Vans x Kids of Immigrants – “Anything Is Possible” Old Skool (8.20.21)

thumbnail_image007

The trailblazing Los Angeles-based collective Kids of Immigrants has built one of the most exciting brands out right now through their fearless commitment to community and empowerment. Today, Kids of Immigrants announced a new footwear release with Vans and Greenhouse inspired by the slogan, “Anything is Possible.” True to the essence of Kids of Immigrants, the shoe honors their collective upbringings and their parents, whose own sacrifices and journeys allowed them to dream of the unimaginable. It follows two successful footwear collaborations with Vans and Greenhouse that sold out in mere minutes. The Vans x Kids of Immigrants collaboration will be available for purchase on August 18th, 2021 through the Greenhouse app and then on the Kids of Immigrants site on August 20th, 2021.

Designed with fabrics that lined KOI’s upbringing, the silhouette allows them to wear their stories with pride. It transforms the Vans Old Skool design into a nostalgic mosaic featuring corduroy, shearling, velvet, paisley, and patent leather. With a Chinese laundry bag-inspired insole, a yellow sole that reminisces household lamps, and a lining of coordinates that connect to the apartment where Kids of Immigrants started, the shoe is a true make-up of their DNA.

Activating the essence of Anything is Possible, the beloved spiritual speaker and author Rob Hill brings his signature, positive affirmations to the release as the narrator of the campaign. Additionally, the campaign imagery spotlights three tenacious women: Aurora Santos, Jenny Le, and Kika Keith – all deeply embody the spirit of Anything is Possible. In a commitment to empowering the future generation, mentees from the organizations Color of Compton and Inner City Artist assisted in producing the Anything is Possible shoot and lookbook. From set design to incorporating stills from these youth photographers, the experience allowed mentees to step into their dreams.

Rooted in community, love, and empowerment, Anything is Possible goes beyond product. It serves as a vehicle to amplify voices, inspire and celebrate the people that nurtured KOI. This approach has set Kids of Immigrants outside of the pack and positioned them as leaders in fashion and beyond. By building deep connections through products, events, and beyond, they have amassed a cult following and a tremendous demand for the brand across the country. The brand has also become a favorite of creatives and talent such as Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, Kehlani, Lil Uzi Vert, Jhene Aiko, Odell Beckham Jr., and many more.

Like the history, culture, and beliefs behind Kids Of Immigrants, the brand is unisex and for all people.

FA21_Vault_SNS_5

Today, Vault by Vans and SNS reveal their latest collaboration. The partnership between the long-time companions includes a Vans OG Authentic LX and a SNS apparel capsule including a t-shirt and linen pants, dropping on August 18th exclusively at SNS.

Vans has helped shape the DNA of California-footwear since 1966 and to pay tribute to this extensive history, SNS discovered a print in the brand’s archive from the early ‘90s honoring the beaches around Southern California. Crafted with signature canvas, a vulcanized midsole with “SNS” lettering and the iconic waffle outsole, the Authentic LX features the artwork printed all over the upper. The striking design is also featured on the premium cotton short-sleeve tee. Equipped with a chest and back print, the SNS t-shirt is followed by a summer-ready linen pant with an adjustable waistband, button closure, zip fly and several pockets to complete the Vault by Vans x SNS look.

Vault By Vans x JJJJound – Sk8-Mid VLT LX (8.14.21)

JJJJVansToolkit-17-IG-GRIDH

As a second collaboration, the Vault by Vans Style 37 is reworked through JJJJound’s minimalistic lens.

JJJJound, a Montreal-based studio, was launched initially in 2006 as a digital mood board exploring the recurring patterns in design. Over the next decade, JJJJound evolved beyond the realm of the Internet and was made tangible by collaborations with artists and brands that share their strong design ethics. The result is a commitment to a different way of thinking, finding new ways to interpret products by respecting their original story.

Rich in its history and timeless in its design, this special edition of the Vault by Vans Style 37 stays true to its origin. It honors its status as the best in its class, for both sport and style, with its refined design elements. This enduring silhouette is depicted in materials selected for their durability, and colorways are carefully diluted into a sophisticated palette evoking the state of heavily used skate sneakers. This special edition lets the details speak for themselves—quietly, subtly, but convincingly.

The retrospective sneaker debuted in 1978 as the brand’s first high-top skate shoe, which integrated the ankle guard concept into its design. The short-lived style was only in production for one year before its design evolved into the beloved Sk8-Hi currently at the core of the Off The Wall franchise. Sometime in the 1990s, Vans reissued the Style 37, and since then, it has been reissued and rediscovered as the Sk8-Mid VLT LX.

The Vault by Vans x JJJJound Sk8-Mid VLT LX in Black is available August 10th at 9AM PST/12PM EST on jjjjound.com.

The Brown colorway is available August 11th at 9AM PST/12PM EST on jjjjound.com.

The Green colorway is available August 12th at 9AM PST/12PM EST on jjjjound.com.

The Vault by Vans x JJJJound Sk8-Mid VLT LX will be available at select Vault by Vans retail locations globally from August 14th at 9AM PST/12PM EST.

Vault By Vans x BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS – Collection (Coming Soon!)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2021_07_vaultbyvans-bedwin-teaser-1

Info via Hypebeast:

“Japanese label BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS has debuted a new collaboration with Vault by Vans, introducing new takes on the Authentic and Old Skool silhouettes. Continuing the label’s Americana and West Coast influence, the capsule is heavily inspired by heritage textiles, with vintage made-in-USA bandanas used throughout the collaboration.

The two silhouettes prominently feature these bandanas, each of which is cut at different seams to showcase the collection’s craftsmanship and to ensure no two pairs are identical. The Authentic silhouette arrives in three different bandana colorways, complete with a red foxing stripe and red “Off The Wall” heel logo.

For the Old Skool, BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS and Vault by Vans have honored its history as the first shoe to ever sport the signature sidestripe. The silhouette is constructed from a mix of rich blue canvas and suede, which acts as a base for the bandana detailing on the tongue, sidestripe and medial panel. The bandana influence then continues onto a range of clothing and accessories.

Take a look at the collection after the jump, and expect the BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS x Vault by Vans Old Skool and Authentic to release in the near future at select Vault dealers.

Vans Skate x Dime – Wayvee (7.17.21)

https-_hypebeast.com_image_2021_07_dime-vans-wayvee-release-date-info-6

Info via Hypebeast:

“Dime is continuing its longtime partnership with Vans by helping the brand introduce its new Wayvee skate silhouette. A shoe that’s equal parts past, present and future, the Wayvee boasts high-end skateboarding performance and plenty of Dime’s signature Montreal flair across two familiar colorways: “Evening Blue” and “Egret.”

Though the Wayvee’s sturdy upper may call to mind images of ’90s and ’00s skate classics, it’s blasted into the future by translucent TPE mesh quarters and toeboxes surrounded by supple suede. “Evening Blue” accents these panels with a dark shade of navy, while “Egret” offers a more monochromatic look that blends the panels into the entirety of the shoe.

Branding is handled by Dime spellouts on the heel, insole and outsole, a co-branded hit on the tongue and Vans’ signature Jazz Stripe on the quarter. Both pairs also feature Dime’s signature yellow hue on the midsole’s rubberized badges and the insole. From a performance standpoint, the Wayvee uses a DURACAP toe cap that’s designed to handle the wear and tear of flip tricks, a cushy LuxeLiner sockliner and a vulcanized Wafflecup outsole for flex and board feel alike.”

Look for the Dime x Vans Wayvee to release via Dime’s webstore on July 17th.
