We’re going to start announcing artists for our Waffurusōru Vans art exhibition on 6.6.13 at Yojie Japanese Fondue in Diamond Bar, to show appreciation for their contribution. We’re proud to announce Ashley Seo will be joining our exhibition!
Check out the latest Vans to arrive at Silo. Three Chukka Lows, a Chauffer from Vans Surf, and a TNT5. Check out the awesome blue pair of Chukka Lows that stands out among the rest, and peep pics of the other models after the jump. If you’re interested in purchasing, hit up Brant, of Silo at (308) 395-8987, or PM him on our forums. He goes by “silokinesis“.
(For those of you who don’t know, Brant, owner of Silo in Grand Island, Nebraska, is our most helpful, and valuable OTWS member! Always willing to track down a pair of Syndicates for us, and restocking on all of the popular models that other shops just can’t push through their retail outlets. If it’s out there, he’ll find it for you! Thanks brotha!)

As OTWS continues to grow, it never ceases to amaze me of some of our newest members’ collections. Almost every contributing collector on our forum has something that the rest of us don’t. When one of our newest members posted up his introduction, he just so happened to add this little gem in there, right at the end…knowing that jaws would drop in shock. How many of us can say we own one of the very first Vans collabos from Supreme? Let alone, still DS and not even laced up! These Old Skools came out back in 1996, six years before their first Nike SB collaboration, and long before the Supreme hype was in full effect. There were 3 colorways, 2 were camo, and the 3rd was this pair in a white and gray colorway. The best part about these, is that they were made in the USA! I asked Joni to snap me some detailed shots to share with you all, and here they are. If you have some rare, or special Vans that you wouldn’t mind sharing with us, then let me know. I’d be more than happy to post them up on here. Thanks again Joni, our newest member, all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the pics!

Always going that extra mile to showcase the latest Syndicate release, and the back story, which almost all Syndicate releases have, Brant of Silo has shared a few pics of his display in the shop. I wish more shops paid this much attention, and respect, to the Syndicate line. It is truly a quality product, and deserves this kind of a spotlight. The price is completely justified, as long as it’s marketed as such…AND…shops are allowed to sell online, to get the shoes into the hands of those who have a very hard time finding it. Ask any shop that struggles with Syndicate, if they used to struggle with it when they were allowed to sell online. I really don’t think so. Check out some more detailed shots of the kicks, after the jump.

I stopped into RIF LA today, because I happened to be in the area eating lunch with my sister. I wish I could get out to their spot more often, because they always have amazing in store deals that I read about on their infamous blog. It’s also fun to see all the people that I know on their blog, and fellow OTWS members who either hang out there, or work there. I mentioned to Jeff who just so happened to be wearing one of his 12 pairs of Syndicate 003 W)Taps Chukkas, that I run the OTWS blog. Actually, I didn’t say it like that, because I didn’t start OTWS, I just resurrected it! It was always there, it just so happened to recreate itself through other forums, as member groups. I just felt we needed our own spot back, and it’s been steadily growing ever since. The core members contribute, and we all keep things running smoothly as possible. Anyways, Jeff has mentioned OTWS on the RIF Blog, so a big big big thank you goes out to him for that. I also had my pic taken, which kinda makes me feel weird because I don’t like taking them! Some of you may know me from a few forums here and there, but in person, I introduce myself as Bill, or Billy…but now there’s a face to go with “DJ Guamstyles”. You’ve probably seen me lined up with you at a sneaker release, most of the time, with my girl Tintin, cause we always go together, but now you can put a face to a “screenname”.
By the way, stickers and Tees are due out soon, and if you haven’t purchased a tee, designed by our OTWS fam member Crisone, aka CrisUno, then tomorrow the 29th, is the last day to purchase this release. Many more are to come, but this one’s a must cop! Get info on how to purchase, here. This spotlight on the RIF blog should help us gain more traffic, and more members, and I’ll be watching the site traffic over the next few days! Once again, thanks to the homie Jeff, and the fine peeps over at RIF LA!
The good homie Rainier has had a great year for his sneaker consignment store “Footage” in Brea, and now he has relocated to a larger location, in downtown Fullerton, as a result. I know you’re probably wondering what is this doing on here, but a large portion of sneaker collectors, like some of you, have either bought or sold something from him off eBay, or at his shop. He is a supporter of OTWS, and is a personal friend of mine, so that’s that. Stop by if you find yourself coming to the OC anytime, or for you out of towners, if you are making a Disneyland trip, then just head north on Harbor Blvd for about 15 minutes, to his shop! You can also purchase the shoes on the web shop at coolshoeshine.com.
Shoutout to Shoewolf for the exclusive first pics!

I’ve been a follower of Nikki S.’s blog, OffTheWall, for about a year now, ever since our former OffTheWallSite.com site went down, and she always has amusing Vans related items to post up. I’ve never contacted her before, but hopefully she will take notice of our community, and will help spread the word about us. She works in the marketing dept. of Vans, from what I’ve read on her blog, and it’s nice to see another side of the Vans community, other than the skate/streetwear side of the business, which we tend to show more interest in. I wanted to show you these dope cookies that a friend of hers had made, of little OTW skateboard logos. After drooling over these, then head on over to her blog to check out the most random, and coolest Vans related stuff you’ve ever seen! Give us a shout out Nikki, if you’ve read this! – Guamstyles.
