Vans Fall 2010 “Sex Pistols” Capsule Collection

An excerpt from the FreshnGood blog:

“The Sex Pistols are no ordinary band. Their story is long and complicated and not without casualties. Without them, popular culture in the last 30-odd years would be very, very different. The Pistols didn’t just kick down doors. They kicked them off the wall. For a band that really only released one album and four singles, they spawned a sea of imitators, and still do to this day.”

It looks like there’s a Slip-On shoe, as well as a few apparel pieces to accompany the collection.  Still no release info for the U.S.

Vans Fall/Winter 2010 "Versa" available now!

The Versa, a new model from Vans, was designed for the next generation of hardcore skaters, that performs well, and doesn’t look like anything you’re used to seeing in most skate shoes.  Alex Olson, a major contributor to this model, wanted all of those aspects incorporated into the shoe, and at the same time, incorporate technology that made it comfortable to skate in.  Utilizing the classier designed, High-grade EVA midsole with stitching, this shoe is sure to stand up to the abuse a skateboarder will put it through.  The Boardfeel XD construction technology, along with a slimmer profile, should meet the requirements of most skaters these days.  Available now at HUF SF.

Vans "Tuff Tech" Pack available now!

You might be familiar with TUF technology, which has been recently used, on the Supra Skytops, and TK Societies, and Vans is jumping in on this technology, with their “Tuff Tech” pack.  The 3 models chosen, the Versa, the Rowley 99, and the TNT II Mid Cup, are all seen here with the material applied to the toe boxes, which is where most skaters tend to shred their shoes first.  The exception, is the Versa, where they seem to have gone wild with the material, and placed it all over the shoe.  That style might suit you bike riders out there, who need a solid shoe, that doesn’t flex as much, but still looks dope.  Also, you’ll see some neon accents on each pair.  Each style, a different color.  Now available on the Vans Store online.

Spitfire x Vans "Keeping the Underground Lit" collection available now!

A little late on the release info, but we couldn’t forget to mention the upcoming collaboration project with skateboard company Spitfire.  The goal set by the two companies was to show the general public that skating can make a difference in people’s lives.  Both companies have put their resources together, to build a skatepark around their motto of “keeping the underground lit”.  Part of this project also involves a shoe collection, that is on point.  With 3 models being worked with, the Era Pro, Chukka Low, and the rookie model AV6, there looks to be something for everyone here.  An overtone of red shows up on all 3 models, but each has it’s own unique style.  The Era Pro, coming in a gray suede, with red lining.  The Chukka Low, coming in an all red suede and canvas material, with matching lining, and a spitfire logo embroidering on the heel, and last, the AV6, in an all black suede colorway, with red lining, and a white ankle tab.  All 3 models share a white on white sole, and a top red lace eyelet.  There’s also an apparel line to be released alongside these, and can all be purchased now at the Vans store online.
