Vans has teamed up with Odyssey BMX, out of Austin, Texas, to bring you this awesome Authentic, designed in a red canvas with the Texas Toast Jam logo in an all-over print. The shoes feature a custom logo on the footbed, as well as on the heel tab. If you’re in the market for some rare (100 pairs) Red Authentics, and you’re going to be at the Texas Toast Jam on Oct. 13-14th, then try to score a pair of these! On a side note, has anyone else tried grilled Texas Toast? Next time you have a bbq, buy a package of the real Texas Toast, not the one with the cheese on top, and take it right out of the frozen box, and throw it on the grill. Coals or propane. Toast it up for a few seconds, until some slight charring starts to occur, and bam! You won’t want it any other way after that! I Guar-Own-Tee it! Okay, enough already.

Here’s the first look at the next Vans Syndicate release, coming in under the 021 series, this Era Pro “S” features a mustard and brown “Anti Hero” colorway, with perforated suede. This will be part of the Julien Stranger pack, also featuring an Old Skool “S” with the same perforated suede, but in another colorway. Stay tuned for that one, but until then, just admire the change up from the seemingly normal black and blue colors that we’ve been receiving lately! Check out some of the cool technology that is being featured on this release, and am I reading that correctly? Are there going to be two sets of insoles for these? Nice! Definitely a must cop for me!

Vans Vault has teamed up with Nice Kicks on ‘The Duel” Sneaker Pack. They chose to go with the Sk8-Hi LX and the Era LX, both featuring a mixture of oiled premium leather and raw denim on the upper. NiceKicks creator Matt Halfhill’s inspiration on this collaboration, comes from his memories of the old cowboy way of life, giving them a western theme, naturally fitting, since NiceKicks is from Austin, Texas.
“This set features my two favorite Vans models and is inspired by childhood heroes and popular culture – cowboys, the Wild West and the independent spirit associated with those figures. The oiled leather and heel cap represent my first pair of boots, as well as the saddle and reins on a horse. The red Vans Vault logo on the back is a tribute to both the Nice Kicks logo and the Texas flag. The raw denim and antique brass further underscore the Western influence of the collaboration.”
The Nice Kicks x Vans Vault “The Duel” Era LX and Sk8-Hi sneakers will release exclusively at the Nice Kicks Shop in Austin, TX on Friday, September 14th at midnight for a price of $110 and $125, respectively. An online release at ShopNiceKicks.com will follow the next day at Noon CST.

“Vans once again teamed up with Japanese retailer Beauty & Youth. This time they worked on a great collaboration for Fall 2012, giving the Authentic and the Slip-On, two Vans classics, the Harris Tweed treatment. Both sneakers are covered in different Harris Tweed wool patterns with interesting panel design.
Matching the sneakers, Beauty & Youth also produced a 59Fifty and a 8-Panel New Era cap. Look out for a release of the sneakers and the caps in the coming weeks.” Exclusive to Japan!

Kenzo and Vans keep pumping out these great kicks, and it looks like they aren’t letting up anytime soon. The Parisian label has been creating these limited runs of Vans sneakers, to coincide with their seasonal offerings. I suspect that these patterns featured here, will be seen on a few apparel pieces from their Fall/Winter line as well. There are 3 patterns seen here, including a marble pattern, a hand-drawn circle piece, and a lattice/marble pattern, which I’m not sure what it really is, but it’s definitely unique. If only we could get them to introduce premium features, like a different outsole, pu sockliner, or premium leather liners to match their premium prices!

“The previously introduced Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault TH Sierra Trek Hi LX receives further refinement in the release of its second installment. Having already left his mark on a handful of Vans Vault creations, Hayashi has taken the liberty to revamp the outsole by switching the original crepe-based one with a Vibram bottom. The majority of the upper is constructed with soft Horween leather with the exception of an off-colored strip of embossed leather found at the arch of the mid-top shoe. Other details include contrasting leather interior lining, round textured lacing and top metal eyelets. Available in both beige and sunrise brown, the Vans Vault TH Sierra Trek Hi LX II is set to release early September as part of Vans‘s 2012 fall/winter collection.”

I’m obviously in the wrong game. I figured starting a website and forum about Vans would put me on the right path to my very own Vans collaboration, but from the looks of it, all you need to do is create shoe laces! Just kidding, but here’s the latest collaboration from OTW. They’ve chosen to let Starks founder, Alex Dymond, create his own variation of the Woessner, who decided to take the nautical route, featuring washed canvas uppers, zig-zag stitch detailing, suede accents and metal eyelets, and finishing these off with you’ve guessed it, signature laces! Peep the must-have floaty keychain as well! Dope! Check for these in September!
