ZioZieglerCollection07

Words via Hypebeast:

“Known for his paintings and large-scale outdoor murals, San Francisco-based Zio Ziegler has teamed up with Vans for a Spring/Summer 2015 collaboration. Featuring timeless silhouettes like the Authentic, Sk8-Hi Reissue and Classic Slip-On, the collection takes cues from ’90s graffiti, skateboard graphics and native art as Ziegler brings his unique artistic aesthetic to each piece.”  These are now up on Vans website, but most sizes are already gone, so check it out by clicking on the pic above!

Vans Classics – Aloha Era 59 (Available now!)

Floral prints are something that will never go out of style with Vans’ laidback California lifestyle, and this Aloha Era 59 is a perfect example.  These feature a primarily blue backdrop, with nice red and yellow hibiscus flowers, as well as some green paisley shapes incorporated throughout the Hawaiian-themed print.  These are a must-have in your upcoming Summer rotation, so stock up on a pair now by clicking on the pic above, and support UTP!

LXVI – Sk8-Hi Lite (Spring 2015)

Vans has done a good job of figuring out what to do with the LXVI line.  They wanted to target an action sports “spectator” demographic, and they put out a lot of new designs, in the form of trainers, hiking boots, and casual sneakers, but it looks like they found a happy medium that might just be their future bread and butter.  They’ve incorporated the newer Ultra Cush soles with the classic silhouettes that we all know too well.  Keeping at least one Sk8-Hi, Authentic, or Old Skool in your current rotation is a must, and once you get your hands (and feet) on a pair of these new “Lite” pairs, you may just put your other pairs to rest.  They’re light, they’re flexible, they’re soft, and they look just like your originals.  Might I even add that they start to wear in the same manner, but the soles last a bit longer which is a common issue we will always deal with, with our beloved Vans vulcanized rubber soles.  For the Spring, Vans has revamped the Sk8-Hi Lite in a premium perforated leather version, which looks eerily similar to a California version that came out a few years back.  They’re perfect, and you can get them now by clicking on the pic above.

Vans Classics – Slip-On “Leather” Pack (Spring 2015)

Attention Slip-On fans!  This looks to be a big year for you if this is how Vans is going to start off the new year.  This leather pack is absolutely amazing, and the colors and textures lend themselves to almost any type of occasion.  We see some embossed croc patterns, a diamond-perforated pattern, a crackled leather version, and a black basket-weave texture, sort of like on a policeman’s belt.  Did you say you like all-white vulc soles?  Well good, cause that’s about all you have a choice of with these!

Vans Classics – Slip-On “Metallic” Pack (Spring 2015)

vans-spring-2015-classic-slip-on-metallic-pack-01(click pic to purchase from Vans webstore!)

Here’s something mostly for the ladies, or for those who “love goooold”…or silver.  Vans has created two Slip-Ons in a gold, and silver foil metallic mockup.  I try to keep the GR stuff to a minimum on here, but I had to make an exception for these joints.

Vans Creates Specialized Shoes for the Professional Kitchen

vans-partners-with-chef-tyler-kord-of-no-7-to-create-specialized-vans-for-the-professional-kitchen-2

As somebody commented on Hypebeast: “lol, sorry chuck hughes, i guess vans moved onto a cooler chef, nothing personal”, regarding the OTH x Vault “Black Crab” release, which was a special release, aimed at the people who work in kitchens, specially designed with non-skid soles, water-resistant uppers that featured a durable tough rubberized material.  As we always say, no collab is safe!  Too bad Vans couldn’t have worked with the people who originally brought the idea to the table.  Hopefully these come out well!

Words and pics via Hypebeast:

“It is no secret that while Vans shoes were originally designed for and marketed towards the surf and skateboarding culture, it has long since surpassed this niche to become the go-to shoes for work and play. Coming as no surprise, Vans have now redesigned the Classic Slip-On with Tyler Kord, chef and owner of the No. 7 family of restaurants, specifically for those in the restaurant business. Featuring an upper of water- and grime-repellant canvas treated with Vansguard® and a siped outsole to increase grip on smooth, wet kitchen floors, the shoe is completely black to hide any stains. Inside the shoe, we have enhanced footbed cushioning and arch support suited to prolonged periods of standing. See them in action at the No. 7 Sub kitchen in Brooklyn, New York, and look for them to drop soon at Vans.”

Vans x Star Wars – Capsule Collection (Holiday 2014)

star-wars-x-vans-2014-holiday-collection-1

Words via Hypebeast:

“Vans reprises its well-received Summer 2014 collection with the Star Wars team to create a new collection of silhouettes moving into cold months. Where the previous outing was a rather light affair, this time around Star Wars’ ultimate misunderstood villain (and his armored cronies) adorn the footwear and apparel. As such, Darth Vader’s likeness covers the Slip-On while also appearing alongside Stormtroopers and lightsabers on a murdered-out Sk8-Hi. Animated depictions of life on the ice planet Hoth – where the Galactic Empire overtook the Alliance – cover a black/white Authentic and a standout Era, both of which round out the pack.”

vans-classics-fall-2014-snake-pack-03-960x640

Words via Highsnobiety:

“The forthcoming season of Vans Classics revisits the forms of the Era, Old Skool and Half Cab for a five-piece set of snake colorways. Steve Caballero’s signature mid-top, the Half Cab, dominates the pack with a trio of styles in the range. Outfitted in embossed reptile-styled uppers and paired with a padded tongue, the Half Cab presents tonal red and eclipse colorways alongside a mixed khaki/brown offering. The mixed scale materials extend to the low-top portion of the collection with allover coverage of the Era and quarter panel detailing on the Old Skool. Clean white midsole finish and vulcanized waffle outsoles put the finishing touches on the assortment. The Vans Classics Fall 2014 “Snake” pack is now available at select Vans retailers.”

Vans Classics x Star Wars – Capsule Collection (Fall 2014)

vans-x-star-wars-classics-footwear-collection-40

I know, I know, we’re a little late to the party with the info on the Star Wars x Vans collection.  Making it’s follow-up debut, to the Vault By Vans x Star Wars pack, the general release collection has been at retailers since June 1st.  This is the first collection to drop, featuring some fashion forward designs, mostly comprised of patterns, such as a floral Yoda print, a Boba Fett Camo one, as well as a Storm Trooper paisley bandana print.  Designed to wear with anything, and not just be a collector piece, which is a smart move.  There are a few accessories as well, which aren’t pictured here, which include a backpack, a snapback hat, and some clothing and socks.  Head to your nearest Vans retailer, as they should all have them in stock.  Oh, and next season, look for a more “darker side” of the Star Wars campaign to emerge.
