Vans x Livestock “Painted” T-Shirts by Kenta Goto

Words Via HighSnobiety:

Vans worked with Canadian boutique Livestock for a series of photo tees. Entitled “Painted,” the photographs by Kenta Goto represent a series of textures familiar to anyone who’s ever picked up a skateboard.

“The world looks quite differently through a skateboarder’s eyes. A set of stairs are not just for walking up and down, ledges and planters aren’t just architectural containers and displays for greenery, railings are not just for holding on to….. This series of photographs takes the idea of how skateboarders see and use urban structures and “paint” the city with their skateboards. Skaters mark up and wear out these structures and continue to reshape and add colour to our cities.”

ASR Marketplace 2010 – VANS – Spring 2011 Apparel Preview

words by Freshnessmag:

VANS has always been known for its roots in skating, and for a while now, the label does indeed roll out surf items such as flip flops, light-wearing slip-on shoes and it does dabble in surf shorts as well. However, for Spring/Summer 2011, the label is putting a little more emphasis on its surf and swim collection and getting a little serious about it. Seriously technical, that is.

In terms of the swim goods, VANS will be releasing a line-up of basic surf shorts named “ERA”, after the ultimate VANS classic, and it purveys the same simple, monochromatic aesthetic of the ERA. Then, there is a more technical surf shorts in acidic brights that is extremely comfortable in a technical three-way stretch. Then, there is a collaboration with skateboarder/artist Neil Blender, which also comes with matching tank-tops.”
