Vans Syndicate x Luke Meier Zero Lo Navy (Supreme Exclusive)

So yesterday was quite a madhouse over at Supreme LA, and I was one of the fortunate few who was able to walk away with a pair of these Navy Zero Lo’s.  One of the employees had even mentioned that their store only received about 20 pairs of these to sell, so if anyone was hoping to come down there a day later, expecting to pick up a pair, then you will be disappointed.  Sizes were extremely limited, and there were no 11.5s so I had to get a 12, just like a lot of the newer Syndicate releases.  To tell you the truth, this shoe looks identical to the black pair, if you are standing about 15 feet away.  It’s only when you’re in direct sunlight, or standing next to a black pair, that you may notice the subtle difference.  Maybe that will make a lot of you happier now, if you didn’t get yours.  The only Supreme branding was on the insole, which was already rubbing off, when I took them out of the box for the first look.  I guess the gold printing didn’t cure properly, because my other Syndicate Zero Lo’s aren’t producing this same problem.  Once you wear these, most likely all the gold printing will be on your socks, and you’ll have blank insoles.  The Zero Lo is a classic, timeless shoe, and the navy colorway is a great touch, but for a Supreme release, this shoe may go unnoticed, compared to all of their other Vans.  Not necessarily a bad thing!  Enjoy the pics.

Luke Meier x Zero Lo “S” Supreme Exclusive

For black friday this year, Supreme will be releasing an exclusive navy blue colorway of the Zero Lo that Luke Meier, of Supreme, designed for Vans Syndicate earlier this year.  There has been rumors of a Supreme exclusive release of this shoe for awhile, but it didn’t make sense to anyone, and the photos floating around on the internet had poor white balance, so the shoes looked like the black Syndicates.  The shoe is almost identical to the black pair, being that it has the color matching ollie patch, and the inner lining print looks similar, except for the small Supreme logo.

To highlight the shoe’s launch, a special video was created and directed by Khalil Joseph which offers a good representation of Luke Meier’s personal aesthetic and feel. For more information, check the Vans Syndicate microsite.

Vans x Santigold Sneakers

Coming in the Spring of 2011, will be these fresh sneakers for the ladies.  Vans is killing it right now with the collaboration projects, and this one you see here, with music producer/writer/artist Santigold, is wild, and representative of her style.  She’s a talented woman, and this is just one more thing to add to her resume.  Her punk rock style is evident throughout these sneakers, with the black leather, and chains, but it’s got her classy golden style all over it.  Peep the jump for more pics as well.

Deluxe x Vans Zapato Del Barco (detailed pics)

The other day we posted up info about the next Deluxe collaboration, involving a unique variation of the Zapato Del Barco, and today we’ve found new detailed photos of the release, via HighSnobiety.  These are creating a little buzz, and I think they will do quite well in the Spring, when they release.

Vans x Carhartt Authentic (review with detailed pics!)

Anyone who slept on these Carhartt Authentics might be disappointed after this review.  It’s no surprise that press pics don’t always show the best attributes of a sneaker, and that words alone won’t determine if a person will buy that shoe, or not.  So many times we hear, “this shoe looks much better in person”, even if the person saying it, is obviously trying to justify their purchase of an unpopular shoe.  I don’t want to tell you that you need this shoe, because it may go with nothing that you wear, or you could care less about wearing Authentics, but I believe that these pics will help you determine if it’s a “must cop”, or an “easy pass”, as the people like to label kicks these days.  A few years back, Carhartt teamed up with Vans, for a Chukka, and a Half Cab, that were constructed in their popular duck canvas material.  I believe the shoe was ahead of the trend for the season it was released, and that’s why it wasn’t an instant seller when it released, even though it was fairly limited.  This time may be different, because the colors chosen for this release, fall right in with the most popular colors that other brands are going with as well.  The timing is right for this release, and I don’t see just Vans collectors, and sneakerheads picking these up.  It’s definitely in the running for top 10 releases of the year, in my book.  Check out the pics, for some nice detailed shots of the suede, and ripstop nylon fabric, as well as the insulated lining that will keep your feet warm when you’re out there sitting in the cold, lined up for that next sneaker release!

Vans x Carhartt Authentics (Available now @ UnionLA!)

Us Americans are in luck, thanks to Union Los Angeles, as they have just received the newly released, and supposedly European exclusive, Vans x Carhartt Authentics.  The news broke late last evening via Union’s Twitter, and they have tweeted a few other pics since.  They are the ONLY US distributor for this release, and it came totally unexpected.  It makes sense, being that they are the US distributor for Carhartt Street Wear.  These are not expected to last long.  Now we don’t have to enlist our European OTWS Fam in picking these up for us, and paying the high cost of shipping across the Atlantic!  Call them now at 323-549-6950, or visit them at 110 S. La Brea Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90036, right next door to Stussy and UNDFTD.

Vans x Pendleton x All Nations Skate Jam collection

Native non-profit organization Nibwaakaawin, the organizer behind the All Nations Skate Project, which is an outreach program centralized around skateboarding, has collaborated with Vans, on these exclusive shoes, to help with their fundraising efforts.  They chose to work with the Sk8-Hi, Slip-On, and Chukka Low, in either a red, or turquoise colorway, with each pair being constructed with a matching red or turquoise Pendleton brand Native American print. There was also a tee made, but those aren’t available for purchase anymore.  The shoes premiered EXCLUSIVELY at the annual All Nations Skate Jam earlier this year, and sold out almost instantly.  They had a few more produced over the summer, for another one of their events, and they are now offering their remaining pairs up for sale, via email at nativeskates@hotmail.com, or phone order at Red Paint Printing (517) 265-2031.  Mention that you heard about these from Bill Cruz, and tell them I said sorry, because I found out this info from my friend’s Twitter, and they might be inundated with phone calls after this!   Just an FYI, the Sk8-hi’s are almost all gone.  I only was able to purchase the Chukka.  The rest of the story on these beauties, can be seen on the ANSJ blog.

Vans Vault x Bodega “Real Tree” Chukka Review

I’ve finally received my pair of Bodega Real Tree Chukkas, after a week long journey across the entire U.S. to get here, which means I can give you guys a better look at these now!  The only down side is that by the time you guys decide to buy these, the 8, 9.5, 10, and 12’s are all gone.  Sizing up should be fine.  For me, these seem to fit true to size, not loose, like your classic Chukka, even with the thinner insole that these come with.  That’s right, no padded insole, similar to the first 3ft High and Rising Chukka series.  The tongue has some slight padding as well.  As with most Bodega collaborations, the materials are their first priority, and the same runs true for these.  At first glance, these look like a standard olive-colored nubuck, found on your typical Vault or CA release, but these appear to have been constructed with a softer, premium nubuck, like pig suede, once again setting themselves apart from the rest, and making their first Vans collaboration one to add to the books.  Think it’ll be in next year’s All Gone book?  It should be!  Anyways, enough politics.  The inner lining is covered in one of Real Tree’s signature camo patterns, as well as the heel strip, and I hope the consumers don’t think that Bodega copied Nike SB on this collaboration, because this one was in the works for over a year, at the least!  One other unique detail is the smooth toe bumper, which you don’t see every day on a Vans shoe.  The heel tab is also subtly customized, which you can check out in the pics after the jump.  These are finished off with gold colored hexagon nut, work boot styled lace eyelets, with matching work boot brown laces.  One last feature, is the Poron insoles, covered in brown suede, which are breathable, lightweight, flexible, and maintain their cushioning for maximum performance.
