Hypebeast recently had the chance to interview the official “OTW fam”, the advocates chosen by Vans, to spearhead the OTW line. Recently they went to Kin, in Shanghai, to launch the Holiday 2010 line. The Vans OTW Asia party included a select few locals to take in the various visual pieces created by the now-four Advocates. This included newly added advocate for OTW, but not new to Vans (see Syndicate), Mister Cartoon and a live mural session, photography from The Blackouts, a large-scale 21 print sets by Eric Elms, and motorcycle-based photography from Dimitri Coste based on his father’s racing pedigree. Read more on the entire feature here.
It’s been a minute since we’ve last seen an In4mationxVans collabo, and like clockwork, this Winter, they are scheduled to drop their next project. This time choosing to go with a new model from Vans, the Bedford, which is part of the more fashion-forward OTW collection. These will be covered in two variations of denim material, sitting on top of a gray sole. Their popular red accents added to the branding, and leather inner lining add a nice contrast to the mostly denim shoe, and the white laces are a perfect choice to top it off with. Pictured here, you may notice the insole is black and white checkered, with In4mation branding, but as with all previous In4mation Vans, the shop branding has always been removed for one reason or another. We will patiently wait to see if this will carry over from the sample version! These will be limited to 300 pairs, exclusively through In4mation. Due to drop early January 2011.

“The latest installment of Vans OTW Advocate Video Series gives a little more insight into Parisian Dimitri Coste. “Dimitri’s actually a pretty hard person to explain/label and is truly a master jack of all trades. Photographer, filmmaker, motorcycle and bmx enthusiast and largest known collector of Vans to name a few.. ”
Vans has released their second video for their OTW collection, involving The Blackouts, who are one of the advocates for the new sub-brand from Vans. Check out The Blackouts very own Atiba, and Ako Jefferson, as they describe their style, representing mostly the color “black”, while incorporating that “party” vibe.
Vans OTW recently had a launch party in Philadelphia, at the world famous retailer UBIQ. All the advocates from the OTW line were present, as well as a handful of other recognizable figures. Is that Pete Rock on the 1’s and 2’s?!? These OTW parties seem to be where it’s at, and hopefully we can get an invite or something to the next one! *hint hint* More pics of the party can be found on TLOM (The Left Over Milk blog).
Just a heads up, that the Vans OTW collection, is now available for purchase on the Vans webstore. Go cop your favorite style!
The Larkin is the subtle one of the group. Layin’ in the cut, with it’s low profile, don’t get caught sleepin’, cause this one will disappear before you know it. A clean silhouette, done up in premium leathers, like a khaki perforated premium leather, with suede toecap, and an all white perforated leather model, with matching toecap. The black carries a smooth textile, with black leather toecap, while the purple perforated leather, with suede toecap finishes it off. Something for everyone. Due out after June 1st, at your OTW dealers.

From the black pebble leather and ballistic mesh combo, to a gray suede model that has hits of light gray denim. Or what about the brown premium leather, with perforated checkerboard pattern?
