Vans – Half Cab Pro “20th Anniversary” Metallica (Holiday 2012)

We finally get a sneak peek at the 20th Anniversary Half Cab Pro “Metallica” shoe.  It’s been in the rumor mill for about a month now, and there’s been a little bit of talk on the forums as well, but we finally have some pics of what to expect, thanks to Steve Caballero (@steviecab), himsef!  Good ‘ol Instagram.  He’s out in Atlantic City this weekend for the ORION Music Festival, along with a few other skateboarding legends, to put on a skate demo and signing, and show off these shoes, as well as the 2013 Metallica Band Series Collection.  Stay tuned, as we bring that collection to you next!

(Instagram has been an integral part in helping OTWS do what we do.  It’s allowed us to find more Vans enthusiasts than ever before, and create a sort of interactive community where we can share all things Vans related.  We post up interesting photos from followers, that we hope will spark some interest and creativity, thus getting more people to contribute their pictures to the #otws library.  We really want to emphasize that we’ve always been community driven, and we pretty much wouldn’t exist without all of your involvement!  Keep hashtaggin’ -Guamstyles)

Vans Vault x Taka Hayashi – TH Chukka LX (Summer 2012)

Ok, so these came out of nowhere!  Normally, a Taka Hayashi model gets some fairly early previewing but not this time.  The TH Chukka LX from Vans Vault has been kept under wraps, and until now we we’re wondering when the next TH design was going to drop.  Well a day after the conversation was sparked in our forums, these popped up on Hypebeast, and it’s about time.  We need our Taka collabs man!  The shoe is a new design, but labeled as a Chukka TH.  I guess the TH allows it to be considered an entirely different shoe, which it is.  It has style cues from the Akat LX, another Taka Hayashi designed Vans Vault model, and is wrapped in canvas and premium Horween leather.  They also feature leather laces, Taka’s signature feather logo on the tongue, and a woven lining.  They’ll be available in 3 colors:  Black, Dark Khaki, and Dark Slate.  Let’s hope these don’t reach anywhere near the $200 mark like the last TH release!

Vans x Spitfire – AV Native American Low (Available now)

Vans has once again teamed up with Spitfire wheels to create some awesome Vans shoes.  For this season, they’ve done a few models, but this one’s pretty interesting.  They’ve taken the classic Native American model and chopped it down into a low top hybrid, getting most of it’s looks from the AV Sk8-Low.  I must say that this one works pretty well with the chosen contrast stitching and color-blocking.  The official colorway is Black/Flame Red, and is constructed primarily in black suede, with a red canvas with little Spitfire logos all over it.  The footbed also features Spitfire branding as well.  Are these a must cop?

Vans x The Skateboarder Magazine (Official Release)

We’ve been anticipating the release of the Vans x Skateboarder Magazine pack.  Paying homage to the classic styles and colors that were popularized amongst the skate community back in the day.  This pack consists of an Era, Old Skool, and my favorite, the Mid Skool ’77.  The colors are just too dope.  By the way, if you’re used to sizing up on most of your Mid Skools, then stay true to size on this release, because I ordered an early pair off of Vans.com and they definitely run smaller than your typical pair.  What gives, Vans?!  Anyways, go out and cop yourself a pair.  These should start hitting your local Vans dealers soon.

Vans Syndicate x Streetmachine – Old Skool “S” Wonderland (promo video)

Words via Streetmachine:

“Vans Syndicate and Streetmachine are proud to announce the launch of their first project together. Syndicate represents Vans’ premium skateboarding line and is available exclusively in selected skate stores. Streetmachine (1989) is one of Europe’s oldest skateboard retailers and has helped build the Copenhagen skate scene for over 13 years.

The 3-shoe collaboration sees the classic Old Skool silhouette sporting colourways directly inspired by three iconic Copenhagen skate spots. Here we have the Wonderland show; the design driven by the legendary bowl in the counter-culture heart of Christiania and legendary skateboarder Nicky Guerrero who absolutely killed the bowl during the filming for this.

Constructed using premium Vans syndicate materials, these feature a full-suede upper and Co-Molded PU footbeds with ImpactSorb gel pads for increased impact support. Available exclusively from Streetmachine, the Vans x Streetmachine Old Skool will go on sale June 8th, 10am.

Get inspired. Go skate.”

Vans OTW x DualForces – Breton Boot (Summer 2012)

We previewed this model awhile back, but now there’s some new photos that have surfaced, of this new style from Vans OTW, called the Breton.  It’s designed after a field boot, typically worn by soldiers and police officers, and this particular model was created by a collaboration effort with advertising agency DualForces.  Known for their past work with the Stussy x Neighborhood “Boneyards” project, as well as the Nike Sportswear “Be True” campaign.  There are tons more, but those are the most notable.  This shoe consists primarily of nubuck suede and durable canvas in an all black colorway.  They also feature Vibram brand soles for the superior quality that they are known for.  There’s also a few small hits of 3M branding on the tongue and side collar.  These should be available in early July at your local OTW dealer.

Vans Syndicate x Streetmachine – Old Skool “S” Pack (Summer 2012)

Words via Hypebeast:

Vans Syndicate presents a look at its latest collaboration, this time teaming up with Copenhagen skateboarding giant Streetmachine for three versions of the classic Old Skool. Inspired by three of Copenhagen’s most iconic skate spots, the pack pays homage to the seaside blocks, ledges and stairs of Amager Beach Park; the legendary Wonderland Bowl and counter-culture of Christiania and the high, rugged ledges of Streetmachine’s local Jarmers hangout with Off White, Brick Red and Dark Blue colorways. Decked out in the premium materials that are the hallmark of the Vans Syndicate line and complete with suede uppers, Co-Molded PU footbeds and ImpactSorb gel pads for cushioning, all three colorways are available now exclusively through Streetmachine’s storefront and online shop for €108 EUR (approximately $135 USD) each.”

Vans x Supreme – Authentic “Checkers & Corduroy” (S/S 2012)

This latest Vans collaboration with Supreme is going to be an interesting one.  The Authentic model seen here, has been wrapped primarily in a printed black & white checkerboard canvas, but the toe panel utilizes premium corduroy, in four pastel looking colorways: Ice Blue, Seafoam, Pale Yellow, and Coral.  The colors are reminiscent of late 70s to early 80s fashion, and should be a great addition to your Summer lineup.  There will be no mistaking that these are in fact Supremes.  A few pairs have already been circulating around the net with uncertainty as to if and when they were releasing.  Some even took it as far as to say they were fakes, but now we know for sure that they’re not.  They’re set to release next Thursday, June 14th exclusively at Supreme.  Will you be copping these?
