Vans x Supreme – Lampin (Spring/Summer 2013)

Supreme’s back at it again for the S/S ’13 season, and this time around, they’re dropping another rarity in the Vans sneaker community. To the new sneakerheads, they might not be familiar with the Lampin, but for most VANS sneakerheads, we’ve come across a pair or two on eBay, labeled as “Vintage” or “NOS” or “Made in USA”. I guess we have to thank Supreme again for digging deep into the vault, and re-introducing these to us, and thanks for giving us Vans collectors something that we believe the “Supreme kids” will steer clear of. The colors chosen for the release speak late 80’s and early 90’s skate shoes, and will be available in 4 colorways: Black, Purple/Gold, Navy/Maroon, and Royal Blue/Green. No definitive info as of yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if an email drops this week, giving us a better idea about them. Stay tuned!

Quintin Co. x Offthewallsite – Trucker Hat (+ Summer 2013 Quintin Co. Preview!)

You know, when I first brought OTWS back from the dead a few years ago, I never imagined where it would be now, but I guess when you believe in something, and are passionate about it, then the authenticity naturally follows, as well as some recognition. Recognition can come in many forms, and long-time Offthewallsite supporter, Todd Shimabuku, has always recognized us and done stuff for us, before we grew to a 1,000 hit average per day site. That’s small peanuts, I know, compared to the mega blogs, and their insatiable thirst for readers, but what we lack in general readership, we make up for in core enthusiasts. Vans heads know where to go, to get the most current, AND CORRECT Vans related news. Todd, and the In4mation guys must know this, because why else would they even care to give us an ounce of their time? Well, Todd has been busy at work, as Quintin Co.’s U.S. Sales Manager / Assistant Director, and he’s thrown us a freakin’ bone here, by generously asking the Quintin Co. guys if they could come up with something for us, and after a few logo swaps back and forth, they’ve came up with a pretty sick trucker hat with our Eagle/Anaconda “OTWS ARMY” logo, infused with their logo, and I’m delighted to share the mock-ups for y’all.

Actually, this post is more about showing some love back, and spreading the news about their Summer 2013 collection, and the trucker hat will most likely be a friends and family edition, but who knows, perhaps if we get our sh*t together this year, maybe we can do another one, that we can release to the masses! So take some time, and check out what they got coming up for the Summer, and support a brand like Quintin Co., who make some of the most legit designs in the industry, and who collab with some of the heaviest hitters out there right now…and some small fries like us! We’re totally blessed. Thank you Quintin Co., and thank you Todd for being our big brother!

Vans Japan x Deluxe – Era (Japan Exclusive!)

Japanese brand Deluxe has teamed up with Vans Japan to create this Era that you see here. The Era sports a navy suede upper with a small leather panel on the heel, while sitting on a white midsole with clear waffle bottom. Vans Vault x Sole Classics – “Carmen” Era LX (Available May 25th)

Sole Classics has just dropped a few new teaser shots of their upcoming collaboration with Vans Vault, dubbed “Carmen”, an Era LX featuring a treated “fading” white canvas material, with an instantly recognizable red vulcanized sole. There’s a tumbled leather ankle tab, as well as a tanned leather lining and tongue binding. There was also a short video made as well, so check it out, and let us know what you think! They’re definitely something we haven’t seen before, and I think I like that! Coming May 25th!

Vans x Primitive – Era (2013) @the_netkin @primitive_la

We’ve recently gotten another sneakpeek at the upcoming Primitive collection from Vans. First was the Mountain Edition, and this time we get a look at the Era, done up in a sort of Native American inspired design, featuring some nice embroidery on the tongue, and the same stitched foxing that we saw on the Mtn. Edition. Peep the hiker lace loops, and laces! These definitely have an “outdoorsy” feel to them. Can’t wait to see official info, and hey Primitive, if you’re reading this, why not showcase these at our upcoming art exhibition with Yojie Japanese Fondue, in Diamond Bar?! Get at me!

“Sole Classics, Columbus, Ohio’s only premium sneaker boutique, will collaborate with Vans to release a limited edition Vans Vault sneaker nicknamed “Carmen”. As the only Vault account in Ohio, Sole Classics has put together a shoe that will detail the culture and lifestyle of the entire state, while pushing the envelope creatively. This is a historical opportunity as the project is not only the first to come out of Ohio, but it will also feature a first-time technique that has yet to be executed by Vans.

“I feel as if the story behind collaborations have been lost in the shuffle.” Owner Dionte’ Johnson says. “I believe that people are so concerned about colorways and materials that they forget to tell a story that resonates with the people.. we are doing exactly that. Anyone can make a unique shoe given the opportunity, but why are you making it?”

Offthewallsite & Yojie Japanese Fondue Present: Waffurusōru ワッフルソール – “An artistic exhibition of Vans sneaker culture”

Offthewallsite and Yojie Japanese Fondue Diamond Bar are proud to present: Waffurusōru ワッフルソール – “An artistic exhibition of Vans sneaker culture”. Waffurusōru is the Japanese word for wafflesole, giving a nod to both Yojie, and our favorite iconic brand of sneaker. We will be collaborating and educating, through artwork, rare Vans items, as well as some of our favorite Vans sneakers.

We’ve also reached out to some of our closest friends in our beloved industry, to support us in our first major collective. Some with product, some with their valuable time, and some with helping us find artists to fill the walls at Yojie Japanese Fondue in Diamond Bar. We will announce names of our supporters as we get things etched in stone, and we know what each can help us with. We’re greatly appreciative of this effort, and we will bring the best art show to the San Gabriel Valley/Orange County, that we know how to. The response so far has been amazing, and all I can say is stay tuned for some epic shit. (Fun Fact: The start date is 6/6, which as most of you know, is iconic with Vans. We picked that date before we even made that connection. Mindblown, lol.)

The exhibition will run for 1 month from June 6th 2013, thru June 27th, 2013.

Vans x Pendleton x All Nations Skate Jam – Exclusive Shoes (2013)

Vans has once again teamed up with non-profit Nibwaakaawin for the annual All Nations Skate Jam. Every year, they create some awesome shoes for the event, incorporating authentic Pendleton wool into each design. This year, they went with two different blanket variations, a navy/grey, as well as your standard turquoise color one. Both are amazing, and go nicely with each shoe. There’s a Sk8-Hi, Old Skool, and Slip On for each color. These will be available exclusively this weekend, at this year’s All Nations Skate Jam in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on April 27th and 28th. If you’re in the area, stop by and support this awesome event. One year, I will try to make it out to there and visit with Todd and friends! Keep up the amazing work guys, and all you do for the Native American youth skaters!
