Vans Pro x Fucking Awesome – Epoch ’94 Pro (1.21.17) Available @silostore!

FUCKINGAWESOME_VANS-OVER

Vans and Fucking Awesome come together to release their latest collection, the Epoch ’94 Pro.  We’ve been anticipating these to drop for a little while now, and things have been kept under wraps ’til about last week.  Well, the flood gates are now open, and we’re getting a few good photos of the pack now.  There will be 3 colorways available at a very few select Vans Pro accounts, supposedly those who carry the Fucking Awesome line which seems fitting.  We haven’t seen the Epoch silhouette in awhile.  The Ray Barbee collab comes to mind!  The 3 colorways chosen for this release are black, white, and bright blue and feature debossed “Fucking Awesome” logos all over the shoe’s upper.  The first two colors sit on top of a white vulcanized sole, and the white pair has a navy foxing stripe, both featuring gum waffle soles, while the bright blue pair sits on a dark purple vulcanized sole, with clear waffle grip bottoms.  There’s also a custom box created for this release, which is always nice.  These will drop this Saturday, the 21st at Silo, and on their webstore, as well as at a few Vans Pro “Syndicate allocated” accounts, as stated before.

Vans Vault x DSM x Braindead – Sk8-Hi Reissue LX (1.14.17)

kyle-ng-brain-dead-dsm-vans-sk8-hi-1

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back into the swing of things, and Vault is kicking things off in a big way, with Dover Street Market and this past year’s most popular brand Brain Dead.  They’ve created 3 tonal colored Sk8-Hi’s, covered in a checkered high-density print, featuring a Brain Dead label on the side of the shoe, and a unique foxing with a molded graphic that says “stamp out reality”, which is their way of saying “change the status quo”.  Interesting.  The pair is going to be available in black, white, and forest green, and will release exclusively through DSM.  Don’t sleep if you plan on getting these.  I can’t see them sitting for very long.

Vans x Sick Of It All! – Sk8-Hi (1.3.17)

SickOfItAllSk8-Hi-1

By the time you read this, these will have already sold out.  Vans has teamed up with hardcore band Sick Of It All!, to pay tribute to their 30 years of existence.  The band was formed in 1986, so SOIA decided to create a very limited run of only 86 pairs of the Sk8-Hi that you see here.  Featuring an all-over print of their logo, and custom embroidered band name on the heel panel.  The site link is still up, so perhaps a restock might be in the works, but they will go fast again if they reappear.  Good luck, and enjoy more pics after the jump.

Vans x Kiroic – YOTR “Year of the Rooster” Pack (12.16.16)

Vans_YearofTheRooser2

Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, celebrates the Year of the Rooster with a specially designed footwear collection with Shanghai based footwear designer Kim Kiroic. Inspired by the lifecycle of a Rooster and Punk Rock culture, this collection consists of six silhouettes under the Vault by Vans and Classic categories.

The design direction for the Year of the Rooster campaign came from Shanghai based creative Kim Koroic, who has worked on Vans capsules for a number of years. Paying homage to individuals who embrace the “Off The Wall” spirit, Kim has grounded this year’s collection in classic punk soul. The two Authentic Platforms making up the Vault by Vans selection draw reference from punk rock culture and Vans heritage with an all over checkerboard print, including leather braided upper, and creeper height platform sole.

The four Classic Vans silhouettes draw inspiration from the rooster’s lifecycle, from an egg to an adult. The Old Skool made with nude-colored leather, emulates the rooster’s egg color. The platform Authentic is complete with all over yellow flannel and silk shoelaces and is reminiscent of the baby chick. Continuing down the lifecycle of the Rooster, the white leather Slip-On comes with a custom three color fringe depicting the rooster’s tail feathers. Rounding out the Classic collection, the Mid Skool has a textured faux leather heel counter indicating the roosters comb. This footwear collection is all about growth and cycles, similar in concept to the growth of punk rock and creativity central to the Vans’ brand heritage.

Kim Kiroic provided a selection of hand-drawn artwork, which make up the visual language of the collection and have been incorporated into the logo design. His artwork draws parallels between punk rock and individuals who carry the “Off the Wall” Spirit. This Chinese New Year, Vans puts a stake in the ground to “Escape the Ordinary” and disrupt what we think of as normal. Vans will continue to fly the flag of creative expression, and this December the Rooster will lead the charge for all who wish to push the limits of style, creativity, and overall awesomeness!

The Vans Year of the Rooster Collection will be available first through the Vans Tmall Flaghship Store and KKtp.com on December 16th. All other accounts and online stores will open on December 20th. Log onto www.vans.com.cn for a location near you.

Vans Snow x Jamie Lynn – V-66 Snowboard Boot, Sk8-Hi MTE, and Slip-Er (Winter 2016)

FA16_Snow_JamieLynn_Merch_Horizontal

Vans honors snowboarding legend, Jamie Lynn with the debut of the Vans V-66 snowboard boot in Jamie Lynn’s signature colorway. A strong lace-up snowboard boot built for every rider and terrain, the V-66 snowboard boot embodies a classic Vans look, built with the technology and support demanded by snowboarding’s most iconic style pioneer, Jamie Lynn.

A true innovator of snowboarding style and part of the Vans family for over 18 years, Jamie has helped cultivate today’s snowboarding landscape. Not only known for his trademark backside air’s and classic style, he is also a gifted artist, skateboarder, and musician.

The Vans V-66 in Jamie Lynn’s signature colorway sees an elevated aesthetic this season, boasting premium material and function while highlighting Jamie’s own vibrant Pacific Northwest-inspired artwork. The V-66’s traditional lace-up boot construction is packed with features carefully engineered to form an all-terrain boot with freestyle inclinations. The Tongue Lock Down System helps pull down the tongue as you tighten the boot at the instep to eliminate heel lift, and the Reach Around cuff strap attached to the inside shell of the boot allows snowboarders the choice of wrapping the strap around the internal liner or the exterior tongue, providing a custom fit. The V-66 also features an internal wrap harness for a more personalized fit, Waffleflex outsoles for lightweight performance, heat-moldable Response liners for a dialed-in fit with precision response, and dual-density UltraCush V2 footbeds for mechanical support and dampening.

Vans expands Jamie Lynn’s signature footprint further to include a SK8-Hi MTE, showcasing his unique artwork on the sidewall, in addition to a Vans Slip-Er to provide the full off-mountain kit.

Vans Vault x Opening Ceremony – VT Mono Pack (Dec. 2016)

OldSkool1

It looks like Opening Ceremony is back again with another high end monochromatic themed release.  Constructed in the usual premium leather, with tonal vulcanized rubber outsoles, they switched things up a little this time by adding the VT Prison Issue LX to the lineup.  The VT Sk8-Hi LX and VT Old Skool LX are back again as well, in some rich new colors.  We’ve got Bison, Harvest Pumpkin, Beige, Black, and Chive which is my personal favorite.  Each pair breaks the $100 price point a little bit, but you’re getting a top notch Vans shoe, in a highly limited production run, in some classy colorways.  What more could you ask for?  Get on your grown folk steez for a change!  Purchase them all from Opening Ceremony’s webstore, or stop in to one of their retail locations.

Sk8-Hi’s.  Pretty dope.  Pretty dope.  These are now available from REMIX in Taipei, so if you’re looking for a pair, then get with that Asia proxy ASAP!
