I like that most recent significant Vans releases have been kept under wraps. I mean, we saw preview pics of one of these shoes awhile back, when Bodega released their apparel lookbook, but other than those pictures, there was no info what so ever. No build up to the release. No leaked photos. Nothing. Perhaps they’re super limited, and they don’t want to create a demand that will far outnumber the supply. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Here’s a little info from Bodega:
“Our design team recently paired up with Vans to create the ‘Coming to America’ Pack. The collection consists of three different and intricately designed OG Authentic LX models. Each color way features patterned fabrics that have African origins. The sneaker comes with an “Off the Wall” branded box and cinch bag with additional raw hyde laces. The Vans logo still appears on the upper, while a hidden Bodega logo is printed on the insole. Other unique features include tortoise shell lace eyelets, top edge leather piping, and gum toes. This collection stays true to our mission; to curate and create, rare quality goods.”

If padded collars aren’t your thing, then these Authentics will be releasing alongside the Era’s in this Liberty London collection. Also featuring Liberty’s signature floral textiles, there are 3 patterns to choose from: Flower Paisley/Cream, Leaves/Pink, and Birds/Navy. Which ones will you be copping this Summer?

It looks like the Liberty London Vans collection is due out this July, and Titolo in Switzerland has started taking pre-orders for the first collection. Seen here are the two Era’s that will be coming out. One in a Paisley/Navy model that we’ve seen already, but also another in a Mountains/Army pattern. Whichever is your style, these are definitely going to be one of the most popular releases of the year! Start looking for these at your local Vans store this Summer!

Well here they are! The shoe all the kids have been running around frantically trying to score, some successful, while others a day late and a dollar short of their own local sneaker reseller! I don’t think there has been a more underestimated release for Vans, in a long long time, than the Vans Syndicate x Odd Future Old Skool Pro “S”. People still aren’t quite sure how to point out the demographic for this fan base, but one thing’s for sure, it’s a large fuckin’ fan base! To tell you the truth, most of us Vans sneaker collectors, mostly older guys, copped these purely from a collector’s standpoint. Not taking anything away from the shoe’s design though, because Tyler “created” one of the best Old Skools I’ve seen in a long time. The color combo is instantly recognizable, and I’m already a fan of the gum sole, so when I saw the early pics of these, I knew I was going to end up with at least one or two. There’s definitely a core skater vibe to these. Something most skaters can gravitate to. It’s not over the top with crazy materials, or wild colors, yet the embroidered “GOLF WANG” on the heel, and the OFWGKTA kitties on the footbed and backside of the tongue are just the right amount of Odd Future needed for a dope collab, without turning away us regulars. The all over suede is premium, and is just perfect. Smooth. Quality. Durable. What else can I say?! The collar lining has this unfamiliar material, that feels like leather, but it isn’t. It’s sort of like a nubuck, or even some synthetic moisture-wicking material. Soft is what it is!
As always, I’ve snapped a few detailed pics for y’all. I’ve laced each pair up in both laces that came with each shoe, and if you want to get wild, you can probably lace swap between colorways, since these colors seem to compliment each other very well. Hope to kick you off the fence about these, whichever direction that is!

“Vans teams up with legendary cycling company Haro Bikes to produce a limited capsule. Though Vans is widely known for its skate-heavy heritage, the brand has also historically supported skating’s two-wheeled foils. Given Haro Bikes’ innovation – starting from one of the first mass-produced freestyle frames: The Haro Original Freestyler – this collaboration riffs on both brands’ extensive history of design and pioneering. As such, blue and green vintage-inspired racing stripes and checkerboards are the running motif throughout the collection, which includes: the Sk8-Hi, the Era (both pictured here), a range of T-shirts, and snap-closure hats. Enjoy a look the Haro x Vans collection, which releases July 15 at worldwide retailers.”

Supreme is throwing the Vans collectors another bone here, with this reproduction of the Lampin from the early 90’s. They pop up on eBay every once in awhile, in some odd-ball colorways, but I guarantee you, none as off the wall as these! Taking cues from the 90’s skate colors, these are a nice venture back into the good ‘ol days when skate went back into the underground. Hopefully those who want a pair will get them, and the choice of colors will keep the resellers away. I can’t see them “getting it”. Will you be copping?
Words via Supreme:
“The Vans #86 Lampin was originally produced in the USA in 1993, introduced at the time as an updated durable skate shoe.
This Summer, Supreme will be releasing a new version of the Vans Lampin. The Lampin will feature a premium suede nubuck upper with a vulcanized waffle outsole and leather in-sole. The Lampin will be available in four colorways made exclusively for Supreme.”

So I guess it’s appropriate to start posting pictures up of the upcoming Vault x W)Taps collection! This has been on our radar for a little while now, and we’ve been keeping it to our greedy selves, that is until it hit Highsnobiety! Thanks a lot! Highsnob mentioned something that is news to us, and that’s that these will be Made in the USA. Although that seems highly unlikely for Vans, it is certainly possible, especially for a collab like W)Taps. The collection seen here, will consists of all classic models, inlcuding a Chukka, a Sk8-Hi, and a Slip-On. Premium suede, and canvas wrap each model, and some nice blacks and blues make up the majority of the colorways seen here. There’s also some tan and brown mixed in to a few models as well. As more info becomes available, we’ll post it here, so until then, enjoy the few pics that I’ve gathered from our forum after the jump!

“The Vans – OTH Boutique in Montreal recently celebrated its 2nd anniversary, attracting the beautiful people of the city’s social scene to l’Astral for a night of music, dancing and general celebration. With OTH Boutique being a driving force in Montreal’s streetwear scene, the event drew some influential figures. To commemorate the event, iconic designer Taka Hayashi teamed up with Vans to offer a fresh version of the Style 36 Originals LX silhouette. This appropriately light version is executed with an off-white canvas upper, with hints of tonal suede around the toecap and heel counter. Limited to 96 pairs, the sneaker is delivered in a hand-numbered custom canvas wrapping, a fitting package for such a clean piece.”
