Vans Syndicate x Greg Hunt – AV Sk8-Low “S” (A closer look)

The other model to release alongside the Era “S”, is the AV Sk8-Low “S”, done up in the same materials and colors as the other pair, but with a completely different vibe and feel.  This pair fits a little bit wider, and looks more flat and low to the ground, than the Era, which appears more narrow and slightly taller.  There’s something for everyone!  These feature all the same details as the pair I mentioned before, and some features I saved for this posting include the newer style padded sockliner, which now features gel inserts into the heel and forefoot, first featured on the Zero Lo GR edition.  Take a look at the rest of the pics after the jump, and head on out to your local Syndicate dealer to cop these!

Vans Syndicate x Greg Hunt – Era “S” (A closer look)

The latest and greatest from the Vans Syndicate team has finally arrived, and what do we all love more than a few nicer shots than the standard press photos?  Nothing!  That’s all we want!  Well, I’ve managed to snap off a few decent shots, which shows the minor contrast between the black suede, and dark grey waxed canvas.  These are not just an all black shoe, oh no!  The Syndicate group even went as far as matching both sets of waxed laces to either shade you prefer, minor yet important details in which they are known for!  Also take note of the top lace eyelet on both pairs, which feature a notch, unlike the rest of the eyelets in the eye row.  You’ll definitely be off the fence for sure with these pics!

Vans x All Nations Skate Jam x Pendleton – Chicago Powwow Capsule Collection (2011)

Nibwaakaawin, along with Vans, have teamed up once again to create another awesome limited edition shoe release.  This time, there are quite a few more styles and color combos, as well as a wider size range, reaching all the way down to kids sizes.  Nibwaakaawin puts on a huge skate program called the All Nations Skate Jam every year, at the Chicago Powwow, and for the past few years they’ve teamed up with Vans to create a special release, that is sold exclusively at their event.  What sets this particular collection apart from your average collaboration, is their incorporation of authentic Pendleton wool fabric, in limited Native American prints, a tip of the hat to the Native youth culture that the Nibwaakaawin non-profit organization helps support.

This collection will go on sale, during the Chicago Powwow, from November 18-20, 2011, and if there are any left over pairs, you can contact shoes@allnationsskatejam.com to see if they have the style that you want.  To read more on this release, visit the ASNJ blog post here!

Vans Syndicate x Greg Hunt – Era and AV Sk8-Low (Now available!)

The latest Vans Syndicate collection, 018, is now starting to pop up at your local Syndicate dealer, and it’s shaping up to be a solid looking release.  Brant from Silo has hooked us up with some high-res teaser shots of the release, but it gives us a good idea of the small details that Syndicates are well known for, as well as the material choices.  Enjoy, and thanks again to the homie Brant for the info!  If you’re having a hard time finding these, then see what Brant can do for you, and let him know you’re down with OTWS!

Vans x Royal Hawaiian Pool Service – Sk8-Mid (available now!)

We’re bringing to you another Hawaiian brand collaboration, or actually, a Hawaiian crew collaboration this time, between Vans and legendary, O.G., Royal Hawaiian Pool Service.  They chose to collaborate on a Sk8-Mid, constructed in black pig suede, and cordura nylon.  There’s also some hits of a nice shade of blue, which looks almost purple, on the wave stripe, as well as the laces.  They’ve also gone crazy with the lace eyelets, choosing to put metal yellow ones on the top 3.  This is a pro model, so there’s a duracap toe bumper, as well as a removable PU sockliner, which is customized with a RHPS logo on it.  The customizing doesn’t stop there, oh no!  There’s a full on logo, on the front tongue, and there’s a “shaka” hang tag on the wave stripe.  The last and final mod, is the reversed waffle tread, for that added grip and flexibility, which we all love.  These are said to be lightweight and comfy, but honestly, I’m so sorry for the late info, but better late than never!  This release sort of flew under the radar, but it’s been a hit, as most shops only have random sizes available, but Blue Hawaii Surf over in Hawaii has a full-size-run on these, for a decent $65.  If you can find a local spot carrying these, which a few are, like Thaliasurf, Index, and Tactics, then support local, and save on shipping from Hawaii, but good luck, because they are super limited!

There’s also a trucker hat that Blue Hawaii Surf is also selling with this release!

Vans Vault – Buffalo Boot “Knoll Pack” (Holiday 2011)

The Knoll Pack is back!  This is the 3rd collaboration project between Vans Vault and Knoll textile company, and every season they come back with more great colorways and signature materials.  This time, we have a preview of the Buffalo Boot, seen here in Dusk, and Grotto.  The two models feature perforated suede, combined with Knoll synthetic fabric, and sit on top of off-white midsoles.  Both also feature black linings, and round laces, for that finishing touch.  These are on my watch list!  How about you?

Vans x Mooneyes – Era (Japan only?)

This isn’t the first collabo between Vans and So-Cal auto culture company Mooneyes.  As you may recall, back in 2008 they did an entire capsule collection with Vans Vault.  This time, they got together to create this awesome, toned down, Era, in an all black canvas, with custom”MOON” embroidering on the heels.  These were produced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show on December 4th in Japan, where the Mooneyes brand has been embraced by enthusiasts for decades.  From my own personal observations, these are a Japanese only release.  The location of release, plus the shoe box, shape of the shoe, and the heel tab, all point to them being a Japanese market pair of Vans.  Sorry to break it to you everybody!

Vans x Max Schaaf – Era Pro (available with Ollie Pad!)

Rejoice!  The Max Schaaf Era Pro is now available for purchase with the coveted “ollie pad”!  Many were upset, or downright pissed that their pre-orders for this shoe, came in without the most defining part of the shoe, the rubber ollie pad.  Well, I happen to come across 35th Avenue Skate Shop’s website, and saw that their images of the shoe contained the ollie pad, so I gave them a call, and sure enough, their second shipment came with ollie pads!  They’re not sure if it’s a revision, or if it’s just a fluke, being that multiple factories were commissioned to make these shoes.  Either way, if you’ve been looking for these, call up 35th Avenue at 253-839-5202, and place your phone order, and tell them that OFFTHEWALLSITE sent you!

HUF “3ft. High and Rising” – Authentic (samples?)

OTWS member Geek. shared this pic with us, and I wanted to share it with all of you.  Not sure if these are an upcoming sample, or a previous scrapped sample, but the white Authentic you see here, wrapped in snakeskin, tells you that these must have been for the popular 3ft. High and Rising capsule collection.  The laces also give it away.  Not much info here, but if anything pops up, we’ll let you know!
