Vans x CVLT – Bike Grips (fits motorcycles!)

Just an FYI, in case you guys were wondering.  The CVLT “Waffle Grip” bicycle grips should fit on your motorbikes!  The homie Eddie aka “Duffm4n”, sent me some shots of them on his GSXR.  Not sure if other bikes have different diameter handlebars, but if not, then you’re in luck!

Thanks Duffm4n!

Vans Japan x Alexander Lee Chang – Chukka Boot (Summer 2011)

Vans Japan has gotten together with Japanese designer Alexander Lee Chang once again, to create this interesting Chukka Boot.  With a primarily black and white checkerboard canvas, and black patent leather on the outside panels, these sort of give off that “rockabilly” attitude.  Throw on a leather jacket, and a chain wallet, and hop into your Toyota Corolla…err, I mean your 194o Mercury Coupe!  (Fashion tip:  your car must match your attitude/lifestyle).  The sidewalls are white with black graphics, and there is a black toecap as well, which gives it a nice contrast.  These are finished off with “ALC” branding embroidered on the tongue.  These are a Japanese exclusive, so hit up your Japanese friends who may be able to source these for you!

Vans x Supreme – Era “Fly / Madrid? 2012” (sneakpeak!)

These images were found over on the SS forums by OTWS member Luis “luisnskates”, and there is absolutely no info yet, but I figured you’d all want to see these.  These Era’s look to be the next Vans release from Supreme, and they have a “fly” print all over the canvas side panels, similar to the Madrid Sk8-Hi’s that were retro’d by Vault a few years back.  Check out the Supreme branded stamp on the heel as well!  Hopefully that makes it to the released version!

Vans Half-Cab 20th Anniversary Collection Preview (Spring/Summer 2012)

“2012 marks the 20th Anniversary of the most popular skate shoe of all time, the Vans Half Cab.  Originally released as a mid-top version of the Vans Caballero high top, the Half Cab was created in response to a new generation of skateboarders taking skate back out into the streets after the vert heyday of the 1980s.  “In ’91, I noticed that a lot of street skaters were cutting my shoe halfway down and wearing them that way,” skateboarding legend Steve Caballero remembers.  “So in ’92, I gave Vans the idea to make a lower cut shoe and call it the Half Cab.”  The new Half Cab silhouette was introduced, an icon was born and countless shoe companies would eventually go on to release their own version of this original Vans classic that has remained in our skate line to this day.

To celebrate this milestone in footwear history, Vans is dropping an exclusive edition 20th Anniversary Half Cab each month throughout the year.  Kicking off this January is a limited edition (20 pairs worldwide!) hand cut and duct taped Vans Caballero high top, each pair individually signed by Steve Caballero and available only through Supreme.  We’ll follow up with monthly re-releases of four of the most iconic Half Cab’s colorways including butterscotch, white, forest green, and beige.” -Vans

Vans Syndicate x W)Taps – Burgundy “Bones” Pack

A lot of good releases from Vans Syndicate have been popping up lately, and this morning we’ve learned that the ever so popular Bones pack is back!  Returning from Syndicate and W)Taps, in a new burgundy colorway, are 3 similar models we’ve seen before: the Chukka, Sk8-Hi, and Era.  Done up in the same suede and embroidered crossbones as the 005 and 006 releases.  What is different, is the W)Taps tongue label, but there is no info available to confirm if this will make it to the actual production pairs.  Every true Vans collector has at least one Bones shoe in their collection, and most of us diehards have a few complete sets, whether it be the 003 Black/Whites, the 005 Navys, or the 006 Blacks.  W)Taps are a staple in the Syndicate realm, and with their most popular “bones” design back for 2011, these will do quite well I assume.  More info to come later!
