Vans OTW x Chris Kong – Alomar

Words via Highsnobiety:

“Vans OTW has teamed up with Hong Kong designer Chris Kong on a limited edition version of its Alomar mid top sneaker. Kong heads Garage Works Industries, known for its vinyl figures and toys, mostly in collaboration with well known contemporary artists. Years ago we have actually worked with Chris Kong on a special Highsnobiety version of their Ron English toy.”

Today we can give you a first preview of the collaborative sneaker that he created with Vans OTW. It comes in a striking red colorway with a thunder graphic embroidery on the side and a fading check pattern on the mid-sole.

Look out for a release soon and check out the video here above that was produced for the release of the sneaker.

Vans OTW x Knoll – Capsule Collection (Holiday 2012)

Words via Highsnobiety:

“With over 110 years of combined design experience, Knoll and Vans combine creative energies this Holiday season for the Knoll x Vans OTW Collection capsule. Not new to each other, it is the first time that the Vans OTW department has worked with the textile experts.

Both iconic brands in their respective industries, Knoll has been a leader in textile production since 1947 while Vans has created some of the most respected footwear styles in action sports and fashion since 1966. Vans decided to include the timeless fabrics of Knoll into the uppers of the Vans OTW Alcon, Ludlow and Piercy – all modern interpretations of their Classics.

The Knoll x Vans OTW Capsule Sneaker Collection is available this month at select retailers.”

Vans OTW – “Trout” Pack (Fall/Winter 2012)

Words via Hypebeast:

“While various elements of the fishing culture have been heavily relied upon by the likes of heritage brands like Filson and also tapped by street label projects involving brands like Stussy and Tilt or A Bathing Ape and Daiwa, the application within the realm of footwear has been fairly lacking. And yet, given the influx of all-over-prints over the last year, it seems that it was only a matter of time until fishing inspirations were paralleled into the world of sneakers in the same way as things like patterned paisley, woodland camouflage and animal prints have. For Fall/Winter 2012, Vans OTW is debuting a special range that appropriately carries the term, the “Trout” pack. Pictured here, two of the Vans OTW silhouettes — the Woessner and Cobern 2 — are the subject of the reinterpretation as the duo are enveloped in a mixture of canvas, cotton and leather “Trout” printing. Blending often synonymous elements of outdoorsmen and otherwise Americana garb, the Trout pack will begin hitting select Vans OTW stockists beginning in October.”

Vans OTW x Starks Laces – Woessner

I’m obviously in the wrong game.  I figured starting a website and forum about Vans would put me on the right path to my very own Vans collaboration, but from the looks of it, all you need to do is create shoe laces!  Just kidding, but here’s the latest collaboration from OTW.  They’ve chosen to let Starks founder, Alex Dymond, create his own variation of the Woessner, who decided to take the nautical route, featuring washed canvas uppers, zig-zag stitch detailing, suede accents and  metal eyelets, and finishing these off with you’ve guessed it, signature laces!  Peep the must-have floaty keychain as well!  Dope!  Check for these in September!

Vans OTW x Primitive – Blvd Denim Bedford (Available 9/1!)

Words via Primitive:

OFF THE WALL X ON THE BLVD

“After much success with our previous collaboration with Vans, we’re pleased to unveil our 2nd joint project, The Blvd Denim Bedford.  Mainly constructed of black suede & denim, accents like tortoise leather, reverse denim & copper detailing offer just the right amount of sophistication.

The shoes will be available this Saturday, September 1st exclusively On The Blvd at our Encino boutique & online store. Once they sell out they’ll be gone forever, so you won’t want to miss out on this collectible release from Vans OTW & Primitive Apparel.”

Follow The Blvd Denim Bedford as it enjoys a typical California day with a little bit of yoga, relaxation, sun & sand. It’s a rough life.

*Pricing and additional images will be available at time of release this Saturday.

These really turned out nice, and may be one of the best OTW releases thus far!  Black suede, and black denim, with hits of red?!  That sounds like a winner to me!  Notice the “Off the Wall, On the BLVD” slogan on the backside of the tongue as well.  So many tight details.  Everything a collabo shoe should have!  Nice job Primitive!

Vans OTW x DualForces – Capsule Collection

Vans OTW teams up with DualForces to bring us this awesome capsule collection.  Consisting of a Breton Boot High, in an all black colorway, comprised of a mixture of nubuck suede, and ballistic nylon.  A t-shirt will be offered, as well as an awesome blacked out MGB V2 “bug-out” bag, which almost all armed forces personnel are instructed to have in case of an emergency mission.  The bag is made by S.O. Tech, which provides military spec equipment to our American soldiers.  This thing’s legit, and has been given the OTW treatment, by way of an OTW velcro patch.  Sick stuff!  Expect this collection to start showing up at a few OTW dealers as of July 1st.  I’m sure some will be available online as well.
