Vans OTW x Dimitri Coste – Larkin

Dimitri Coste is the latest Vans OTW advocate to get a signature model, choosing the Larkin as his model of choice.  He went with a primarily white model, with red-stripe on white wool uppers, white laces, and a white leather toe cap.  They sit on top of an all white cupsole, and feature Dimitri Coste’s name on the removable footbed.  Available soon at your local OTW dealer.

Erwin’s Mickey Authentics circa 1991 (new pickups!)

OTWS member Erwin posted up a pic of his vintage circa 1991 Vans x Disney “Mickey Mouse” Authentics.  These are the cleanest ones I’ve seen, as most on eBay are worn to sh*t!  Nice come up Erwin!  Word is, one may be fore sale, BUT, they are for kids or ladies with small feet.

Vans x Changedesign x Italia Independent – Chukka Boot

Hypebeast pretty much said everything that needs to be said about these!:

“Italian creative firm Changedesign and its founder Renato Motagner re-engineer the classic Vans Chukka for a new partnership alongside the Italia Independent brand. Taking an innovative approach, Montagner brings influence from several different areas of sport, technology, fashion and design to the forefront. The result is the Independent Chukka, a nearly indestructible effort representing the designer’s elements of car and motorcycle technology. Featured materials include bulletproof ceramic Kevlar, double knot fabric (usually used in car manufacturing) and oiled leather. The shoes also sport clear outsoles with an Italian/American flag influence. A global preview is set for September 8, 2011 (7 p.m.-11:30 p.m.) at Banner in Milan, taking place during the third edition of Vogue Milan’s Fashion Night Out. ”

Vans Vault – Derby LX “Taka Hayashi”

Taka Hayashi always brings the heat from Vans, and Vault gives him pretty much free reign to come up with unique ideas for shoes, like the Derby LX seen here.  Back for this upcoming season, in a new material make up, of half suede, and half tumbled premium leather.  The material blocking gives off that spectator vibe, but the familiar triangle perforations lets you know it’s another Taka creation.  Available in a brown or black colorway, sitting on top of a crepe sole.  Available now at Hot Rod, and possibly at your local Vault dealer.

Vans Vault – Sk8-Hi TH LX (Taka Hayashi) (Fall 2011)

Check out the latest Taka Hayashi creation to release from the Vault team.  The TH Sk8-Hi LX is back for the Fall, in a major way.  Outdoing the previous Nomad colorway, this time, the foxing stripes have been switched out to leather stitched versions, and the toes are wrapped in suede.  The uppers are constructed in premium leathers, and two colors are available: grey and burgundy.  Available now or soon, at your local Vault dealer.  Thanks to Hot Rod for supplying the pics to Hypebeast!

Vans Vault x A.P.C. – 106 LX and Chukka Boot LX (available now!)

Vans Vault and A.P.C. have released their latest collaborative project.  Seen here is the 106 LX in Navy, but there’s also a Chukka Boot that can be seen on the web store, in black or blue, with a leather ankle tab, identical to the Vault Chukka’s that released a few months ago.  A.P.C. always keeps it simple, but classy.  Great materials, and subtle colors are always going to win, and that goes for these as well.  The 106 LX is going for $110, while the Chukka Boots are going for $130, exclusively from A.P.C. and on their webstore.

Vans x Primitive – Half Cab & Bedford (first look!)

After a few teaser shots from the guys over at Primitive, we now get a full on look at the Half Cab and OTW Bedford that they have planned for Spring 2012.  Previewed at SLATE, some of the guys on the forum, who have a trained eye for Vans sneakers, knew right off the bat which models Primitive were working with, but now we have validation.  The Half Cab looks nothing like I had imagined, with the cable knit sweater collar and tongue, and metal fabricated Half Cab tag on the side , going for that preppy look, while the Bedford looks clean and on-point with the all over black denim and suede, and matching foxing stripe.  The brown pebbled leather tongue contrasts quite nicely with the mountain boot laces, and the overall look.  These are just samples, so don’t be surprised if the small details go away, but I’m hoping the metal tag on the Half Cabs stay!  What about you?

Vans x Holden – Sk8-Hi (review!)

Finally, some real pics of the newly released Vans x Holden Sk8-Hi!  Thanks to Erwin, for purchasing these right when they came out, because now I can give you all a proper review, in a timely fashion, while these are still in stock.  However, I believe that after this post, that’s all going to change.  Materials are the name of the game these days, especially when it comes to special collaborations, and that is what’s going to make these sell, even if everyone has at least 10 different variations of a black on white pair of Vans.  There is no question that these are a must have for you collectors.  From the soft, supple, premium leathers, to the black waxed canvas (that Vans seems to have a surplus on), to the cream colored sole, complete with a suede foxing strip, with stitching.  Oh, it doesn’t end there.  The Holden branded removable PU sockliner has the same material and cream color as the soft leather lining, for added comfort, and the waxed laces are a must when you’ve taken a shoe’s design this far into premiumville!  The heel tab has an embossed “h” on it, the tongue has a big red Holden tag that will instantly tell others what these are, and there’s a small personal message on the inner top lace eyelet, just for you :).  Peep the jump, for some awesomely detailed pics, because this is definitely one of those “look’s better in person” kind of shoes.  Also, need I remind you that these are only $79.99?!!

Vans Syndicate x Greg Hunt – Era “S” and AV Sk8-Low “S”

Greg Hunt, maker of the 2009 film “MindField”, which won him the TWS Best Video Award, has been given the cool opportunity to create these two Syndicate releases, which are due out very soon.  Choosing the Era, and the AV Sk8-Low, he decided to go with an all-black colorway, mixing up the materials with a combination of suede and waxed canvas, similar to the recent GR Max Schaaf pack.  The pics make the canvas appear to be gray, but we assure you that it’s just the lighting.  Both pairs sit on top of all white midsoles, giving that classic winning color combo that we all love.  Also, note the waxed laces, and removable PU sockliners, complete with Greg Hunt’s logo.  Will you be copping these?

Vans Syndicate x Jason Jessee – Old Skool (New Pickups!)

Can you say WTF?  How is it that I was able to snag a pair of the most holiest of grails in the Syndicate realm?!  I’m still in shock that I came across these from a long time Vans Syndicate dealer, but you better believe it!  Only one minor blemish, from being exposed to the elements for a few years, through the hole in the Syndicate box.  The rest of the shoe is as if it were brand new, (unlike my 003 sz12 Jason Jessee Sk8-Hi’s from FCLA that had one yellow sole, and one brand new white sole).  A little bit of Sea Glow should fix that spot right up!  Do some digging, and see what you can come up with at your local Syndicate dealer!  You never know.
