First seen as part of the Vans Syndicate linte, the Half Cab Lite is now ready for it’s introduction into the mainstream. The streamlined silhouette takes our favorite classic Vans shoe, and updates it to today’s skate shoe standards. With minimalistic features, and slimming looks, these should hold up to the wear and tear easily. Constructed in a mixture of ballistic canvas and suede, these are available in two colorways: Navy/White/Orange, and Gold/White. “Vans Custom Culture is an annual competition in which high school art classes customize four heritage styles from Vans Classics with designs that reflect the three core values of the Vans lifestyle — action sports, art and music — as well as a “local flavor” theme reflecting the school’s local roots. Last year’s winners all hailed from one school, Rio Rancho High School in New Mexico, who claimed the $50,000 grand prize for their art program. The prize-winning kicks take the form of an Authentic featuring an all-over print inspired by the geography of New Mexico; a Classic Slip-On that pays tribute to tattoo culture with ink and skin artwork; Sk8-Hi channeling the spirit of rock music with a guitar graphic across the upper; and a 106 Vulcanized that gives the nod to surf lifestyle with beach imagery. Look for the Custom Culture pack to release in March at select Vans and Journeys locations, as well as Vans’ online shop. Registration for the 2013 edition of Vans Custom Culture ends February 11th. Vans – Aged Leather Old Skool (Available Now!)

There aren’t too many general release Vans that get my attention, but these “aged leather” Old Skools are really doing it for me, especially the brown colorway! Featuring a sophisticated look, similar to my holy grail Vans Syndicate x Jason Jessee Notchback Sk8-Hi’s. Now, these don’t feature the same premium grade leather as those, or most Vault releases, but for the availability and price point, I’d say they are a great value. Vans – Chima Ferguson Pro Model (First Look)

Up until now, we’ve only had some teaser photos of Vans team member Chima Ferguson’s new pro model shoe, and thanks to WearTested.com, we now have a better look. They attended Bright Show 2013, where they were able to preview the upcoming seasonal offerings from all of your favorite brands. These were designed by him, for him, and they look like a cross between a Zero Lo, a Chukka Low, and an Era. Taking cues and shape from each mentioned model, he came up with a sleek, fresh design for himself. Featuring the same vulcanized sole that we all love, but TPU reinforced to allow it to last a little bit longer. It will initially be released in a black, grey, and a navy patterned canvas version, featuring small leather accents here and there. Stay tuned for any release info.

Vans – Authentic “Snakeskin” (Fall 2013)

If you haven’t had an ass load of snakeskin print already, then these are right up your alley! Honestly, you can’t hate on these, because seriously they’re dope as hell. Riding the coattails of the Syndicate x Dill Authentic and the In4mation “Rattles” Chukka Low, these were setup to succeed from the start. Choosing a popular golden brown colorway for one pair was a safe choice, but the all white snakeskin may just be the more popular one here. Both come wrapped in the same snakeskin printed patent leather or vinyl, or whatever it is, and if you’re lucky you’ll have a matching pattern set! The metal eyelets are a nice touch, and the black laces add a necessary contrast to a hypnotizing pattern like these. Not much else to say, but go out and cop ’em later this month!

Vans x Curtis Kulig “Love Me” Pack (Available now!)

The collaboration between artist Curtis Kulig and Vans has finally started showing up at your local Vans accounts. His signature “Love Me” script can be seen in an all-over print on the Authentic, while a larger embroidered version can be found on the Sk8-Hi OG slim. Both are available up to a Mens sz10, so all you small footed people are lucky! Vans – Duck Camo Pack (Spring 2013)

We’ve been patiently waiting for this duck camo pack to drop for awhile now, and it looks to have started arriving at local spots, as well as online. There are two models in this pack, a Half Cab, and an Era. The Era is primarily covered in black suede, but with a camo tongue, and heel tab, and the Half Cab is primarily covered in the duck camo goodness, but with a black suede toe, and nylon tongue. Both are looking pretty dope right about now! Keep clicking on our photos, to see when Vans updates their sizing on these, as they’ve been fluctuating in inventory over the past few days, but have never shown a full size run. There’s also Kids and Toddlers versions as well!
