometimes get overlooked, but not by us here at OTWS. The OTW brand is known to have variety, even with a limited lineup of models. They do it by offering different colorways, but each colorway having a different combination of materials. The average person might assume that OTW is re-upping a formerly used design, but in actuality it’s an entirely different shoe. It’s in the details people! For this season, the Alomar is offered up in 4 versions: Red with stone washed canvas; Black with full-grain leather and wool; Blue suede; and finally Mocha Bisque wrapped entirely in full-grain leather with round waxed laces. There’s definitely something for everyone here! These should be out very soon, if not already from your local OTW dealer.

The Vans OTW group has been hard at work, perfecting their line, and polishing the look of the lifestyle they portray. Catering to that person who wants to look a little bit more sophisticated than the rest of us. Sometimes you just gotta look good, while walking your pug, and sippin’ on an ice cold PBR. I kid! I kid! They’ve stepped up the quality, and have even sourced Vibram brand outsoles for their Breton boot. They mean business. The look that OTW has achieved this season is simple, clean, slimming, and should fit right in for the Fall, and with previews like this, it looks like OTW is aiming for the top of the Vans mountain this year. No longer the little brother to Vault and Syndicate, they want to be heard, and this preview should do the trick. Agree?

You gotta love the way that Primitive markets their product. I mean, take bad chicks, and take them out of their clothes, and get them to pose with your product. Simple, effective, and I love it. Don’t judge me! I think this was just a reminder that their Vans collaborations aren’t over yet, and that the OTW Bedford is due out soon, following up to their fantastic cable knit Half Cab. Stay tuned!

The Vans OTW team has been hard at work lately, concocting new creations for us all, and it seems like they’re on the right path! Check out this new boot from OTW, dubbed the Breton. Available in a High and Low model, looking similar to your favorite brand of fashion/work wear boot. These should fit right in with the rest of the brands out there, for those who stay loyal to Vans, and with the apparent level of quality, you won’t be misjudged. I mean, check it out! They’ve sourced actual Vibram soles, that are stitched, not glued to the boot! The lineup consists of a few variations, in different material combos as well, like OTW is known for. These will be available in 4 models: Black nubuck with ballistic nylon mesh; Black nubuck with waxed canvas, with a nylon strap similar to the Sk8-Hi Standard Issue; Brown oiled leather with Olive waxed canvas; and a Low top Bungee grey suede with tweed side panel material. No official info yet, but these are all available on eBay in a sample sz9.

One specific project we are excited about is the launch of our Lupe Fiasco x Vans OTW Collection footwear due out in the Holiday 2012 season. Hypebeast got the chance to sit down with Kobe of Subcrew, and Vans Asia Pacific Marketing Director, Jenn Kong, to discuss the creative process and inspiration behind the Subcrew x Vans OTW Alomar collaboration. Speaking on the specifics of the project’s progression and design inspiration of the shoe, both Jenn and Kobe delve into deeper subjects surrounding the global relevance of the Chinese streetwear market, the potential for creative expansion, and the shared affinity they hold for one another’s brand. A video at the conclusion of the interviews adds a further dimension to China’s first OTW collaboration.

The OTW team brings to us the Canvas Pack for the Spring, featuring the Bedford and Stovepipe. The Bedford model will be available in an all black colorway with a multicolored inner lining. The Stovepipe will be available in a black canvas make-up, while sitting on top of a white outsole. Available at your local Vans OTW dealers this month.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard or seen anything new regarding the upcoming Primitive x Vans collaboration project. They’re doing a Half Cab, and a Bedford from the OTW line, and we haven’t seen too many pics of the Bedford, but some new shots recently surfaced. Still no info, but I’m sure Mr. Andy Netkin and friends over at Primitive will give us the heads up! Please?!? Until then, enjoy these new pics.
This spring, the Alomar returns in a version constructed with canvas uppers that are bio washed for a tonal grey treatment throughout the uppers and outsole. A definitely clean new look for the Spring. They’re finished off with embossed tongue branding and stitch detailing. Available soon at your local OTW dealer.
