The Arkiv Art solo exhibition is right around the corner, at the Toy Art Gallery in Los Angeles, and we are proud to be a supporter of Arkiv Vilmansa, and his awesome art. He’ll be visiting us on August 4th, 2012, all the way from Singapore, and he’s got quite a few pieces to exhibit, including three custom Vans Era’s custom hand-painted by him, in his signature flowing “feathers” if you will. They are a thing of beauty, and we’re expecting a huge turn-out for this event. This isn’t his first show here, and it surely won’t be his last. He’s on the rise, and you all need to come and witness this guy before he’s too big to hang around all of us small people! Come and say you were an early supporter. In fact, we have teamed up with Arkiv to produce a small amount of tees for the event. Portraying the “bones” theme that the shoes will be displayed with, he came up with a custom design exclusively for us, and you can order one right now, over on our OFFTHEWALLSITE forums. Send a direct message to his manager, OTWS member shaztech, and he will be able to set you up with a pre-order, to possibly wear to the event, where Arkiv may sign it for you! Vans Vault and Taka Hayashi are at it again for the Fall season, with this interesting interpretation on the Chukka Boot. Taka isn’t one to conform to what’s popular, but you can’t deny he’s a master of his craft. The Native American themes are starting to fade away, but the influence is still there. This model still has that moccasin shape, similar to what he used for the Akat LX, and the waxed canvas and leather falls in line with most of his past high end releases. They’re lined in canvas and textured leather laces, and are available in three classic colors: Black, Dark Khaki and Dark Slate. Expect these soon at your local Vault dealer.

Next year is going to be an epic year for the Vans band series. They’ve teamed up with Metallica for a plethora of releases, including the “Kill ‘Em All” Pack seen here. Consisting of two classics, the Sk8-Hi and Slip-On, featuring iconic art from the album. The shoe’s have an over-all black, white, and red tone, and feature Metallica brand embroidering on the heel of each shoe. I can’t wait for these, as a lot of others as well! If you don’t know much about Metallica, then get on to your Netflix account and start watching all of the documentaries that have been done on them, and you may have a new found respect for the iconic heavy metal band. These are due out next year, but the 20th Anniversary Half Cab will be out during the Holidays. We can’t wait!

For the month of July, we get to take a look at the Half Cab Pro “Dirty Donny” “20th Anniversary” model. For decades, Dirty Donny has been spreading his artwork across various pop culture scenes of the punk, rock ‘n’ roll, and heavy metal underground. With art showing up on toys, skateboards, paintings, as well as hot rods and record covers, you’ve surely came across some of his fine work. Vans has given Dirty Donny the Half Cab as his canvas, to create whatever he wanted, and this is his final product. Done up in an awesome eye-catching turquoise blue, with a black foxing stripe and lining. Also look at the awesome Dirty Donny character on the Half Cab tag, signifying the artist’s work. This Summer, Supreme has joined Comme des Garçons SHIRT to release two new versions of the Vans Authentic and SK8-Hi. Both styles will feature Comme des Garçons shirting fabric on the upper of the shoe made exclusively for Supreme.

Vans OTW teams up with DualForces to bring us this awesome capsule collection. Consisting of a Breton Boot High, in an all black colorway, comprised of a mixture of nubuck suede, and ballistic nylon. A t-shirt will be offered, as well as an awesome blacked out MGB V2 “bug-out” bag, which almost all armed forces personnel are instructed to have in case of an emergency mission. The bag is made by S.O. Tech, which provides military spec equipment to our American soldiers. This thing’s legit, and has been given the OTW treatment, by way of an OTW velcro patch. Sick stuff! Expect this collection to start showing up at a few OTW dealers as of July 1st. I’m sure some will be available online as well.
